Triggerfish Animation Studios is a computer animation film studio based in Cape Town, South Africa, where their headquarters are located, and Ireland founded in 1996 by Jacquie Trowell and Emma Kaye.

Initially creating local commercials as a Stop Motion Animation company, they have since gone on to work on TV and film entertainment, doing animation for Takalani Sesame, the South African version of Sesame Street. They have also produced animated short films and later feature films and TV series which have brought them to more international attention. Their two first feature films, Adventures in Zambezia and Khumba, were released in 2012 and 2013. Afterwards, they made a number of TV specials for the English entertainment company Magic Light Pictures. During this time, the company also started the Triggerfish Story Lab, an initiative to develop African writers and directors that was supported by Disney. The initiative led to the development of Supa Team 4 and Kiya and the Kimoja Heroes.
