The Twins
Haruka Kasugano
- Voiced by: Hiro Shimono (anime), Megumi Matsumoto (anime, childhood)
- Chick Magnet: Nao found a picture of him surrounded by girls to be very amusing. That's explains a lot.
- Likes Older Women: His love interests include Nao (who is a year older than him), Motoka and Yahiro (who are both at least around college age).
- My Greatest Failure: In Nao's route, he wanted to rekindle his relationship with her because he felt responsible for her loneliness by leaving town while she was shaming herself about her affair with him.
- My Sister Is Off-Limits: He doesn't approve of Ryouhei trying to ogle at Sora.
- Nice Guy: He's a very kind-hearted boy.
- Sex God: No matter what girl he ends up with, Haruka excels at pleasuring her.
- Super Drowning Skills: Neither Haruka nor Sora know how to swim, of which they nearly drowned in Sora's route. He also nearly drowned at the beach but was saved by Nao. He began taking swimming lessons with Nao in her route.
- Twincest: When he was little, he kissed Sora but since then, he repressed his feelings for her. He would reignite those feelings in Sora's story arc.
Sora Kasugano
- Voiced by: Hiroko Taguchi (credited as "Haruka Shiranami" in the visual novel)
- Clingy Jealous Girl: She's very attached to her brother and gets very jealous whenever a girl is close to Haruka, especially Nao.
- Deconstructed Character Archetype: Of the Little Sister Heroine; her unnatural incestuous feelings for her brother stem from her extreme physical and emotional dependence on him.
- Girlish Pigtails: She has twintails, to symbolize her immaturity.
- Heterosexual Life-Partners: She developed a friendship with Akira during her route in the visual novel. Unfortunately, this friendship resulted in them burning the notebook regarding Akira's birth and almost burning the DNA testing.
- Incest-ant Admirer: Due to a kiss shared when they were children on Haruka's part, Sora became enamored with her brother. At first, Haruka felt guilty as he didn't want that kind of relationship with his sister. So he did his best to ignore her yandere clingy tendencies towards him and repressed his feelings for her over the next four years. Unfortunately, they do end up getting together after Sora's fever and love confession leading to some trouble for the twins along the way.
- Interrupted Intimacy: In Nao's route, she saw Nao having sex with Haruka many summers ago, which is why she hated her. In the anime, she caught them having sex again. It happened to her when Nao and Kozue caught her and Haruka having sex in her route.
- Little Sister Heroine: Haruka's little twin sister, in which she is completely affectionate towards him.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: In Nao's route, she considered leaving town alongside Haruka just because she cannot stand the idea of Haruka abandoning her in favor of Nao. She eventually relent when Haruka persuaded her to accept his feelings for Nao (visual novel) or Nao saving her doll when the bus station caught on fire from the lightning storm (anime).
- Punny Name: At least for the romanians fans. "Sora" means "sister" in romanian.
- Super Drowning Skills: Neither Haruka nor Sora know how to swim, of which they nearly drowned in Sora's route. In the visual novel, upon reconciling, she is taking swimming lessons with Nao in her route.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Sandwich: In Nao's route of the anime, Haruka promised to make her curry after a bad dinner. However, when Sora catches Haruka and Nao having sex and kicks her out of the house, she dumped the curry they were making down the drain because she wanted Haruka's curry, not Nao's.
- Tragic Keepsake: Her black bunny doll, which was a gift from her mother in the anime. In the manga, it was a gift from Haruka.
- Twincest: Sora is in love with Haruka and wants him all to herself.
- We Used to Be Friends: She used to be friends with Nao, but resented her when she saw Nao having sex with Haruka years ago.
- Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: She completely panics whenever a bug is nearby.
The Girls
Akira Amatsume
- Voiced by: Mana Tsukishiro (visual novel), Kayo Sakata (anime), Megumi Matsumoto (anime, childhood)
- Ambiguously Bi:: Though a love interest of Haruka, she is extremely close toward Kazuha, especially kissing her once in Episode 4. They are half-sisters, so it doesn't go anywhere.
- Childhood Friend Romance: She and Haruka knew each other since they were kids.
- Genius Ditz: Akira's usually a klutz, but she's extremely perceptive when it counts.
- Genki Girl: A very energetic girl who greets everyone with a smile, to the point of collapsing from exhaustion for working too much.
- Head Pet: Her cat likes to rest on her head whenever she is working in the shrine.
- Ignorance Is Bliss: She rather destroy evidence of her birth than shatter what happiness she has, which includes her half-sister's relationship with her mother.
- Kindhearted Cat Lover: She owns a cat in her shrine, of which she lets it rest on her head.
- Miko: She works at the local shrine after the owner that took her in passed away. She evens wear much more traditional and extravagant dresses during the summer festival.
- Stepford Smiler: Though she is an energetic and happy-go-lucky girl, anytime any vague recollection of family is concerned, she completely shuts down. Source of her angst comes from being unloved and unwanted.
- Switched at Birth: The journal that she kept regarding her birth may concern that she and Kazuha were swapped at birth. This is averted as while both mothers and daughters were in the same room, they were not swapped at birth as Haruka and Kazuha received DNA testing to confirm that Akira is not related to Kazuha's mother.
