Even nightmarish games of cat and mouse can have their moments of levity, especially when the Killer and Survivors can come to some sort of twisted understanding.

  • If the Killer has all the Survivors on the ground bleeding out simultaneously, they might be inspired to line everyone up at the open exit gate and initiate a "race to the finish line" if they're feeling generous.
  • The Hillbilly’s Lightborn causes it to be immune to all light based forms of stun, meaning that the easiest way a Survivor can fight back is taken away from them. It can result in the quite hilarious sight of a Survivor desperately and continuously flashing a light at the Killer, wondering why it’s not working, while the Killer simply stares at them, waiting for them to realize, or angrily hacking away at them for being annoying.
  • Wesker brings quite a few moments of levity to the game despite his terrifying nature.
    • Several of his Add-Ons call back to Resident Evil in entertaining ways, such as stating "Few jobs are more dangerous than a helicopter pilot’s when Wesker is involved.", or deeming an egg as "A highly coveted foodstuff" (Relating back to Wesker's infamous "YOU WILL GIVE ME AN EGG" commands).
    • When performing his Mori, the Survivor actually lands a hit on him, knocking his glasses flying, which causes him to respond by impaling them with Ouroboros tendrils, before putting on a new set of glasses. Given the fact that all four players can be Mori'ed, this shows that Wesker is carrying at least four spare sets of glasses at all times. In addition, some players are noticing a parallel with Marvel vs. Capcom 3, where losing his glasses resulted in an increase in his power - The same is happening here, with the removal of his glasses allowing him to break The Entity's rules.
  • The Nemesis spawns with two zombies that roam the map; being blindsided by their presence while evading the Killer is all too common, and it grows hilarious in those rare instances you end up cornered by Nemesis and a zombie. Without a pallet or a flashlight, the Survivor can only await their fate.
  • The Hillbilly was incredibly wonky before he was "fixed". While you can still get funny moments with him, few can compare to the days when Hillbilly could leap across the map in a single bound. Heaven help you if such a Hillbilly was actually good at catching survivors like this.
  • Patch 5.1.1, along with all the bog-standard bug fixes and gameplay tweaks, contained the phrase, "fixed an issue that caused The Executioner's rear to be too flat."
  • The Executioner's regular stance obviously hearkens to the struggle he has dragging his blade around in Silent Hill 2, but the way that Pyramid Head's "head" is always tilted to the left as a result makes it often look like he's just constantly looking at you in a questioning way.
    • After doing his Mori wherein he drives the blade through the Survivor and they collapse to the ground, Pyramid Head shifts a bit to re-angle his sword, but his stance comes across as somewhat smug and pleased.
  • There's a little bit of Black Comedy in The Clown's backstory, where Kenneth walks home from work and finds out that his father discovered the contents of his cigar box. His immediate response is to turn around and leave.
  • Tome 13 introduced a new Mask cosmetic for The Ghost Face that fans have been clamoring for basically since his introduction. What mask, you may ask? None other than the Wassup Ghost Face.
    • There's something darkly hilarious about his mori involving him raising the head of his victim as they are bleeding out to take a selfie with them.
  • Some of the characters' grunts of pain can sound more than a bit suggestive, especially Leon's. Injuring him in a chase, or having him run by you while he's injured can make the entire thing more than a little laugh-inducing.
  • Similarly, some of the hook-screams of Survivors can be very over the top to where it leans into fullblown Narm. One of the biggest offenders of this is one of Feng Min's screams, which has been likened to a foghorn filled with helium due to the single consistent note and volume.
  • The Pig has a number of humorous elements. Since she's based on the diminutive Shawnee Smith, when The Pig gets hit and stunned by a pallet, she lets out a started little feminine squeak that is both humorous and adorable. Also, she's been crafted to be roughly the same height as the actress. Seeing how short she is during a match after playing against huge, muscular killers such as Hillbilly, Trapper, and Oni can also be humorous, though with her perks and no terror radius in a crouch, she can be just as fearsome, and the humor of it can disappear in a heck of a hurry. The last bit of humor comes from the fact that right before she launches her rush attack, she roars like a freaking tiger. While it will certainly startle a player the first few times, repeated matches against her highlight how incongruous and funny it is that she's developed the ability to roar before she sneak attacks you.
  • After you hit The Plague with a pallet, she'll get angry and curse at you in her dead language, which becomes pretty freaking funny after playing against her repeatedly. You can't understand what she's saying, but the tone of her voice lets you know it's pretty damn salty.
