Operation: Deep Sea Burial is a Discord roleplay that takes place on an underwater base, having the same formula of the famous series Danganronpa itself- Ultimates are trapped in a setting, forced to play a killing game. While Monokuma is still present in the roleplay, a half-human half-robot named ATLAS also stars as an antagonist in the roleplay, working under Monokuma himself.

Tropes applying to all students
- Cast of Snowflakes: Everyone is rather interesting in their own right. They have their own ultimate talent, appearance, personality, etc.!
- Limited Wardrobe: All of them wear the same clothes. Not that they have a choice.
- Misery Builds Character: As expected of Danganronpa, this is heavy in the story. Danganronpa is all about murder and all that fancy jazz, so of course you would expect suffering to either make or break a character.
- Ship Tease: A lot of the characters get shipped and/or teased. A popular one is ATLAS and Valentina, of course!
- Teen Genius: Given that everybody here is an Ultimate and are teenagers, you can expect this.
Males
Ultimate Sailor
Growing up in a pretty wealthy family, Kosuke’s father owned a boat and often took him out on the water, which is where he was happiest. When he was old enough, he eventually learned how to sail a boat and got one of his own. He was constantly on the water, determined to sail the world and learn all there is about the ocean, which is what he went and began to do. While doing this, he kept records of all he’s experienced and all his travels. He got the attention of others when these records, the multiple unique and informative maps, and his unique ways if sailing were published and recognized by many people around the world, and was then recognized as the Ultimate Sailor.
- Idiot Hair: In the shape of a fish hook too! As expected of a sailor!
- Ship Tease: At the beginning he was shipped with Bass.
Ultimate Acupuncturist
Hito wears his school uniform because he brought no other clothes with him. His uniform consists of a white dress shirt, a dull red vest, long khaki pants with a black belt to secure them to his thin frame, and black dress shoes and socks. He also wears a copper wristwatch on his right hand and a pair of glasses.
Hito was born to his father, an American man who left Japan when he found his mistress was pregnant, and his mother, Hisei Hakui, who died in childbirth. He was immediately sent to the nearest orphanage, a large Christian orphanage that supported children in schooling K-12, but only at the large private school on campus.
All throughout his life at the orphanage, he suffered terrible abuse, mainly from the other boys who teased him for his weakness. As such, he became a very emotionally weak individual. When he was a bit older, around 13, he was allowed to have a pet. He got his cat, Felix, immediately and loved him so much. He had no friends, so Felix was really his only solace from the other orphaned children.
A year or so after getting Felix, he came to his room to find Felix was missing, and a note suggesting that some of the other boys in his building had stolen Felix. He fell into depression quickly afterwards. When he was 15, he finally made a human friend. His name was Fuko Yoshida. Fuko was newly orphaned and was 17. He found a place to stay permanently: a small acupuncture shop in a tiny village of north Japan. The shop was not super successful, but it was enough to get by, and Hito was happy.

