Jin reveals he actually tracked Nicky down while she was living at the monastery but, when he saw how happy she was, he left without approaching her.
Nicky travels to Canada to find her aunt and meets Duke, a carpenter who her aunt rescued after he got injured in the woods. Duke respected Mei-Xue enough that he made a wood carving of her face.
Mei-Li tells Nicky a story of how Mei-Xue saved her from being hit by a car when they were children. This story convinces Duke that Nicky is Mei-Xue's niece.
Nicky learns that her aunt died after living several years in total isolation. However, someone cared about her enough to bury her outside her cabin and give her a grave marker.
Mei-Li's casual reaction to Ryan revealing that Joe is his boyfriend. She only criticizes Ryan's jacket for being not nice enough for a date.
Mei-Li standing up for Nicky in front of her domineering mother and refusing to repeat her mother's mistakes.
Also what led up to this. Mei-Li had to stand up to Nicky because Nicky made a scene in front of her mother at dinner. Why did Nicky do this? Because Mei-Li's mother made a nasty backhanded complement supposedly praising Nicky and her siblings while insulting Mei-Li and dismissing the restaurant as worthless. One look at her mother's crestfallen face, and Nicky just explodes.
Chloe, Dennis' sister, causes a scene at the wedding so Althea can sneak away and talk to Nicky. Chloe has no idea what's going on and does this purely because she's grateful to Nicky for helping her.
In the finale, Pei-Ling's interactions with both Nicky and her sister during the Biange sequence. After a whole season of Pei-Ling appearing only to give stoic advice, in a Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane kind of way, the Pei-Ling that appears during Biange, at least, is confirmed to be the real one, and openly shows affection for Nicky and Zhilan.
Season 2
Henry visits his estranged father to get his grandmother's engagement ring because he wants to give it to Nicky.
Dennis reveals he feels that he's not good enough for Althea. Althea's reassurance is so sweet that even the episode's villain gives them a smile and a thumbs-up.
Mia reunites with the Shen family and sits down at a big family breakfast.
The story of how Jin and Mei-Li first met and how they laugh about how they both remember different versions.
After Ryan is shot, Sebastian comes to the hospital to see him. Ryan's, who don't know about their relationship, ask why he's there. Sebastian tries to leave but Mei-Li insists he stay.
After Zhilan's mother learns she murdered Pei-ling and disowns her, Nicky forgives her.
Nicky, Mia, and Zhilan all fighting Russell Tan together. When they learn one of them has to stay behind to stop him, they are all willing to do it.
When Nicky tries to stay behind with Russell, Zhilan says "You really are a hero" with genuine admiration.
Despite their hostile relationship, Yuen promises to give Daniel a proper Wan Zai burial and brings his belongings to Henry.
After the earthquake, Frank and several other people coming by to help clean up and fix Harmony Dumplings.
We last see Mia in the same monastery where Nicky trained, meditating and smiling.
Season 3
Zhilan reuniting with Simon Lau, the K-pop star she murdered, in the mysterious realm. Though he's understandably not happy to see her at first, she saves his life and he eventually invites her to join the other Warrior and Guardian spirits. He even tells her about meeting her mother.
The support the community gives Harmony Dumplings when it finally reopens.
Pei-ling being invited to the reopening of Harmony Dumplings even after Xiao's personality took over and hurt Mei-li.
In "Alias", Dennis' parents came to see the Shengs and offer their help by posting the bail requirements to help Nicky leave jail.
The heart-to-heart between Pei-ling and Mei-Li where Mei thanked Pei-ling for looking after Nicky.
Zhilan and Pei-Ling settling their differences after both were worried the other wouldn't forgive them (Zhilan for killing Pei-Ling and Pei-Ling for abandoning Zhilan after she killed their father).
