Team 4

Komana Mwiinga / K-Bongo

Played by: Zowa Ngwira
A genius inventor. Her costume comes with a bow and arrows, a swinging gadget similar to a brazier, and a motorized kickbike.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: She is the most technologically gifted member of the team, using her skills to provide the others with advanced technology and reverse-engineer the one used by the villains.
  • Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics: At one point, she makes a presentation on kids' lack of free time to argue that she shouldn't have to do art class- a point tangentially related at best. It doesn't work, as the principal is not impressed by her using her intelligence as an excuse to skip an assignment.
  • MacGyvering: In the first episode, when the tornado hits, she improvises a large bow and arrow setup to send Ba Saasa an umbrella that helps him get out.
  • The Perfectionist: She has consistently good grades, and freaks out in Episode 5, when she has to take an art class, which she isn't good at, because she worries that it will bring down her grade average.
  • Straw Vulcan: She feels uncomfortable with the humanities, especially her art teacher's exhortation to put passion into her artwork. Eventually she realizes that art can be anything she wants, and so paints a mural of Lusaka as the utopian, futuristic city she wants it to be.
  • Teen Genius: Despite only being in high school, she is able to design a solar-powered carbon capture device and repurpose Locust Pocus' tech.

Monde Wamunyima / M-Kozo

Played by: Namisa Mdlalose
A shy student who recently transferred to Kamiji Secondary. Her costume comes with an extendable staff and an electric unicycle.
  • Dance Battler: She sometimes works majorette moves into her fighting.
  • Martial Arts Staff: Her weapon is an extendable staff, drawing upon her skills with a baton as a majorette.
  • New Transfer Student: She recently transferred to the school and has no small amount of angst over whether she'll be able to fit in.
  • Shrinking Violet: She is fairly timid and easily gets nervous; she copes with some of it by meditating.

Zikomo "Zee" Phiri / Za-Mpezi

Played by: Nancy Sekhokoane
A cocky football player. Her costume comes with energy footballs and jet-boosted shoes.

Temwe Chiti / T-Mlilo

Played by: Kimani Arthur
An excitable delinquent. Her costume comes with a whip and a hoverboard.
  • A Tragedy of Impulsiveness: Her Heroic BSoD over "eating Chompsy" is based on the assumptions that 1) a random stall vendor caught Chompsy, 2) decided to butcher what was clearly someone else's pet, and 3) accomplished the butchering, cooking, and selling of Chompsy's meat in just a few hours, while busy with the work of actually manning the stall. If logic had been injected into any of these premises, it would have saved her a lot of stress.
  • Big Eater: She loves food and eats a lot, being prone to fits of anger if she's not fed.
  • Dance Battler: Her costume's weapon is a whip, similar to the ribbon she dances with, and some of her fighting moves are similar to dancing.
  • Delinquents: Downplayed, but she often skips class, messes with the principal and even does grafitti in one episode.
  • Height Angst: She is the shortest of the team members, and shorter than most other students at school, and gets mad when people tease her about her height.
  • Invisible Parents: Unlike the other girls, we don't see any caregiver figure for her or any other family members until Season 2, where we see that her parents are working out of town and she lives with an aunt.
  • The Paranoiac: She is less trustful than the other team members, getting worried when Mama K first invites them to the headquarters, and later suspecting Principal Nkwashi of being Chusi.
  • Tame Her Anger: In Episode 2, "Hanger Management", she turns out to have serious "hanger" issues when she is angered while hungry. Monde helps her find a mantra that calms her down. When that makes her so calm she is useless in a fight with a supervillain, she realizes she can channel her anger into something productive.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: She'll eat pretty much anything, but has a particular fondness for vitumbua.note
  • Utility Weapon: Her "weapon" is a long, pink strap that she handles much like she twirls with ribbons and can use as a whip.

Kumbukani "Mama K" Cha-ponda

Played by: Linda Sokhulu
A former intelligence agent who assembled Team 4 and leads their operations. She runs a fruit and vegetable stand as a cover, concealing the girls' time with her as them doing volunteer work.
  • Animal Motif: She carries a walking cane with a lion head-shaped handle, her old codename was Mkango, "the Lion", and the headquarters, now belonging to Team 4, was called "the Lion's Den".
  • Badass Normal: Her team did everything they did without high-tech suits.
  • Cool Old Lady: She is quite old and grey-haired, but a very friendly and confident mentor to the girls.
  • Hidden Depths: She's pretty impatient by the standards of other adults, something the kids don't notice. When Chi invites her over to open Towela's box of files, she completely brushes off her friend's attempts at conversation and zooms around looking for the box. Chi is not surprised by this.
  • My Greatest Failure: Her team's final attempt to defeat Chusi ended with Chi being blinded and Towela rendered amnesiac (losing her familial relationships in the process). In the present day, she keeps Chusi's existence secret from her apprentices because she's terrified the same thing will happen again.
  • Nerves of Steel: When the tornado hits in the first episode, Komana catches her just staring it down.
  • Retired Badass: She used to lead a secret, elite crimefighting team working for IAZ, the Intelligence Agency of Zambia. After the confrontation with Chusi, she retired from this and now just acts as the girls' leader and support.

