You're gonna know their names! From left to right:

Supa Team 4 is an African superhero show produced by Netflix. It was created by Malenga Mulendema in connection with Triggerfish Animation Studios and CAKE Entertainment.

Disasters have been rocking the city of Lusaka, and only one woman knows how to stop them- the elderly spy "Mama K". With the help of her Virtual Sidekick, she recruits four heroic teenagers; brilliant Komana, authoritative Zee, shy Monde, and delinquent Temwe. Together, "Team 4" fight to protect their home as a number of supervillains target the city's infrastructure.

The first season premiered on July 20, 2023. The second season was released on December 21, 2023.

This series includes the following tropes:

  • Animal Theme Naming: Mama K's old team members had code names patterned like this. She was called Mkanga, "the Lion", and the headquarters, now Team 4's hangout, was called "the Lion's Den" since she was team leader. Her old friend Uncle Chi was called Chipembele, "the Rhino", and their computer expert Towela was called Imbwili, "the Leopard".
  • Babysitting Episode: In Episode 6, "Missing Kid", Mama K has to visit an old friend who is allergic to Chompsy and puts the girls in charge of watching him. Then he goes missing while she's away and the girls go looking for him.
  • Badass Normal: In the pilot episode, before Mama K gave them their suits, the 4 are shown to be this during the first villain attack when they save some of their classmates (and the odd teacher too). Shortly afterwards Mama K reveals that this type of behaviour is exactly why she chose those girls in the first place.
  • Chekhov's Gun: In the end of Season 2, Komana's carbon capture device, shown to Magedze in the first episode, is altered to filter toxic waste from Zambezite.
  • Cliffhanger: The season 1 finale, "Brain Power, Pt. 1", ends with the girls being dragged off by Professor Greenthumbs, with their costumes' powers disabled, and Mama K being too far away and held up to help right away.
  • Clothes Make the Superman: Team 4 have no powers outside of their suits, which greatly enhance the girls' strength and speed.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: As seen in the group picture, the girls' costumes are black with different main colors; Komana's is yellow, Monde's is pink, Zee's is green and Komana's is purple.
  • I Ate WHAT?!: In Episode 6, Temwe stops to eat food from a stall at the market while looking for the missing Chompsy, and is horrified to discover that she ate soup made with goat meat, thinking she has eaten Chompsy.
  • Make Way for the New Villains: In the end of Season 2, after Magedze and the villains he employed have been arrested, Chusi is seen watching recent events from the shadows and starts planning his return.
  • New Transfer Student: Monde, who has no small amount of angst over whether she'll be able to fit in.
  • Painted CGI: The show's animation uses a low framerate and some 2D effects in the action scenes, making it look like a comic book come to life.
  • Practically Different Generations:
    • Monde lives with her older sister, who is a fully grown adult who works for the mayor's office.
    • Zee is high school age and has a group of triplet younger siblings in toddler age.
  • Swapped Roles: The Season 2 episode "Zee vs. Tee" has Zee and Temwe trade lives for a while because they both think the other has it better. Zee feels lonely living Temwe's life and Temwe feels overwhelmed having to care for Zee's three toddler siblings and do her chores at the family farm.
  • Teen Genius: Komana is still in high school, yet regularly invents things like solar-generating paint and a carbon-capture machine- things that exist in Real Life, but are cutting-edge and had to be developed by groups of people. In the first episode, she receives a scholarship for the aforementioned machine.
