Protagonists

Rex and Pals

    In General
Rex and his friends, they live in an island where their adventures take place, the group is composed of Rex himself, Godzilla 2014, Haruhi Suzumiya and Jeanne Alter with other folks joining in as well depending on the video.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: Many of them have been killed over and over again and you can expect them to be back in one piece in a following video without any issue.
  • With Friends Like These...: Some of them might turn on each other if provoked enough, Godzilla is often the one doing so.

    Rex

Rex

"Do I smell soiled baby diaper?"
A talking T-Rex who is the series' main protagonist, he has a tendency to scream and shrink when intimated.
  • All Love Is Unrequited: "T-Rex without Godzilla and... Blender?!" shows he has a crush on Artoria Pendragon and tried to get a kiss from her only to simply get a pat on his snout, when he realizes what happened he immediately screams and shrinks again.
  • Boisterous Weakling: Often boasts about his strength right before he gets his ass kicked with ease by just about anything.
  • Bullying a Dragon: More than once he's gotten into trouble due to picking fights he can't win or laughing at beings he shouldn't be laughing at. Most notably a Triceratops that he chased on a scooter until it roared and grew in self-defense, scaring him away.
  • Butt-Monkey: Needless to say almost nothing goes right for him, from getting intimidated or blasted by the Godzillas ever since his first appearance, to being "friendzoned" by Artoria Pendragon, it's rare for a video to end with Rex not humiliated or hurt in some way.
  • The Dog Bites Back: He finally gets one over Godzilla 2014 in "T-Rex and Godzilla 2014?" where out of sheer frustration with his constant humiliations he lets out a mighty roar for once that manages to scare Godzilla into screaming and shrinking away instead of him.
  • Do Not Taunt Cthulhu: Taunts Cell in "Godzilla 2019 and T-Rex and The Perfect Guests!" as soon as he opens the door and gets kicked into a wall for his troubles.
  • Dumb Dinos: Is a Tyrannosaurus rex with as much brains as he has strength (that is, absolutely none) even Kermit points this out.
  • Idiot Hero: For a given definition of "hero" but Rex is the main protagonist and the dumbest character of the main cast.
  • Paper Tiger: He has a manly Husky Russkie voice (portrayed by voice clips from the Heavy) and is a motherfucking T. rex yet he is quick to fold to any and all adversity he faces.
  • Screams Like a Little Girl: His screams of terror are... decidedly unmanly.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: His screaming and shrinking works as a form of bailing out of trouble. He's done this against Godzilla Earth and a Triceratops.
  • Sizeshifter: Though it initially appeared to be Rule of Funny, later videos clarify that Rex can shrink at will, it just so happens that it can occur when he's scared.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Both "T-Rex and Godzilla 2014?" and "T-Rex and "Godzilla 2019 and T-Rex and... Spinosaurus!!" are videos that end with him actually defeating a foe for once, the first time by scaring Godzilla once he gains enough willpower to let out a mighty roar and the second time when Jalter gives him the ability to breathe fire so as to fend off the Spinosaurus.
  • Too Dumb to Live: He isn't particularly bright and several of his own decisions and actions end with him killed or at least as "killed" as you can get in these videos. Notably in the Christmas special he thought that a working nuke was a perfect gift (and the only he got after being told to by Haruhi) which predictably blows up all the guests at the party.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Finally takes one in "T-Rex vs. the Backrooms" as he is forced to fight the creatures of the place to defend himself and Haruhi and manages to not only roar defiantly at his opposition and hold his own in a fight, he is even able to defeat one of the creatures and when cornered by a whole army he just makes a Badass Boast and intends to go out fighting to his last breath, luckily for him Haruhi warps both herself and Rex out before that can happen.
  • Unsympathetic Comedy Protagonist: Rex is a complete moron, picks fights he can't win all the time, annoys his own friends and endangers them with his antics yet all that just compliments the videos' sense of humor.

    Godzilla 2014

Godzilla 2014/2019

The MonsterVerse's incarnation of the King of the Monsters and a main character who almost always appears alongside Rex and is one of his friends.
  • Art Evolution: His first design is based on the design that Godzilla had in Godzilla (2014), later videos have his design updated to resemble Godzilla's own tweaked design from Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) onwards.
  • Laser-Guided Karma:
    • Rex manages to produce a roar mighty enough to scare him into screaming and shrinking in "T-Rex and Godzilla 2014?", after many videos of having Godzilla scare him with his own roar.
    • In "Godzilla 2014 and T-Rex and EARTH?" he flicks off the titular Godzilla Earth which was small-sized into a canyon, then said Godzilla grows to its true size soon enough and proceeds to eat him offscreen while Rex bails out on him by screaming and shrinking as usual.
  • Only Sane Man: Is often the least eccentric and troublesome of Rex's group of friends (including Rex himself), which is saying a lot. Later on, Jeanne Alter goes on to share this role with him in regards to the whole cast of characters.
  • The Stoic: Is often completely nonplussed by anything going on around him.
  • Those Two Guys: He tends to appear alongside Jalter, who often sits on his shoulder.