- Apologizes a Lot: Yup, he is definitely known to do this.
- Beware the Nice Ones: During chapter 2 in the trial, ATLAS dared Hito to shoot someone. He tried to shoot Norio, but ended up deciding to shoot Rinka.
- In-Series Nickname: Stutters by Hayato.
- Kick the Dog: He is very self-deprecating, and he gets called out and/or hurt a lot because of it. His mental state just went downwards when he shot Rinka in the hip.
- No Social Skills: He stutters a lot and is nervous around people. Doesn't help that he hates himself too and thinks the worse from people.
- Ship Tease: He and Asari. They actually got together, but broke up. Hito and Akio seemed to be another possible ship.
Ultimate Vandal
His parents had him at a young age, which lead to them resenting him. They rarely paid attention to him, and when they did, it was… very negative attention. At the age of 8, someone named Dorian took him under their wing at school while tutoring him (Haruka has never made anything above a B in his life except in art classes). Unfortunately, Dorian wasn’t a fantastic influence on children- though they were a good person, they were also a troublemaker, which started Haruka’s passion for rule breaking. During an earthquake, part of the school collapsed on Haruka and Dorian, and Haruka had to watch as Dorian died from their lung being punctured. Haruka’s parents decided to homeschool him after that incident, because people from the school were beginning to notice signs of something being really wrong with Haruka’s life and began to question why Haruka wasn’t receiving any therapy for the loss of Dorian. Haruka began becoming skilled at sneaking out, and started getting mixed up in gangs. At 12, he watched as the police beat up one of his friends while the friend was having a panic attack.
This lead to him becoming interested in activism (and was only the beginning of his intense hatred for cops). His work became famous online, because he had a unique style that almost turned vandalizing property into a work of art. Eventually, he attempted suicide (his life had become too stressful), and his parents moved to his grandfather’s house in Japan at his grandfather’s request. Soon his father passed away under somewhat suspicious circumstances. He pushed Haruka to improve his skills so that he would be noticed by Hope’s Peak. At 16 (he was held back a couple times in America), he was accepted into Hope’s Peak Academy as the Ultimate Vandal.
- Affectionate Nickname: Haruka gets called Haru by Norio.
- Cruel to Be Kind: Akio called Hito to the desolate room to fight him. He was hoping Hito would fight back, but Hito didn't, believing he deserved it when the purpose was to show that Hito didn't deserve it.
- In-Series Nickname: Akio gets called Grumpypants by Hayato and Kio by Norio. Haruka is called Lollipop Head by Hayato and Haru by Norio. At times people just use Kato.
- Ship Tease: He attracts all the attention. Haruka and Norio, for one, but they broke up near chapter 2. For Akio, he seemed to be shipped with Hito and Moon-soo.
Ultimate Tattoo Artist
He wears as much black as he can. Typically a white, oversized t-shirt with a leather jacket and ripped black skinny jeans.He used to be just like all the other boys. Outgoing, kind and had a colorful wardrobe. That didn't change until his parents split up. His mom left without a trace one day, and his dad fell into alcohol abuse. He was neglected quite often but that only lasted a year. He was moved into his aunt’s house while his father was in prison. He slowly started to fall into a depression. He self harmed and began to wear more black in year 7. His aunt tried to bond with him but failed as he began to isolate himself more and more. Then he reached year 10 and he came out of his shell a bit more and just stopped caring. He did stupid things all the time and was feuled by attention. That leads us to present day. The lovable, asshole, attention seeking Asari.

