Camp Motega Counselors

     Peter Broome
  • Token Good Teammate: He is the only one of the counselors to realize what they're doing to Talvinder is wrong, despite his own grudge against her, even saving her from being attacked and trying to convince the group to spare her life. He is also the one who confessed to the parents of Talvinder and Owen about what they've done to them, and even sacrifices himself to save Keira from the killer.

     Andi Criss
One of the five Camp Motega counselors who returned to the scene of their murder of Talvinder Gill. She is tied down, and is stabbed in both major neck arteries, making her the second victim of the Camp Motega Killer
  • Blame the Paramour: Puts all the blame on Talvinder for hooking up with her boyfriend. Even when Peter takes accountability, she’s still so hyper fixated on Talvinder she ends up being the first one to hit her with a rock.
  • Decoy Protagonist: She's the first of the adult counselors we meet, giving the impression that we'll be following her throughout the story, only for her to be killed off by the end of the first episode.
  • Woman Scorned: She was enraged at Talvinder having sex with her boyfriend and killed her after the Deadly Prank.

     Noah Jenkins
  • Asshole Victim: Given that he took Talvinder's Jerkass behavior the hardest and took it too far by attempting to rape her and finished off her death by overkilling her body.
  • Break the Haughty: After two episodes of threatening and making fun of Glenn, gets beaten and raped by him.
  • Bullying a Dragon: Upon discovering clues that Glenn might not be who he pretends to be, thinks it's a smart idea to confront him about it, taunt and threaten the much taller, more muscular guy who did suspicious things in a situation where he knows a murderer is around. To say it backfires would be an understatement.

     Susan Lam
One of the five Camp Motega counselors who returned to the scene of their murder of Talvinder Gill. Her eyes are gouged out with a steel pipe, and her neck is snapped, making her the third victim of the Camp Motega Killer.
  • Dirty Coward: It was her idea to pull the prank that went wrong on Talvinder, and ran away when things got... messy. Years later, her only thought when it becomes obvious someone knows the truth is to get the hell away.
  • Eye Scream: Susan has both of her eyes gouged out in episode 2.
  • Hypocrite: She says that every other member of the group should be in jail for what they did to Talvinder, conveniently ignoring that it was her idea in the first place.
  • Neck Snap: After the Eye Scream mentioned above, this was how her suffering is ended by the killer.
  • Oblivious to Their Own Description: She clocks onto Talvinder being nowhere near as kind as she depicts herself, but Susan is just as bad as if not worse than she thinks Talvinder is.

     Dawn Duguin
  • Alpha Bitch: Shows little to no respect to anyone throughout the first half of the season, especially the other counselors. She does get better towards the end, but not by much.
  • The Leader: Of the counselors. It was her idea to return and move Talvinder's body before construction of the resort could begin.
  • Sole Survivor: Out of the original six counsellors, she's the only one still alive by the end of the season. Though if the killer's promise is any indication...
  • Unwitting Instigatorof Doom: She accidentally leaves a light on in the van, making it impossible for anyone to leave.

     Talvinder Gill

     Owen Turnbull
  • Driven to Suicide: He hanged himself in jail after being arrested for Talvinder's disappearance. Right before he did, he wrote a letter to his mother, pleading for her to bring justice down on the ones responsible for his and Talvinder's deaths.
  • Fall Guy: Inadvertently becomes this for the disappearance of Talvinder.
  • Token Good Teammate: He's the only counselor who wasn't involved in the death of Talvinder, and he didn't seem to have any secrets or skeletons in his closet.

We Live As One

     Antoine
One of the two founders of the We Live As One commune, along with his life partner, Renée. He has his intestines ripped out with an auger, and is dismembered, making him the fourth victim of the Camp Motega Killer.
  • Accomplice by Inaction: Implied to be the motive for his murder; he had found Talvinder's body long after the murder and could have just delivered it to the authorities, thus bringing a piece of evidence that Owen was framed but chose to not do so because he was afraid it would tamper with his and Renée's deal about the land.
  • Straight Gay: He shows no campy behavior and loved his lesbian wife (platonically).

     Renée
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: She starts off fairly calm, but after Antoine is killed it doesn't take much to set her off. She assaults Megan and tortures and murders Glenn/Benny, when she thinks they're responsible.
  • Revenge Before Reason: Once Antoine is killed, she becomes fixated on avenging him at all costs. This quickly proves problematic, as she becomes aggressive toward whoever seems like they might be guilty, without waiting for actual evidence, which results in her injuring Megan and killing Glenn/Benny. She eventually dies at the actual killer's hands, rendering her vengeance pointless.