- Tragic Keepsake: A pendant, which is her only memory of her mother before she died. Except it didn't belong to her mother, it belonged to Kazuha's mother but she let her keep it.
Kazuha Migiwa
- Voiced by: Ryōko Ono (credited as "Nazuna Gogyo" in the visual novel)
- Big Sister Instinct: She is very adamant about Akira's wellbeing. In her route of the visual novel, she almost broke up with Haruka because she felt it is necessary to look after Akira. It took Akira to tell her whether she should love either her or Haruka intimately, which she recoil with disgust of being in love with Akira.
- Broken Pedestal: She loved and admired her father, even taking up a viola for him. However, she grew to resent him upon learning of his infidelity that led to Akira's birth and his apparent neglect. Seeing her father patting Akira's head like he did with her when she was a child changed her mind and helped her reconcile.
- Elegant Classical Musician: A fair viola player who enjoys classical. At the end of her arc in the anime, when Haruka and Akira listened to her song, he begin reminiscing about him and Kazuha having sex after the summer festival.
- Kimono Fanservice: She wears a kimono during the summer festival. Naturally, the final H-scene involves Haruka having sex with her while wearing a kimono.
- Mistaken for Gay: When Haruka eavesdrop on her and Akira and thought they were getting intimate, she is flustered about hearing it from him. It's when she confessed that Akira is her half-sister.
- Ojou: She is refined and beautiful young lady, coming from a prestigious family.
Motoka Nogisaka
- Voiced by: Tae Okajima (credited as "Soyogi Tono" in the visual novel)
- Can't Hold Her Liquor: She gets drunk quite quickly, as compared to her friend Yahiro.
- Loveable Sex Maniac: The omakes reveal what she does to relieve her extreme sexual tension.
- Masturbation Means Sexual Frustration: She masturbates while thinking about Haruka.
- Meido: She serves under Kazuha's family, complete with a maid uniform.
- Shameless Fanservice Girl: She has no qualms about flashing her panties or wearing only lingerie.
Nao Yorihime
- Voiced by: Yuka Inokuchi (credited as "Ayaka Kimura" in the visual novel)
- Bespectacled Cutie: She's a cute girl with glasses that makes her an attractive love interest for Haruka.
- Childhood Friend: Haruka was close to her when they were younger. In her route, it becomes a Childhood Friend Romance.
- Cool Big Sis: She was like an older sister to Haruka and Sora.
- Girl Next Door: Haruka and Sora knew her the longest of the townsfolk, since she lives right next door.
- Sex for Solace: After running away from her house when her parents were arguing, she ended up running to the Kasugano residence for comfort and emotional support. Unfortunately, when she saw Haruka resting, the two lost their virginities on that summer day. Seeing his face after the sex and the twins departing soon after made her extremely guilty about molesting him to relieve herself.
- Stepford Smiler: Though she is everything Haruka remembers her four years ago, she withhold her sorrow and guilt of her parent's arguing that led to her running away in need of emotional support, in which she took advantage of Haruka and molested him. Ryouhei told Haruka that Nao was a completely different person to him compared to what Haruka remembers about her. In the visual novel, he showed Haruka a picture of the Culture Festival, showing her frowning in the picture and appearing gloomy, indifferent, and lonely.
- Vitriolic Best Buds: Ryouhei and Nao often play jokes with each other, but are otherwise good friends.
Others
Ryouhei Nakazato
- Voiced by: Takurou Nakakuni
- Bromantic Foil: In contrast to Haruka, who is a Chick Magnet that has a chance of getting a girlfriend, Ryouhei has almost no luck, especially since he always get shut down by Nao.
- Childhood Friend: He knew Nao when they were younger.
- Vitriolic Best Buds: Ryouhei and Nao often play jokes with each other, but are otherwise good friends.
Kozue Kuragano
- Voiced by: Yukari Minegishi
- Class Representative
- Promoted to Love Interest: She has a romanceable route in Haruka na Sora.
Yahiro Ifukube
- Voiced by: Ryouko Tanaka
- Adoptive Peer Parent: She's Akira's guardian despite appearing to be only a few years older than her.
- Promoted to Love Interest: She has a romanceable route in Haruka na Sora.
Mr. and Mrs. Migiwa

Mrs. Migiwa
- Voiced by: Katsuhisa Houki (Mr. Migiwa), Kazusa Murai (Mrs. Migiwa)
- The Faceless: Mrs. Migiwa doesn't have a portrait in the visual novel, while her husband does. This is, however, averted in the anime.
- Parents as People: Neither of Kazuwa's parents are perfect but are good people. Though a loving father to Kazuwa, he's an adulterer that led to Akira's birth. Nonetheless, he still made the effort to be a part of Akira's life, even paying Yahiro to support Akira as her business isn't enough to help them get by. Mrs. Migiwa wanted little to do with Akira and had her disowned though it is mostly because she was born of her husband's infidelity. In addition, not only did she allow Akira to keep her pendant as a "memento" to her deceased mother, but the two also reconciled by the end of Akira's route.
- Strong Family Resemblance: Mrs. Migiwa looks more like Akira than she does her own daughter. This ended up becoming a Red Herring when Haruka and Kazuha ended up investigating whether Akira really was her daughter and not Kazuha. They are not related.
- Unnamed Parent: Their proper names are never given.