    Haruhi Suzumiya

Haruhi Suzumiya

Voiced by: JanFuzzball

A girl hailing from her titular light novel/anime, she acts as one of Rex's best friends and is often seen accompanying him in his misadventures.
  • Butt-Monkey: Of the two girls it's Haruhi who suffers the most misfortunes throughout the videos.
  • Super-Deformed: All her appearances so far depict her chibified as opposed to other characters who use their standard designs.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: A platonic example with Rex, he towers over her whenever the two appear together, enough that she almost always is riding on his head or back. Inverted with Toy Rex, as in his presence she uses her nonchibi model instead, making Haruhi taller.

    Jeanne Alter

Jeanne Alter

Voiced by: JanFuzzball

A servant hailing from the Fate Series, being an Evil Knockoff of Jeanne D'Arc. Here she is one of Rex's friends and usually accompanies Godzilla 2014.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: While her original counterpart has taken a less antagonistic role in recent years in her home franchise, here she's portrayed as one of the good guys from the start and a friend of Rex, if a bit rough on the edges.
  • Buxom Beauty Standard: Kermit notes that she has a "nice rack".
  • Deadpan Snarker: Often throws cracks and one-liners at the expense of her more eccentric friends.
"I'm inches away from torching this cabin"
  • Interspecies Friendship: Is friends with a Tyranosaurus rex, a borderline goddess and especially a version of Godzilla himself.
  • Ms. Fanservice: The Christmas special has her wearing a Sexy Santa Dress.
  • Not So Above It All: Despite her usually cool, level-headed and snarky behavior even she isn't above some antics herself.
    • One such being when she screamed to the heavens when she realized that Saber Alter stole her burger.
    • In "Giganotosaurus Enters Godzilla and T-Rex's Dominion!!" she breaks down in tears when the Giganotosaurus ruins her house of cards.
  • Not So Stoic: Like the rest of the guests, she panics and screams when the nuke Rex brought is about to go off.
  • Only Sane Man: Along with Godzilla 2014, who she often accompanies, she is one of the more serious characters of the series.
  • Playing with Fire: Can manipulate fire and pass its power to those she wants to.
  • Those Two Guys: She almost always appears alongside Godzilla 2014, resting on his shoulder most of the time.

Allies

    Zilla

Zilla

A lesser member of the Godzillas who is often the butt of jokes compared to the others. Despite this, he's a sort-of ally to Rex and his friends and ocasionally joins them in their adventures.
  • The Dog Bites Back: At the end of "T-Rex and Zilla and... El Pollo?" he gets payback on Rex laughing at him all the way back in "Godzilla 2014 and Zilla" by blasting him with his atomic breath right after having dealt with El Pollo.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: His second major appearance has him defeat the Indominus Rex and El Pollo before getting payback from Rex laughing at him.

    Shin Godzilla
The 2016 incarnation of Godzilla and an on-and-off member of Godzilla's group
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Unlike its canon counterpart, which is a violent albeit tragic beast that destroys everything in its path, Shin Godzilla here is simply yet another resident of the series' universe whose absolute worst action is roaring and intimidating Rex (which almost everyone else has done, anyway).
  • Dark Is Not Evil: While he might be a terrifying visceral Godzilla, he's far from a bad guy and is mostly helpful to Rex and his friends. Though his creepiness makes that friendliness hard to express as shown in his attempts to befriend Jeanne D'Arc which just creep her out especially when he pulls out an unconscious nonchibi Haruhi and a robotic doppelganger of Rex so they can "form" a quartet not unlike the main cast's.