Ultimate Hypnotist
Hippo appears rather intimidating. Would that be the right word? He looks like… the kind of kid you’d want to obey if he told you not to show up at school on Tuesday. He’s scrawny, with sunken eyes and a somber appearance. Rather pale. He really barely looks 17 - more like a 14-year-old who hasn’t slept in days.
- Cruel and Unusual Death: Chapter 2’s victim/murderer.
- In-Series Nickname: Hippo apparently!
Ultimate Taekwondo Practitioner
Norio is a fair-skinned teenager with a slightly feminine and skinny build, standing at a mere five feet and four inches, though he does mainly have muscles on his legs. He has orange hair that is spiky with his bangs mainly swept to the right, then having a heart-shaped face with a button-like nose and slightly rosy cheeks. His eyes are upturned and a light purple to fuschia color.
For his outfit, Norio would be wearing a simple dark gray collared shirt with a navy blue plaid pattern blazer over him that is not buttoned, then wearing black tight-fitted jeans with red-laced black combat boots that reach up to his knees.
There was nothing special about his backstory here! He’s mainly a happy and spoiled child with a loving family.Growing up in a family as a single child, Norio was usually spoiled and loved by his parents. Although his mother usually worked for long hours as a scientist and his father worked overtime during the night, Norio was usually sent plenty of gifts and presents from his family. If any of his parents were ever given the day off, they would obviously spoil Norio and take him out to eat or to places so he can have fun. If anything, his life with them was very loving and nurturing.
Norio was placed into taekwondo as a young kid. Mainly because of the want for parents to keep their children stimulated and safe, Norio was placed into training to protect himself and have fun while they were gone at work. While Norio was initially against the idea for the sole reason that he wanted to stay with his parents back home, he eventually grew into loving the idea of training in the practices of taekwondo, falling in love with it itself and becoming the best that he can be through practicing and whatnot until he became the Ultimate Taekwondo Practitioner.
- Attention Whore: He claims himself as ‘the one and only Norio Kadenokouji’, always calls himself the best, and screams loudly. He definitely does this for attention though. It is known he’s very needy and has a need to be around people.
- Badass Adorable: He's a short guy who smiles a lot and acts like a dumbass, but he can pack a punch!
- In-Series Nickname: Gooderman by Hayato.
- Keet: Literally dabs and screams a lot during the beginning of the roleplay.
- Kick the Dog: When he stabbed Hito during the first chapter for seemingly no reason.
- Motor Mouth: He likes to speak a lot, especially during the beginning. He just rambles on and on about himself and whatever.
- Ship Tease: With Haruka. Before they broke up immediately afterwards.
Ultimate Deceiver
He wears a white button-up undershirt, somewhat proper for a school uniform, wearing plain black pants and then black and white sneakers. Hayato wears a light-rose colored vest over his white button-up undershirt. He wears a black tie, and for some unknown reason, always appears to have some kind of bruise covered up with bandaids on his fingers and arms. Wears black earrings. Three on each side. He also wears black fingerless gloves and carries a small that he usually keeps on one side of his shoulder. Sometimes wears sunglasses. Or fedoras. Or a tie. Basically has a multitude of random accessories to whip out and put on when the situation is jokingly right.
- Bullying a Dragon: He is not afraid to call out and mess around with anyone. He'll do it to people such as Bass or ATLAS, for example, almost getting himself killed.
- Butt-Monkey: Apparently Hayato's going to get through all the suffering here. Plenty of people beat him up, especially ATLAS. Not that he minds though, he likes egging people on.
- Crazy-Prepared: He has lots of stuff he uses against people, especially the knives he stole from the kitchen.
- The Friend Nobody Likes: He doesn’t exactly expect people to like him, he already knows everyone (or so we think) doesn’t.
- The Gadfly: Yeah, he loves to provoke and make fun of people.
- Mirth to Power: He likes to joke around and mess with people, not afraid of pissing others off by what stunts or jokes he pulls. He's not afraid to mess with ATLAS, after all.
- The Nicknamer: He gives lots of people nicknames, whether lovingly or not (mainly not). For example, he calls Hito 'Stutters' and Akio 'Grumpypants'.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: He's giving these out a lot.
- Token Evil Teammate: Out of everybody in the cast excluding Monokuma and ATLAS, Hayato is the antagonistic character of the group.
- What the Hell, Hero?: He tends to call people out for their bullshit a lot, even if he says it insultingly.
Ultimate Vlogger
Moon-soo’s general appearance consists of cutesy clothing, often pastels as they give off a sweet vibe. However, he can often be found in comfortable clothes such as his main outfit.

- Ship Tease: Seemed to be shipped with Kato.
- Sweet Tooth: He really, really, REALLY loves sugar. He'll eat sugar from a jar, add sugar to ice cream, to pasta, anything!

- Brilliant, but Lazy: He could help out in the trial, but he prefers not to. He just watches everyone speak in the background.
- Cruel to Be Kind: Him cutting out Akio's hand. Akio was the one who volunteered (in order to help advance the trial, and because of ATLAS) and Bass only did it since he's an expert in this type of work.
- Jack of All Trades: He's very good when it comes to helping people. Apparently people go to him for advice on stuff, or he just acts as a doctor or whatnot.
- Loyal Animal Companion: His pet fish, Deagle!
- The Ace: Unsurprisingly, he seems to know a lot!