  • While most of Ash William's lines are a bit generic, Bruce Campbell gets to deliver a few zingers in the main lobby screen, such as "Look who's shittin' in the tall grass."
  • As of 2022, an amusing bug affects The Spirit during the start of Trials. Instead of the camera panning around the character as usual, the camera instead pulls in close to the ground, then swivels around and closes with a shot of her butt.
  • There's something somewhat amusing about the lore implying that Pinhead kinda just... showed up one day in the Fog without the Entity planning for him, and treats the whole Game like a fun work vacation. He even gets to basically steal victims from the Entity in his Mori by dragging them to Hell for his own amusement, which must piss the Entity off something fierce.
  • While most of dialogue is either threatening or an Accidental Innuendo, Pinhead retains his Deadpan Snarker status from his original source material. Occasionally, when hooking a Survivor, he will talk over the agonized howls of his victim with a flat "I must be going now".
  • When facing the Singularity, Survivors can accelerate Supply Cases' 3D-Printing of EMPs, which are used to temporarily disable Biopods and remove the Slipstream status effect. The accompanying animation is simply the Survivor pressing a button on the case (likely the "Print" one) repeatedly until it finishes printing.
  • The fact that NICOLAS CAGE HIMSELF is joining the game as a survivor is just as ludicrous as it sounds.
    • His perks are just as ludicrous, capable of screwing you over just as often as helping you. The fact that two of them make you scream seemingly (or actually) at random and the one that doesn't silently damages you is just silly. This isn't including the Hijinks from using the perks to dick around with the killer.
    • Nicolas Cage also has some funny voice lines such as, "I'm completely and utterly cow tit fucked!".
    • He even has lines against Myers and Sadako, mocking the latter's chase music and muttering about how he loves him a bit of Sadako.
    • When loading the map, he lampshades the idea of how people enjoy playing as a survivor trying to survive against a Serial Killer.
"How can this be any fun for anybody? This is certainly not fun for me."
  • The description of the True Blight cosmetic states that Talbot now has "flowers growing out of almost every orifice." While it's mainly referring to the holes on his face, just think about that for a moment.
  • Upon the release of the Xenomorph, it didn't take the fandom long to notice (especially since the release trailer drew attention to it with a pan-around shot) that the Queen legendary skin is surprisingly "sculpted" in the hindquarters.
  • The Nostromo Wreckage map has a few amusing easter eggs. When a survivor enters a locker, there's a chance that Jones will meow and come running out. Another area has a facehugger-esque creature fling itself against a pane of glass and scream when a player gets close enough, which manages to be a genuinely jarring Jump Scare and outright silly at the same time.
  • The Chucky chapter adds the titular killer doll to the roster, and his blend of terror and comedy is not forgotten.
    • His animations for picking up survivors have his spirit pick the doll and the survivor up, with the doll slashing at the survivor impotently like a child who had a toy taken from them.
    • Compared to the more talkative killers like The Mastermind or The Trickster, Chucky will not shut up, and spends most of the match either laughing maniacally or talking shit to everyone he interacts with.
"That's what you get when you play with dolls!"
"I'm gonna kick your fuckin teeth in!"
"Why're you runnin'? I'm the Good Guy!"
    • He also has specific lines where he recognizes (and even seems a little intimidated by) Ash Williams and Nicolas Cage.
    • He does not like being flashlight blinded (A sentiment many killers mains can relate to.)
"I'm gonna break that flashlight over your fuckin' head!"
    • Tiffany gets in on it too, mixing genuine supportive motherly comments to the Survivors with vitriol and even `self encouragement` ("Let's go, Tiff!") . Perhaps most hilarious is her stopping to note how dramatic and over the top the Survivor's hook scream is note
"What a drama queen, you don't have to scream every time you're hooked. Seriously."
  • In a dark way, The Unknown's lore. Most of it focuses on a recounting of the various theories of what the thing is or incidents where it attacked people, before shifting to it stalking an investigator into it. The Unknown does the usual Creepypasta prelude, flickering the lights, taunting the investigators with stolen voices, and creepily waiting in the bathroom as the investigator comes closer... only for all that to suddenly stop. As it turns out, The Unknown may be a Humanoid Abomination, but all its antics over the years attracted the attention of a proper Eldritch Abomination in the form of the Entity, who promptly drags it kicking and screaming into its realm. There's just something inherently funny about the idea of an Analog Horror monster like the Unknown suddenly getting one-upped and stopped dead in the middle of one its hauntings by virtue of Attracting Bigger Fish.
