Go To

In All For Luz, there are plenty of characters that are foils to each other else in some shape or form.

    open/close all folders

Luz Noceda

    To All For One
  • Luz Noceda and Rikitasu Shigaraki are both users of the All For One Quirk. Luz is a teenaged, Latina girl and newbie vigilante and Shigaraki is a 150-year old, grown Japanese man and veteran Supervillain.
  • They're both avid manga readers and are both among the first Quirk users in their respective worlds who have suffered Fantastic Racism for it.
  • Luz prefers to win fights as quickly as possible and doesn't (usually) enjoy hurting and killing her enemies. Shigaraki, on the other hand, is a genuine Sadist who takes delight in tormenting his victims and dragging out their suffering.
  • Luz often has My God, What Have I Done? moments, especially when her actions hurt innocent people, Shigaraki being The Sociopath is incapable of such regrets.
  • While both won the Superpower Lottery, Luz is the one who actually wants to do something of value with her gifts, while Shigaraki, despite having experienced death, remains a spiteful, ignorant, and sociopathic man who thinks he has a right to Take Over the World simply because he has the opportunity.
  • Luz goes from The Hero Nice Girl to a Jerk with a Heart of Gold Anti-Hero over the course of story, loosens her moral code but doesn't lose it. At the end of the day, Shigaraki cares for nobody and nothing except himself, seeking to impose his vision of being an almighty conqueror on the entire multiverse no matter the cost, and proves himself incapable of change or growth on his own. This is one of the reasons why Luz was able to achieve Quirk Awakening but not Shigaraki.

    To Amity
  • Both have Quirks thanks to All For One. Luz got his Quirk at the start of the story after his death, while Amity got One For All due his Quirk experiments on her parents.
  • Both have had a Thou Shall Not Kill policy, something they couldn't uphold. They also have a good relationship with their mother.

    To Emperor Belos
  • Both ended up in the Demon Realm with a purpose. Phillip went there to "rescue" Caleb, while Luz did so to start a new life for herself.
  • Emperor Belos misses the Human Realm. Luz, on the other hand, has no desire to go back due to her Hero with Bad Publicity status.
  • Luz loves the Boiling Isles, moreso than she loved Earth, and forges strong relationships with some of the witches and demons living there, even coming to regard Eda and King as her surrogate family. Emperor Belos, by contrast, hates the Boiling Isles and its residents so much that he killed his own brother for falling in love with a witch, and his goal is to facilitate the genocide of all witches.
  • Both changed their names to escape their dark pasts when they ended up in the Boiling Isles.

    To Kennedy
  • Luz Noceda and Kennedy Jennkins are two superhuman teenagers who were among the kidnapped children heading to Reality Check Summer Camp.
  • Luz is a Nice Girl Otaku that enjoys anime and manga, while Kennedy Jerk Jock that enjoys taking part in sports teams, like basketball.
  • Both come from families struggling financially, but only Kennedy is kill to change this.
  • They're both made The Leader of their respective teams, The Alpha Squadron and Heaven's Devils. Luz admits to her team nervous to actually be leading a team for the first time but will do her best. Kennedy, on the other hand, enjoys barking orders to others, and spearheaded the slaughter of half of Luz's new friends.
  • Luz is first to figure that Governor Maxwell doesn’t plan to give any money to the victor but instead plans to kill them off, too. Kennedy never catches on and believes that the Antagonistic Governor will keep his word on allowing him to live and be rewarded with $10 billion if he wins.
  • Kennedy is willing get his team to kill for him out of Greed. Luz sends her surviving team away to safety, as she wipes out the other 2 teams with own hands for Revenge against the slaughter of half her squad.

    To Emilia
  • Luz Noceda and Emilia Worstoch are 2 superhuman 14-year-old girls who were among the kidnapped children that were heading to Reality Check Summer Camp.
  • Luz won the Superpower Lottery with her Power Parasite Quirk, Emilia, on the other hand, has a Combat Clairvoyance Quirk that wasn't really all that powerful, All For One didn't believe it was worth stealing.
  • They're both made The Leader of their respective teams, The Alpha Squadron and Foxtrot. Luz's team genuinely respected her leadership and did their best to pull their weight for her. Emilia's team committed coup on her, as they wanted to go along with Kennedy's plan to wipe out The Alpha Squadron and she refused out of Everyone Has Standards, making her Authority in Name Only.
  • Emilia never personally killed anyone and was never on board with the slaughter of Luz's team in the first place. Luz, when pushed to Rage Breaking Point, went on a Roaring Rampage of Revenge that resulted in a near Total Part Kill of her 2 enemy teams.

    To Riley
  • Luz and Riley are both Clashing Cousins with close-range Quirks.
  • Luz has killed in the name of self-defense and avenging her loved ones. Riley as an assassin who killed in the name of money.

    To Hunter
  • They both multiple Quirks that originated from Shigaraki.

All For One

    To Emperor Belos
  • They're both ancient, powerful evils within their universes who are deeply connected with their power system: Emperor Belos hating and banning Wild Magic and creating the Coven System and All For One having his Quirk to take and give what he wants.
  • They usually work behind the scenes, having their armies fight for them. Additionally, they manipulated a young, aggressive fighter and based them off someone important to them: Emperor Belos with Hunter, and All For One with Tomura Shigaraki.
  • Emperor Belos collects Palismen to keep him alive and from turning into a monster, while All For One collects Quirks to increase the length of his life and power.
  • They also have the ability to take other people's powers: Belos can brand people with Sigils and All For One can take Quirks for himself.
  • Moreover, they have awful relationships with their brothers due to the fact that they had, in their eyes, betrayed them (Belos' brother fell in love with a witch and Yoichi had joined the resistance fighting against him.
  • Shigaraki wants to take over the Boiling Isles, Belos wants to wipe it out and its inhabitants.
  • All For One is a Card-Carrying Villain that revels in the evil he does, while Belos is a Knight Templar who thinks he's a good guy no matter what.