Ultimate Ice Sculptor
Yuraki Watyna, born in the hospital of Yamato Japan, she was a calm girl when she was born, she wasn’t crying either. She was sleeping during the entire procedure. When Yuraki went into kindergarten she wasn’t that social, she kept to herself for some odd reason but when Winter hit when she was only 6 she was building snowmen and breaking ice for fun but her parents knew it was a talent right away since her snowmen were so beautiful, her parents were irresponsible so at the age of 7 Yuraki was given the task of making an ice sculpture (forcefully), she made it and shed one tear on it. It was amazing and it was shown to the public and people thought she was a prodigy, her parents cared about the fame and attention they were getting with their daughter but they didn’t care about Yuraki at all, she was forced to make Ice Sculptures for her parent’s so they could get more popularity, Yuraki was not aware of what was happening at the time so she was just that normal girl, until she became 14 she saw her ice sculptures on the internet and freaked out, she moved out of her parent’s home and she’s currently living in an apartment.

Erina has soft caramel skin with tiny freckles underneath her eyes. She usually wears a white v-neck long sleeved tank top with blue jean shorts and black thigh high heel boots.Other
Product of the love between a Spanish librarian and a Japanese tourist, Erina spent her childhood days reading on her dad's library until it got too boring for her young mind. She wanted excitement, fun and being able to get a challenge out of reading and writing.
She jumped to mainstream media when, at the age of eleven, she managed to solve the cryptic letters sent by the Zodiac Killer back in the 60's after only reading each letter twice. First time to get the content of the letter, second time to confirm she was right. Soon she gained popularity for her skills and moved on to being hired by some of the most prominent intelligence agencies in the country. Her most notorious work was to unravel the secrets of the mysterious Voynich manuscript. Secrets that she can't divulge thanks to her employer's condition of not making any of the information public. When asked about it, the only clue she gave about the content of the old book was the word "peas".
Fame comes at a price though and for Erina this came in the form of her fellow classmates mocking her and labeling her as a 'Words Nerd' complete with isolation and the silent treatment. Due to this she spent most of her childhood on her own, something she couldn't care less about if it wasn't because her father taught her that you need other people in life if you want to get somewhere and be happy. Taking this in the literal sense she started dressing up 'cute', buying a cellphone and getting on all social media and apparently doing a 180 on her personality just to make the right connections to support herself. Dating the CEOs' sons of the agencies she worked for just to climb the ranks, befriending other hired cryptographers just to make sure none of them could match her on her own game, even babysitting for the director of the FBI only to get five bucks per hour and pink toe nails.
Ultimate Seamstress
Yua’s hair is quite rich and elegant in touch and look, she barely has any dead hair, almost as if the dead hair are scared of her. Her eyes are blood red, it looks like if she had just taken a life and poured the blood all around her face. Yua’s face is quite pale, but it has a little tan to it- Yua’s eyes have eye bags underneath them, due to countless nights of sleep due to her making dresses or whatnot.Her clothes are the most richest and most precious part of her, the clothes: so rich, so silky, so black and so morbid. Yua’s clothes have references to olden day attire, that she might as well be called a vampire. She also can be seen with a bow and a red sort of jewel between them, nodding to vampire origins- but she isn’t one of course, she just loves the idea of them. And for the last, her earrings. Only one is visible, because the other is lurking behind her hair.