Mama K's pet goat.

  • Dung Fu: He often fires poop like bullets at people he's angry with.
  • Extreme Omni-Goat: He has a habit of chewing anything he gets near, even paper and metal.
  • Hidden Depths: Episode 6 reveals that Mama K has given him spy training and that he can fight well enough to take down Alley-Gator by himself.
  • Team Pet: He is Mama K's pet and fills this role for the team overall.

T.O.M.I.

Played by: Thaba Ntebe
An Artificial Intelligence that assists the team.
  • Fun with Acronyms: For "Technical Operations Management Interface".
  • Virtual Sidekick: He fills this role for the team, helping Mama K coordinate them and monitor the field.

    Spoiler Villain

Lee Magedzee

Played by: John McMillan
A mysterious, masked villain who recruits the others and sends them on missions to target Lusaka's power sources.
  • Anti-Villain: His main motivation behind his revenge plan is his mother's amnesia and damaged memory, which led to his father leaving them and his childhood being ruined. Also, his plan to use Zambezite to create a source of clean, reliable energy is genuine, even if he uses criminal means to get it in place and put himself in charge of Lusaka's power production.
  • Big Bad: The mastermind behind all the supervillainy in the series.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: In public, Mr. Magedzee is a popular figure who protests against the mayor alongside citizens and personally encourages Komana's technological pursuits. As Chusi, he is wrecking the city.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: He still cares for his mother, whose memory loss during the battle with Chusi has led him to his current plans.
  • Evil Sounds Deep: His voice is digitally distorted, giving this effect.
  • Hidden Villain: He sticks to the shadows, with Team 4 never even becoming aware of his existence until Episode 7 of Season 1.
  • Malevolent Masked Men: He is evil and wears a mask with a digital screen that completely covers his face.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: When the Brainstorm device restores his mother's memory, he breaks down in tears, realizing he could have spent the years working on a way to treat her instead of planning his revenge. Also, when he finds out that Zambezite produces toxic waste, he is genuinely surprised and remorseful.
  • The Man Behind the Man: He is responsible for all the other villains fought by Team 4, giving them gear and picking their targets.
  • No Name Given: He is referred to as "Chusi" in Episode 8's official plot outline, and by Mama K and Team 4 in the previous episode, but he never assumes a proper villain alias.

Storm Drain

Played by: Ashley Zhangazha
A villain with technological equipment that allows him to manipulate the weather.

The Garbage Man / Mr. Sibanda

Played by: Tshamano Sebe
A passionate but well-meaning street cleaner recruited by the main villain.
  • Achilles' Heel: His abilities are based entirely on magnets, making him unable to control plastic and rubber-based objects.
  • Anti-Villain: He was motivated by the city's poor street sanitation, and unlike the other villains, he was being mind-controlled.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: While he was deeply frustrated with the mayor, his bout of supervillainy was the result of mind control.
  • Clothes Make the Superman: He has no powers or other superhuman traits; his ability to control trash comes from magnets in his gear.
  • Malevolent Masked Men: He wears a breathing mask and a hat to cover his face.

Alley-Gator

Played by: Yinka Awoni
A half-man, half-crocodile.
  • Atrocious Alias: He says his name comes from him stalking alleys and being part human and part reptile. The girls are quick to point out that alligators aren't native to Africa, and a crocodile-based name would make more sense.
  • Dumb Muscle: Downplayed; he isn't stupid, but his plans aren't as grand or focused as the others, and he is the only one without any scientific know-how or gadgets, instead relying on the extra strength his condition gives him.
  • For the Evulz: When confronted by the girls the first time, he admits he doesn't have any grander ambitions besides terrifying people.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: He is part reptile, with a crocodile head and tail, scaly skin and clawed hands.

A disgraced vlogger turned supercriminal.
  • Clothes Make the Superman: She has no powers or any particularly useful skills on her own; it all comes from her supersuit.
  • Did Not Think This Through: As the girls point out, if her goal is to become famous, she picked a terrible villain name because any search for the word "sunblock" just produces lots of results for suncreen products.
  • The Power of the Sun: Her costume connects to a giant set of solar panels, allowing her to use the solar power for energy beams and flight.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Her vlog has gone down in flames, but she keeps overestimating how famous she is.

Professor Greenthumbs

  • Malevolent Masked Men: Wears a mask to disguise his face and voice.
  • Meaningful Name: His name means "smoke", referring to his ability to disappear into thin air.
  • Photographic Memory: The key to his criminal business was his incredible memory, which allowed him to remember all the information he stole. After committing it to memory, he would destroy the original records, ensuring that nobody but him had access to it.
  • Purple Is Powerful: He is shown to be one of the most competent, dangerous villains in the series, and his outfit is predominantly purple.
  • That One Case: He is this to Mama K, having incapacitated the team and caused the IAZ to shut them down.

  • Former Teen Rebel: He says he was very rebellious when he was Temwe's age.