Antagonists

El Pollo's Faction

    El Pollo

El Pollo

Voiced by: DevilArtemis

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_918.png
"Not so fast, dinosaurio!"
One of the series' main villains, El Pollo is a Latino rancher chicken who once owned Rex in his farm before the latter escaped, and ever since seeks to re-capture him.
  • The Dragon: Is Millenium's highest-ranked enforcer.
  • From a Single Cell: As long as even a single of his feathers remains he can always regenerate himself, this comes in handy given his repeated executions at Millenium's hands.
  • Gratuitous Spanish: His name is Spanish for "Chicken" and he peppers his speech with random Spanish words or sentences.
  • Harmless Villain: The presence of Godzilla and his own incompetence ensure that he doesn't gets too far in his evil schemes
  • It's Personal: Wants to capture Rex because his escape dishonored his family's name.
  • Oh, Crap!: Before Zilla blasts him and Dominic he gets this exact reaction.
El Pollo: "Santa Maria."

    Dominic

Dominic

An Indominus Rex and one of El Pollo's dinosaurs, who unlike Rex continues serving him. She often appears as El Pollo's sidekick in his spotlight videos.
  • Adaptational Dumbass: Relatively speaking that is, but in Jurassic World the Indominus Rex was noted for being a very intelligent dinosaur with human-like cognition and a knack for planned out attacks; Dominic is instead nothing more than a brute that at times proves as troublesome for her boss as her own enemies.
  • The Brute: El Pollo's brutish sidekick with little brains.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: Dominic is not particularly bright yet even she was confused by how El Pollo could hold a gun despite having no fingers after El Pollo berated her for being unable to use her gun due to her large fingers.
  • Paper Tiger: Like Rex she looks tough and has an intimidating voice and yet folds to any resistance quickly and has yet to win a battle or truly intimidate someone other than Rex himself, she does get one tail swipe at a smaller-sized Zilla however.

    The Boss (Spoiler Character

Godzilla 2000/Millenium

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_921.png
The 2000 incarnation of Godzilla and formerly a reoccurring character that showed up alongside his 2014 counterpart, he recently has shown up as El Pollo's boss resentful of being excluded from more recent videos working as the main antagonist of the series since his proper return.
  • Big Bad: Is being built up as this given that he's El Pollo's boss.
  • Big Bad Slippage: From a regular cast member on Rex's side to a villain due to his diminished appearances.
  • The Bus Came Back: Millenium stopped making appearances in SXR's videos after a while and only recently resurfaced as a villain shaped by resentment over his long absence and exclusion which was represented in-universe by him being left behind in an apartment by Rex and Godzilla 2014, before the two met Jalter and Haruhi.
  • The Don: Has this kind of role as El Pollo's boss, intimidating the chicken into working for him and handing out severe punishment for his failures
  • The Resenter: Resents that he hasn't appeared in any recent videos to join Rex in his adventures right after both Rex and Godzilla 2014 ditched him, this resentment turned him to villainy and caused him to hire El Pollo as his assistant.
  • You Have Failed Me: Executes El Pollo multiple times for his failures in "Indominus Rex and El Pollo and... Godzilla 2000...!".

    Saber Alter

Saber Alter

Hailing from the Fate Series like Jalter, she is an Evil Doppelgänger of Artoria Pendragon who in this series appears to be part of Rex's friends but in truth is in league with Godzilla Millenium.
  • Big Eater: Implicitly ate a whole pizza, with her eating a whole slice in one bite onscreen and to boot stole Jalter's whole burger for herself.
  • Evil All Along: A variation, while she already is an evil character in her home series, here she initially appears to be part of Rex's friends only to be revealed as being in league with El Pollo and Godzilla Millenium.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Jalter, ironically, as both are companions to a Godzilla and tend to rest on said companion's shoulder when hanging out with them, yet Jalter is part of Rex's friends while Saber Alter is a minion of Millenium, who is the current main antagonist.

One-Off Threats

    Godzilla Earth

Godzilla Earth

The largest version of Godzilla and a one-off character that appears in "Godzilla 2014 and T-Rex and EARTH?".
  • The Dog Bites Back: Godzilla 2014 kicks him off a cliff when he tries to befriend him and Rex, and in response he grows to his true size and gobbles the offender.
  • Evil Is Bigger: The largest of the Godzillas and possibly as mean as he was in his source material.

    King Kong

King Kong

The King of Skull Island and a minor antagonist appearing in "Godzilla 2019 and T-Rex and King Kong!" where he interrupts the gang's poker game.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Picks a fight with Rex over the latter's gloating and knocks Godzilla and Jalter aside entirely unprovoked.
  • Jerkass: Rudely knocks Godzilla 2019 and Jeanne Alter aside when Rex starts boasting, despite them having done nothing to him. He gets his comeuppance for it.
  • Karmic Death: Godzilla blasts and kills him with his atomic breath in his Fire form for his troubles.
  • Maniac Monkeys: Tries to attack Rex without much provocation and knocks both Godzilla an Jalter aside while sporting a violent angry expression.
  • Off with His Head!: Has his entire head vaporized by Godzilla's fire-boosted atomic breath.
  • Oh, Crap!: Gets this reaction when he realizes that he's straight up pissed off Godzilla.