Ultimate Roller Skater
Rinka has pale white skin, a few freckles smothering over her face, dark brown eyes and her lips are a pinky colour. She has long red hair that does get lighter at around the ends, styled in a high ponytail. To add a bit of style to her hair, she has bangs and a few strands out. She also wears the ponytail with a ribbon.Her style is mainly grunge most of the time. Her main outfit is a white shirt, tucked into some black shorts with her rollerskates on. She wears an oversized green jacket over it.Another thing she wears is a white and yellow striped shirt tucked into a pair of black jeans that she wears with sneakers. Her style is laid back most of the time.
Believe it or not, Rinka grew up in the UK for most of her life. Her father was British and her mother was Japanese. One night, her parents got into an awful argument, which resulted in her father accidentally throwing a shoe at Rinka. It gave a scar on her cheek, so to cover that she wears a blaster over it and states that she got it when she was roller skating one day.
Out of guilt, her parents felt worthless to even look after Rinka. So, they moved her to Japan so she would be under her loving grandparents care~! However, being in a new country that spoke a different language was very hard for Rinka! She sensed the other students speaking about her but was too shy to say anything at the time.
Soon enough, her grandparents did teach her Japanese, which she caught onto really fast. She was then able to stand up for herself!
When she first came to Japan, Rinka had no idea about the language or what they did. However, she caught on pretty quick due to getting taught Japanese by her grandparents. Often though, she got teased for being a foreigner. Soon enough, she was able to stand up for herself, which caused a huge turn of events!However, she still didn’t have much friends. She was able to befriend a boy who...she had a little crush on. He was also the boy that introduced her to writing such beautiful poems, which she really loves now! However, the boy...not so much now. When she confessed her feelings to him, he just laughed at her and showed her his phone. He recorded the confession and shared it to everyone in the school.
Overall, her school years were okay. She was alright in her subjects. But her reputation went down because of that boy.

- Rollerblade Good: Her talent revolves around roller skating, after all.
Ultimate Tango Dancer
A very tall young woman. Standing at 6’2. Valentina has dark brown hair with beautiful light brown eyes. She has darkish tan skin and usually wears hoop earrings. Though for the killing game she wears ear cuffs instead. Other than that she’s just a busty Afro-Latina.
As a child,Valentina grew up watching people do the tango and dancing overall. She had always wanted to dance like that as a child. She had always begged her mother to let her take tango classes and her mother kept refusing until she had turned 13. It was generally surprising. I mean, who’d let a 13 year old learn the tango? Tell that you her teacher. When she first attended lessons, she absolutely loved them. It was like a dream come true! She was so dedicated that she begged her teacher to give her special tutoring. Her teacher hesitantly complied and taught her private lessons. Because of those lessons she started to excel in tango dancing. Better than her peers and neck-to-neck with her teacher. It took about 1 year before she was able to surpass her teachers and 2 more years until she could get into contests. Eventually winning them all. Only at the age of 16. Now at the time her dance partner had been fine and she’d flirt with him occasionally. After a little incident she had tried to forget it the best she can and focus more on dancing. Getting better and better by the day and winning more and more competitions until she was widely known as the best of all tango dancers. Earning the nickname Valentina the Flirt for her amazing dancing and flirting skills.

Ultimate Snowboarder
Kiami has short black hair, with her left side being shaved. She has two stripes that are pink and purple, making it look sort of punk - as she likes to experiment with styles at times. She has very healthy skin, influenced by Korean Pop Stars, Kiami wanted to look like them. Therefore, she’s inching her way there with first her skin. Speaking of that - it’s pale from hanging out in the cold snowy mountains all the time.
She has a small button nose along with small eyes that are brown, her figure isn’t very curvy, though you could probably look at it that way. She’s skinny though, that’s a fact. She can get very defensive when someone questions her eating habits, as she has a very fast metabolism and they assume she has an eating disorder, showering her with love that she doesn’t want.
Kiami has always been famous, as she was born in the Rose family. They’ve been famous for their company, Ringo, which is the Japanese equivalent of Apple. They’ve made technological advancements, hiring only the most elite and trustworthy people. Though she was supposed to inherit the company, she went against her mother’s rules and one day snuck off outside of their winter home in the mountains to a snowboarding shack. There, she bought her first snowboard and used hours of the day to go down the mountains. It was tough, but she managed to go down a short length. She snuck back into her room, where she was supposed to be working on a presentation. Every day she would sneak out after getting some work done and snowboard, getting further and further up the mountain each time.
She was going down her usual path when she suddenly swerved into something. Something whizzed by her all of a sudden, making her fall. She then saw it was a person - on a snowboard! Kiami then followed them, going as fast as she could. She suddenly jumped in the air and did a trick which was impressive for an eight-year-old. It made it onto the news quickly and her mother was angry at her, but her father convinced her mother to give Kiami a chance, which her mother allowed. Kiami then spent all of her time snowboarding, doing art, and attending parties. When she was 12, she was finally allowed to join a real race with kids her age. Her mother warned her that she could get hurt, but Kiami didn’t care.
She felt pumped and excited. Then, the horn blew and they all took off. Kiami felt the bits of snow nip at her face, letting it just blow off. She felt free as she continued ahead of the others. After a while, she looked back and saw she’d lost them - they were nowhere in sight! Now, originally, the length of the way down was 104 meters (343 feet). She went down 208 meters instead, stopping at the bottom. She saw nobody for a while. She looked up at it. The driver, thinking she was hurt, quickly landed to pick her up and get her to safety. Kiami was perfectly fine. Maybe a few bruises here and there, but overall in good shape. That was just the beginning of Kiami’s journey to the top. When she was 14, she won 13 races. At 15, she joined a professional snowboarding team and continued to win. She was unstoppable, it was just that… She wanted to go back to her family as well but feels obliged to continue snowboarding because it’s what people want.