     Judith Berry

     Wren (spoilers)
  • Foreshadowing: If you pay close attention to all the appearances of Wren, you will notice he never interacts directly with anyone except Judith and his presence barely gets acknowledged by the others. This, combined with his strange habit of communicating with Judith through letters, hint at the fact he isn't a real person- just a hallucination from Judith.
  • Satellite Love Interest: Wren's entire character and personality seems to be about being Judith's lover, to the point she's the only character he even interacts with. This is actually intentional, as he isn't a real character as much as Judith's Split Personality
  • Split Personality: He's Judith's dissociative identity that she ended up developing as a result of her son's murder. In her unstable mind, she becomes him, and is essentially giving out revenge in place of her son. It's to the point where Judith rejects being called by her name.

     Glenn Morgan/Benny Ironside
  • Asshole Victim: Given his curriculum as a rapist and murderer, it's hard to feel sympathy for him when Renée tortures and kills him to avenge Antoine's death, believing him to be responsible.
  • Berserk Button: He seems to be a nice guy, but if you're a young man and insult him, beware.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Unlike the other members of the commune, Glenn turns out to be a convict named Benny, who is charged for murder and rape, taking his fellow prisoner's name when he rejected him..
  • Break the Haughty: After breaking Noah, Glenn himself gets this, courtesy of Renée. By the time she finishes torturing him, he is a whimpering mess, begging for his life. She kills him, anyway, believing him to be Antoine's murderer.
  • Depraved Homosexual: He preys on young and vulnerable men. His methods vary from pressuring his prison cellmate into a relationship to straight up raping Noah.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Behaves this way towards Noah. He compliments him, gives him painkillers, and talks to him like he's a friend even when he has him tied up. But it's pretty obvious that he's just putting on a show.
  • If I Can't Have You…: Thanks to the flashback in episode 4, we discover that he killed a former prison lover because of this.
  • Manly Gay: As a result of Prisons Are Gymnasiums, and he also has a Shirtless Scene.
  • Token Evil Teammate: ]To the commune members. While some of them have skeletons in their closets, they still are overall either sympathetic or good people trying to find peace. Benny, meanwhile, is a rapist and murderer just trying to make himself forget.

     Mark Rankin
  • Amoral Attorney: He used to be one, which he feels guilty about and has tried to repress. His nastier side starts coming out again toward the end, as he tries to use his skills to interrogate everyone and figure out who the murderer is.
  • The Atoner: It's implied he's acting so supportive of everyone because he feels guilty about how horrible a person he was as a lawyer.
  • Boom, Headshot!: How he dies.

     Keira

     Gene
One of the members of the We Live As One Commune. He is sliced up with a chainsaw and has his blood used to decorate a snowman, making him the first victim of the Camp Motega Killer
  • Fan Disservice: He's very handsome and is wearing just a towel in the sauna where he gets disemboweled with a chainsaw.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Gets about three minutes of screen time before the Killer tears him apart with a chainsaw.

Civilians

     Megan McAllister

     Janice

The Killer

     Camp Motega killer (spoilers)
  • Boring, but Practical: This killer wears simple protection gear that anyone could put on easily and take off just as quickly. There's nothing flashy or super memorable about it, but it is practical for the snowy environment.
  • Mama Bear: The killer is Judith Berry, who is avenging her son's death by killing everyone who was involved with framing her son for the murder of Talvinder.
  • Misplaced Retribution: The killer's motive is that she is trying to avenge her son, who was framed for Talvinder's murder by the counselors and committed suicide. This motive makes sense for the counselors' deaths, and some of the commune members, such as Renée, Antoine and Mark, as well as Megan and Janice, just happened to "get in the way" or know too much. Gene's death, on the other hand, appears completely unprovoked and is unexplained.
  • No Name Given: This season is the only one so far where the killer isn't given any signature nickname. Justified as the killings take place in a secluded commune, away from the police and the press.
  • No-Nonsense Nemesis: Between all the different killers in the series, this individual is the most practical of them all. When given time, this killer will indulge in some more painful and prolonged moments of death, but after obtaining a gun, makes very good use of it to take out remaining survivors. They even are fond of the Double Tap.
  • The Ophelia: A very dark example of one. Judith is so unstable that not only is she the killer, she's been imagining that it was her son's ghost doing it.
  • Split-Personality Takeover: Judith is visibly surprised and caught off guard when Peter pulls her out of her hallucination of Wren holding Peter hostage. For several seconds, she's trying to fight the Wren personality trying to get her to kill Peter.
  • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: This killer turns out to be a grieving mother decking out revenge against everyone who was responsible for her son's death. However, even then, it comes from a place of massive instability, dissociating to the point of developing a Split Personality that commits the killings.
