This is still a murder-mystery game.
Much like the first game, this one has quite a lot of comedy for a game about brutal serial murders.
  • The Late-Arrival Spoiler quiz at the beginning of the game has some unique responses for certain answers.
    • Answering with the correct characters' last names will make the host get frustrated with your inability to listen to his instructions.
    • Answering with "Kagami" to the first question will have the host say the inspector will be pleased to hear someone remembered his name. Say "Kagami" is the culprit from the first game and the host will say it's "not even worth the joke". Answering with "Kaniza" will have the host respond with "It's Kagami!", along with a 100 point penalty for the first question and a 1,000,000 point penalty for the second. Answering with "Araya" (Kagami's first name) will have the host say that you're "pretty hardcore" for knowing that, to the point of it being kinda weird and creeping him out.
    • Answering with the names of more obscure characters (e.g. Dokuta, Takushi, Chinpei) will get the host to praise you for remembering obscure character names.
    • Answering with "Ritsuko" (the receptionist) will be met with the host saying "That's the big-boobie Receptionist's name!" and "Tiddies tiddies tiddies tiddies... Yeah!!!"
  • Once again, an AI-Ball goofs off in Boss' office. This time, Tama lounges around in her cleavage.
  • The mystery of the creepy voice that Date always heard in the locker of the Psync room? The cleaning lady. It honestly raises more questions.
  • Aiba continues her tradition of silly Somnium antics.
    • When Mizuki enters Ryuki's Somnium, the first thing shown is Aiba singing and dancing to "Invincible Rainbow Arrow" from the first game.
    • One option for getting Ryuki to start talking in his Somnium is to slap him. Aiba chides Mizuki for this since assaulting someone in police custody is illegal. Mizuki reminds Aiba that this is a dream, then she has no problem with it. So she repeatedly smacks the shit out of him until Mizuki chides her for breaking police protocol. This is far from the only time that you can use physical violence on Ryuki in this Somnium.
    • Aiba can pet one of the Ryukis so fast that his hair catches fire and stays that way.
    • Aiba can try cheering Ryuki up by wearing a Jack-o-Lantern... which she and all following Ryukis continue to wear for the remainder of the Somnium.
    • On two occasions, the option for Aiba to shoot herself comes up and she doesn't even question it, much to Mizuki's confusion, causing her to tell her not to. Only for her to shoot herself anyway, knocking herself out.
      • The first time, she calmly asks what method to use, disarming Mizuki into wondering how she could be okay with this order. She says she isn't but trusts Mizuki's orders, only for Mizuki to feel guilty and tell her to ignore the request, but Aiba shoots herself immediately. After she wakes up, Mizuki remarks that her nose and ears have been through a lot. To which Aiba responds that she "has other holes" and will be fine.
      • The second time, she's ecstatic at the prospect, thinking how poetic an AI committing suicide is. She pulls the trigger with a smile on her face, only to be disappointed when she wakes up. Mizuki says it was a waste of courage and time.
    • Elsewhere in the Somnium, Aiba can attempt to cheer Ryuki up with a picture of Ganesha, the god of healing... and inexplicably diagnoses Ryuki with anal fissures.
    • One time inspecting one of the fake Ryukis that's laying down has Aiba doing a bunch of random things on him like pirouetting on him, laying next to him in the same pose to imitate him, and sitting on him while thinking.
  • Date's reason for wearing a Saito mask? Because it's the face that people recognize him for and because chicks dig the look.
    • One of the tips explains what happened to the mask while Date had been missing for six years. It explains he stopped wearing it when he lost his memories, but then put it back on after regaining them, because "a hostess girl at Nakameguro remembers this face."
  • Ryuki seeing Tama in her projected form for the first time in the game. His choices include screaming like a little girl, roaring like a vicious beast, shouting "Who are you?", or reciting the sutras. Each one ends with Tama yelling at him to stop shouting. He responds by saying he thought "the ghost of an S and M pervert with a police uniform fetish who died an a tanning booth had come to haunt [him]."
    • Reciting the sutras takes so long that in the middle of the option, it fades to black to skip to the end. For some reason, Tama let him finish reciting them.
  • Date's porn-powered "super mode" returns. The first time it's revealed in the game, he casually whips out a porn magazine, reads it for a while, screams "porn mag power" while doing the Standard Power Up Pose, then swiftly knocks the bad guys out.
    • If asked about it in Komeji and Shoma’s route, he explains that the reason for such condition of his is that he got bit by a venomous snake just as he discovered a porn mag for the first time ever when he was young, and such a near-death experience causes porn mags to give him an adrenaline rush. Literally nobody in the room believes him, or if they do, become even more skeptical and disgusted.