    Spinosaurus

Spinosaurus

A theropod surpassing even the mighty T-Rex in size. He appears in "Godzilla 2019 and T-Rex and... Spinosaurus!!" where he crashes the gang's beach day.
  • The Bully: His sole reason for trying to intimidate Rex appears to be amusement.
  • Didn't Think This Through: He tries to intimidate Rex while he's accompanied by the rest of his friends, Jalter thwarts anything he might've accomplished with ease by powering up Rex with fire.
  • Shout-Out: A walking reference to Jurassic Park 3 since his design is the same as the Spinosaurus of that film and he targets Rex.
  • Unexplained Recovery: Gets fully incinerated by Rex's fire breath (provided to him by Jalter), yet shows up seconds later in the water none the worse for wear.

    The Velociraptors

Velociraptors

Voiced by: Rick May (Team Fortress 2 archive voice clips)

A quartet of stupid raptors that pester Godzilla 2019 and Jalter while they try to play chess on the gang's new home island.
  • Bullying a Dragon: They decide to attack Godzilla while he's trying to relax despite their attacks clearly doing nothing beyond annoying him, they get obliterated for it.
  • Too Dumb to Live: They pick a fight with Godzilla and predictably get obliterated by their much stronger foe.

    Backrooms Creatures
A group of monsters from the Backrooms who end up menacing Rex and Haruhi appearing in "T-Rex vs. the Backrooms", as carryovers of a plotline from the DevilArtemisVerse.
  • Zerg Rush: After Rex defeats the first creature a whole swarm of them try to fight and overwhelm him with numbers, Rex tries to take on all of them but is warped away by Haruhi before he can take on all the forces.

    Giganotosaurus
A strange and large carnivore dinosaur who shows up in "Giganotosaurus Enters Godzilla and T-Rex's Dominion!!" and annoys Rex's group.
  • Humiliation Conga: Rex falls on top of it, rides it like a horse and even after the Giga shakes him off he gets pelted with cars by Godzilla.
  • Jerkass: Throws a car at Jalter's house of cards to ruin it, purely because she dared to ignore its threat.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Godzilla throws a bunch of cars at it at the end of "Giganotosaurus Enters Godzilla and T-Rex's Dominion!!" as payback for it ruining Jalter's house of cards.
  • Villainous Valor: It does not cower when Godzilla confronts it and even seems eager to fight him before Rex interferes.

Guest Stars

    Cell

Perfect Cell

Voiced by: DevilArtemis

A powerful android warrior who tends to cross paths with Rex for various (usually dumb) reasons. He is the titular character of DevilArtemis's ''Perfect Cell vs." Series.
For tropes regarding his appearances in DevilArtemis' videos check the characters page of that series
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: He often points out that he's a fictional character in a video. In one time he even complains about product placement when he's summoned by Godzilla while holding a Monster energy drink.
  • It's Personal: He didn't take it well when Rex called him a poor-man's Team Four Star to the point that he got hospitalized and the millisecond Rex taunts him about it when Kermit brings him over to make amends he kicks him into a wall, and only then does he says they're even about the incident.
  • Seen It All: He's often unreactive and stoic in the face of the madness of the videos, notably in the Christmas Special his only reaction to a nuke about to go off in his face is to fake being scared after Kermit looks at him with an equal amount of unflinching stoic apathy.

    Kermit the Frog

Kermit the Frog

Voiced by: DevilArtemis

A foul-mouthed Muppet who is friends with Cell. He is guest character originating from the Perfect Cell vs.
For tropes regarding his appearances in DevilArtemis' videos check the characters page of that series
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Like Cell, only that he will comment on the videos' length and in occassion even lampshaded some of the aspects of the lack of actual endings to some videos.
  • Covert Pervert: While for the most part he doesn't comment on any female characters, he takes his time to note in one video that Jalter has a nice rack.
  • Noodle Incident: Was at one point held at gunpoint with a gun down his throat, with his captor apparently making some kind of reaffirmation about a statement while at it.
  • Seen It All: Due to the wacky and random nature of his home series, nothing about the shenanigans of the characters phases him. To make a point in the 2021 Christmas Special his only reaction to seeing that Rex got an active working nuke as the sole gift, and that is about to blow up on all the guests, is to nonchalantly look at Cell who is just as unimpressed.