- Face Death with Dignity: She seemed to be accepting of death when people voted her as the killer. She wished everyone good luck by the end of it and hugged people.

Ultimate Actress
Not very much is known about Igarashi, as she tends to be secretive and doesn't express real feelings to others, simply fake ones - acting, which she's rather good at. If someone asks about her past, she'll often say that she grew up by the beach with a loving family.
Not really.
Yes, she did live by a beach or water in general for her whole life, but the loving family part isn't close to the truth. She grew up in an unstable home, if she could even call it 'home'. They lived in a somewhat large home, Igarashi had the biggest room in it where she had many things, it usually appears neat but under the bed and in the closet is a different story. Unstable how? Her parents were repeatedly in and out of prison - for tax fraud, driving illegally and nearly causing crashes, stealing, breaking and entering; many things. Though, one parent was usually at home. Igarashi Atataka often wonders why they couldn't be permanently in prison.
Her mother is Igarashi Ayano, her father is Igarashi Hiyaka. She had an older brother, however he moved away from Japan to someplace else, he cut off contact from the Igarashi's and some rumor that he changed his name - it was originally Igarashi Ren.
The girl often found herself on sets of shows or movies, sometimes using some of the psychology tricks she'd learned to do so. They were usually minor roles, extras, until a few agencies eventually found her and she began getting bigger roles. Acting is one of the things where she doesn't try to manipulate or use many tricks to do. It's also how she learned a number of things, mainly how to act in general. Act her feelings, her emotions, or really act as someone who she isn't.

- Big Bad: As expected!
ATLAS
ATLAS is a tall man standing at 6'0", but doesn't look much like a robot, unless you count the fact that half of his body is completely robotic. The other half of his body appears human, as if he is a cyborg. His human eye is a night-like black while his robot eye glows neon green. He has neat and kept black hair, just like his human eye. For attire, ATLAS wears a nice black suit, as if he is a butler, with dress shoes. It should be noted that these dress shoes are built into him, and he can roll around with ease.
- Big Bad: Alongside Monokuma, though ATLAS seems to do the most to the students.
- In-Series Nickname: Hayato calls him Steel on Wheels.
- Ship Tease: With Valentina.
- Surrounded by Idiots: He most likely said this one time ago. He really dislikes the kids here.

- Public Execution: Typical Danganronpa style, the murderer gets executed in front of everybody.
- Sadistic Choice: To kill a fellow Ultimate in order to get out. Simple enough, but cruel.
- The Ace: Since everyone is an Ultimate, they specialize in a certain job or skillset.
- Win Your Freedom: The typical rules of Danganronpa. You kill and you could escape if you are not caught.
- You Wake Up in a Room: Everyone woke up inside of this underwater base, specifically in the water purification center during the start of the game.