    • It comes back again in Gen and Amame's route, when Date explains how his amnesiac self was able to escape Tearer's capture thanks to a snake. Since the explanation happened in a different timeline, everybody present is just completely baffled by the irrelevant mention of a snake.
  • When Ryuki asks Komeji about the latter's frequent visits to Sunfish Pocket, Ryuki wonders if Komeji goes there to ogle at the waitresses like going to cabaret clubs. Suddenly Date jumps in, asking who just mentioned cabaret clubs.
  • Everyone still forgets Kagami’s name… even Kagami himself.
    • At one point Kagami eventually suggests Ryuki just give him a nickname he's sure to remember and call him that.
Ryuki: I'll call you Kagami! That's easy to remember.
      Kagami: (sobbing) Why me....
  • While most of Amame's first Somnium is Nightmare Fuel, Komeji in the dream does manage to be funny for a moment before the Ultimate 50/50 round.
Komeji: There are 10 questions. If you need to use the restroom, do it now...
Tama: It's fine, I've never used the bathroom in my life.
Komeji: What? Do you have an image to maintain?
  • Like Date, Mizuki compares Aiba's appearance to a shrimp, much to the latter's chagrin.
  • This following exchange between Mizuki, Boss, and Aiba:
    Mizuki: I want a drink...
Boss: You're only 18, so no.
    Aiba: Then I'll partake...
    Boss: And you're 12!
Mizuki: Hold up, Aiba, can you even drink?
  • Ryuki acting as Amame during the VR investigation of Komeji's body at Studio Dvaita. He uses an extremely shrill falsetto to mimic the "mermaid".
  • The masked woman makes some very snarky excuses for why she won't remove her mask such as having bad acne or claiming that it's actually saving lives since she's so beautiful that all the men present would die from hemorrhaging nosebleeds if they saw her face.
  • Wink-Psyncing with Ota or Moma in Iris's presence reveals that they're fanboying over her. In contrast, Iris is thinking about something more plot-relevant.
  • Moma receives a voice-changing collar as a gift, which is set to Iris' voice. The Wink Psync reveals that he has used the collar to act out his fantasies of Iris. However, after having some fun with it while drunk, he forgets where he left the collar's key. Even worse, he ends up nearly asphyxiated from wearing the collar for too long. As Lien struggles to pick the lock (revolted by Moma's breath), Mizuki resorts to using X-ray vision to find the key instead. The key turns out to be hung on an Iris figurine inside Moma's hidden safe.
  • The, "There is a receptionist sitting behind the desk," sequence is repeated from the first game, except this time it's being said by Tama and fully voiced. Then later the game does it again with Aiba, except with "huge breasts" being replaced with "big tiddy". And, much like the previous game, there is an irrelevant ending where Ryuki runs off with the receptionist.
Mizuki: [to Aiba] Are you malfunctioning?
  • Iris has another game-themed Somnium, this time based on “Kusemon GO”. The player has to collect Kusemons which are projections of the game’s cast members to battle the “villains” of this sequence.
    • So Sejima wearing a classic Pokémon trainer cap is quite a sight to behold.
    • The correct response to recruit Mizuki? "Let's defeat Date together."
    • Tearer reveals themselves as the Final Boss of So's Mansion and makes the Jonathan Joestar pose.
    • Choosing the correct character and move can help you easily mow down the bosses, such as Date’s “Treasure” attack being able to one-shot bonus character F, whose sole attack can insta-kill the final boss. It adds an extra bit of irony since Iris, Ryuki, and Tama will still remark on how the bosses seemed like formidable foes even though you managed to one-shot them without them using a single attack.
    • Poor poor Kagami can't catch a break, even in the Somnium world:
      • Unlike any other Kusemon, who can only be recruited by giving the correct response, Kagami will join you regardless of whether you get his name right.
      • If you choose to call him Kaniza, even the menus for Kusemon will stick to calling him Kaniza.
      • His one attack is literally just him yelling "It's Kagami!"
      • To top it all off, he's the only Kusemon in the Somnium with [C] rarity, the lowest one.
  • The very first time Lien joins an action scene, his preferred weapon is...a giant key. Whsn he's asked as to why he has it, he just says he was looking for a weapon and 'had it lying around'. God knows the size of the lock that goes with it.
  • Ota's present-day profile says his age is "30?! Seriously?!" and mentions that he's still a virgin.