Julia Wittebane

    To Willow Park

    To Amity Blight
  • Luz has All For One and Amity has One For All.

Tyler Wittebane

    To Pastor Domenico
  • Tyler Wittebane and Pastor Domenico are both religious men with 2 very different moral compasses.
  • Tyler is a Sinister Minister who owns a far-right, conservative Mega Church that appears to be on the Protestant side of Christianity, while Domenico is a Turbulent Priest who owns a more modest church on the Catholic side with progressive views.
  • The Wittebane patriarch is a Heteronormative Crusader, being sick at the very thought of same-sex relationships, Domenico, however, the pastor sees the lgbt community as valid (even though he admits he doesn't known much about them).
  • Tyler more than willing to disown his own kids if they have superpowers out of Fantastic Racism, while the pastor is an Open-Minded Parent who sees the Mass Super-Empowering Event as a blessing from God, as his grandson was one of them.
  • Tyler Wittebane is Egocentrically Religious who's convinced himself that he was chosen by God to rid the world of super-powered people, the pastor has no such delusions and is more grounded to earth.
  • Domenico is one of Luz's few allies, letting her know that even if she isn't religious, as a friend of her mother, she's always welcome at his church, as well as giving his blessings to avenge Julia's death, seeing her as a Messiah Archetype. Tyler, on the other hand, is an Arc Villain regards Luz as the Antichrist for being potentially the powerful superhuman and has hired assassins to try and kill the girl and her mother.

    To Emperor Belos
  • Tyler Wittebane and Emperor Belos are 2 Big Bads in the story that both share Complexity Addiction, are part of the Wittebane family and Fantastic Racism against the supernatural. Despite this they're both Hypocrites that aren't above hiring such people, if it benefits them. The main difference is Tyler does acknowledge this trait, he just doesn't care if he's called out on this.
  • Emperor Belos once met and fought the first All For One in the Boiling Isles, while Tyler Wittebane has sent various assassins to try and do the dirty work for him to his Legacy Character in the Human Realm.
  • Although both grew up in Gravesfield, Tyler was born into wealth and privilege in the 20th century, while Belos had more humble beginnings as a peasant boy in the 1600s.
  • They're both insanely, self-absorbed Narcissists, that have convinced himself that they're The Chosen One to rid the world of the supernatural, seeing them as unholy abominations against God, this includes witches, demons and Quirk users.
  • Emperor Belos is a Politically Incorrect Villain towards the denizens of the Demon Realm, Tyler has expanded is bigotry towards the lgbt community and non-white people having equal rights. This is especially ironic as Tyler has been born into era much more progressive than Philip's.

Kennedy Jenkins

    To Stanley
  • Stanley Richardson and Kennedy Jenkins are 2 teenaged, superhuman boys who were childhood friends and among the oldest of the kidnapped children heading to summer camp.
  • They were also part of the same soccer team at their school for years, and enjoyed playing basketball, with Stanley is a Lovable Jock with a strong moral compass and Kennedy is a Jerk Jock who was willing to take part in the Deadly Game for money.
  • Stanley is a Nice Guy with a Heroic Build, while Kennedy is described as being Lean and Mean, and has no quarrels spearheading murders.
  • Kennedy is more than okay with handing Luz over to the Governor, Stanley refuses to give his leader up to his Evil Former Friend in a case of Screw the Money, I Have Rules!
  • Kennedy foolishly believes that the Antagonistic Governor will keep his word on allowing him to live and be rewarded with $10 billion if he wins, Stanley correctly believes their kidnapper is a liar and it'd be unwise to trust his word.
  • Stanley is willing to put his life on the line for his teammates, who he has known for a few days, Kennedy is a Dirty Coward who'll abandon his teammates when things go south and was planning to keep all of the prize money to himself.
  • Stanley is one of the few survivors of the Death Camp, Kennedy is the last one to die by Luz's hands.

    To Emilia
  • Kennedy Jenkins and Emilia Worstoch are 2 superhuman teenagers who were among the kidnapped children originally heading to summer camp.
  • They're both made The Leader of their respective teams, Heaven's Devils and Foxtrot. While Emilia was apprehensive about becoming a team leader, Kennedy took the position in his stride and likes bossing others around to do his dirty work for him. He even ends up contolling 2 of the 3 teams.
  • Kennedy was willing to believe that the Antagonistic Governor that kidnapped them will keep his word on allowing him to live and be rewarded with $10 billion if he kills Luz and spearheading the assault, making him the Token Evil Teammate. Emilia was never on board with killing anyone in the first place out of Everyone Has Standards, making her the Token Good Teammate of the whole joint alliance.
  • When at the mercy of Luz after failing to pull a Screw This, I'm Outta Here on her, both of them Ain't Too Proud to Beg when caught. The Anti-Hero decided to spare Emilia's life as the Sole Survivor, the same can't be said about Kennedy who suffers a Cruel and Unusual Death by her literal hands.