  • The first time Mizuki meets up with Ota and Iris, she can Wink-Psync into either of them with similar results. "Eggplant, eggplant, I love eggplant, mapo tofu, I love mapo tofu..."
  • In Gen's Somnium, Aiba is tasked with winning a Iron Chef-inspired cooking contest against Gen. But Gen is an excellent chef, and Aiba has never cooked before, so Mizuki suggests that she train for it. Aiba says that this would take a lot more time than they have, but Mizuki smugly points out that they have a 1 second timie. Sure enough, the training option is for a ridiculous amount of time (the equivalent of a year in seconds), but using the timie shortens it mechanically to 1 second.
    • Completing the quick time events without error during the cookoff leads to Aiba creating increasingly absurd dishes. The first is a seafood dish tossed into the sky to season it with "fresh air", followed by a horrifying combination of a steak and six fried chicken wings positioned to look like a insect carcass (and appeal to Aiba's love of bugs), with the last being a tower cake of infinite height baked using a recipe provided by literal gods.
  • Using infrared vision on Gen at the docks has Mizuki exclaim "Oh no, I'm making him horny!" Aiba then admonishes that she doesn't have "nearly enough sex appeal" for that.
  • At the Enda residence, examining the kotatsu and the Ame-no-Uzume leads to Aiba teasing Mizuki. If Shoma is at home, Mizuki reacts to Aiba out loud, much to his confusion.
  • After the Masked Woman beats up Ryuki at Misetan, Mizuki asks her why she did that. She dodges the question.
Mizuki: Why did you punch him out of nowhere like that?!
Masked Woman: I kicked him too.
    Mizuki: That's not the point!
Masked Woman: It's not like I hit him in a weak spot...
    Mizuki: That's not an answer!
  • Aiba and Mizuki (or Bibi) have several jabs at each other for being flat-chested to annoy the other, with none of them having much room to talk.
  • Upon discovering the body in Brahman's freezer in the final route, Mizuki has a bit of a breakdown.
Mizuki: Argh, what the fuck?! This is information overload! My brains are gonna flow out of my ears!
    Bibi: Geez, just relax.
Mizuki: I can't just relax! (looks at the body) What is this corpse doing here?! (looks at Kizuna and Lien) And why are Kizzy and Lien here?! (looks at Bibi) And most importantly... (looks at Date disguised as Gen) Who the hell is this?!
    Date: What, isn't it obvious?
Mizuki: Wait, you're that stupid porno-mag-collecting old man.
    Date: ...no.
    Aiba: Yes!
  • When thermite bombs are found in Shoma's closet, his initial nonchalance can be rather disarming.
Date: Hey, Shoma! What is this?!
    Shoma: It's a bomb. A thermite bomb.
    Date: I know that!
Shoma: Then why did you ask...?
    Bibi: Why is it here?
    Shoma: I made it.
    Date: You made it?!
Shoma: Thermite reactions are pretty simple. You can make one easily using common products...
  • Where will the Nirvana Initiative's launch take place?
    *Boss's Residence*
Boss: Are you trying to destroy my house...?
Bibi: Your room already looks like a rocket went off in there, Mama...
    Mizuki: "Mama"?!
Boss: I told you not to call me that at work!
    Bibi: Sorry, old habits...
    *Date Residence*
Date: At my place?! Let's go, Mizuki! I've gotta save my porno mags from going up in flames!
Mizuki: I told you, I already got rid of those!
    *The Gigantic*
Pewter: I know! The sister ship of the Titanic! Wait, no...that sank already.
  • Right before the final showdown at the stadium, Date, in the process of pumping up for battle, makes a Freudian Slip and ends up telling the others: "Let's get groping". Aiba requests permission to kill Date after the battle is over, which Mizuki accepts.
Aiba: Mizuki, please allow me to terminate Date after all this is over.
Mizuki: Not if I do it first.
  • During the epilogue, we see that Ota spent enough money at Sunfish Pocket to obtain the Orichalcum trident. Mizuki thanks him for his patronage since she owns the restaurant and he's technically paying her.
  • The fact that there's yet another Dance Party Ending is pretty funny, but the fact that the bonus mode allows the player to use every model to do the dance, including those that aren't there for the Grand Finale just pushes it from enjoyable and funny to outright hilarious. Especially when you see people like Tokiko and Tearer doing the dance.
    • Chikara's version of the dance deserves special mention. While Tokiko may remain stoic during her dance, Chikara explicitly looks like he hates being there. His expressions range from melancholy to anguished.
