Apple Bloom
- Voiced by: Robotbutterfly / Lindsey Lloyd
Applejack's younger sister, and the youngest of her family.
- Badass Adorable: A fact that is firmly acknowledged In-Universe. List of achievements include: Travelling into another dimension (that technically doesn't exist), fighting in the Changeling War and being a genuine threat to trained Changeling Soldiers and summoning a Water Elemental with a box of matches.
- Big Damn Heroes: Having Spike teleport her to the throne room to save Applejack, and thus the entire group, from Chrysalis' plan.
- Brought Down to Badass: Sacrifices the drop of Truth in her eye to use as ink for the magic Printing Press so she can put an end to the Rumors once and for all, returning her to a Badass Normal.
- Came Back Strong: According to Toola Roola, she has her Light of Existence. Like AK Yearling and Puzzlemint, the two ultimately fuse back together, essentially recreating Toola Roola and gaining their combined abilities.
- Corporal Punishment: Apple Bloom was mentioned as getting spank until her bottom was as red as her mane in the aftermath of the Bridle Gossip episode after leaving doll sized Applejack all alone in the monster infested Everfree Forest (which is considered an eldritch location by Ponykind).
- The Corruption: The drop of Truth in her eye has this effect, as it came from Nightmare Mirror. Over time it affects her personality and nearly turns her into a Nightmare. She eventually overcomes it, then ultimately gives it up to fix the magic printing press and restore the world.
- Cursed with Awesome: The Truth Nightmare Mirror put in her eye has saved her and her friends multiple times...but also has a risk of turning her into a Nightmare if she's not careful.
- Empowered Badass Normal: Receives a drop of the Truth in her eye from Nightmare Mirror that gives her Living Lie Detector powers. Somewhat of a Deadly Upgrade, as it almost turns her into a Nightmare. She eventually sacrifices it to restore the world from the Rumors.
- "End of the World" Special While putting an end to the Rumors, she gets the ability to remake the timeline however she pleases due to having taken control of the Rumors themselves. While mostly she repairs the damage the Rumors did, she also takes the opportunity to Set Right What Once Went Wrong to a large number of events. The Elders admit part of this was necessity, but part of it was a reward for all the Crusaders did.
- Fainting: Her reaction to Sunny Town being turned nice by Discord's end game.
- Forgiveness: Becomes a strong believer in this, though even she has a bit of trouble forgiving Sunny Town. But given what they did to one of their own and what they tried to do with her, it's understandable.
- Friendship Trinket: The ear ring she gets from Zecora, which she keeps even in the new timeline.
- Fusion Dance: Fuses with Toola Roola's Shadow of Existence, giving her Toola's artistic ability.
- I Just Want to Have Friends: An interesting example, as in her "Gaia" fantasy, her Cutie Mark grows the more friends she has.
- In the End, You Are on Your Own: Ends up facing Nightmare Diamond Tiara alone at the top of the World Tower. Subverted, however, when Button Mash and Featherweight both show up to help her.
- It Was a Gift: Her ear ring she gets during Rumors from Zecora. She keeps it even after the universe is repaired.
- Living Lie Detector: Is given this power by Nightmare Mirror. Comes in handy while traversing the rumors corrupted world. She loses this power sacrificing the piece of Truth in her eye to save the universe.
- Million to One Chance: Lampshaded when she has Spike dragon mail her to save the others from Queen Chrysalis.Applejack: And this here is that kinda story where a slim chances means there's no way Ah'll fail if Ah give it Mah all.
- Never Tell Me the Odds!: Her response to being told her plan to have Spike dragon mail her to save Applejack won't 'certainly' kill her.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: The Truth in her eye begins to affect her and causing her to be more obsessed with the truth and anger easier from falsehoods as time goes on.
- Our Titans Are Different: Becomes a Titan (in the sense of a mortal with god level power but not a true deity) while rewriting reality. According to
Word of God, she's the strongest Titan who has ever or will ever exist during this. - Plucky Girl: Is very brave, idealistic, and optimistic.
- Puppy-Dog Eyes: Does this to Applejack all the time. And has apparently taught the others to do so as well.
- Reality Warper: Temporarily becomes this while repairing the damage caused by the Rumors curse, essentially being The Omnipotent.
- Reincarnation: Is revealed to have Toola Roola's Light of Existence. Ultimately the two merge back together. Toola Roola was in turn the post Wish Spell Copper Glow, which means she, Diamond Tiara, and Silver Spoon were sisters in a past life.
- Superpowered Evil Side: The bit of Truth in her eye runs the risk of turning her into a Nightmare. She ultimately avoids it.
- Take a Third Option: If she flees the World Tower, she will become a Nightmare and the world remains lost in the Rumors, if she fights Nightmare Diamond, she'll lose. She decides to do neither, realizing a fight takes two, and thus if she doesn't fight back, it's ''not'' a fight and instead focusing on staying alive and fixing the magic press to undo the rumors.
- Tastes Like Purple: Describes being teleported via dragon mail as everything being green. Apparently, green tastes salty.
- The Other Darrin: Robotbutterfly had to unfortunately leave the project and so had to be replaced by Lindsey Lloyd.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Gives one to Spike for being too hard in his own What the Hell, Hero? to Silver Spoon for being too harsh in her What the Hell, Hero? to Twilight. Notably, Apple Bloom is the only one of the three who manages to not go overboard.
- Wise Beyond Their Years: Even though she's still a grade school filly, Apple Bloom has a strong sense of courage, understanding the horrors of life, the importance of family, and most significantly, an understanding that anyone can become "bad".
- World's Strongest Man: When she briefly became The Omnipotent while undoing the rumors curse, she became a Titan, a mortal with godly power but not status. Word of God states during this time she was the strongest Titan that ever and will ever exist. To note, even Discord is powerless against her during that time.
- You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Gives this to Silver Spoon thanks to her saying sorry for ever thinking she's useless.
Sweetie Belle
- Voiced by: Mewsel
A unicorn and Rarity's younger sister.
- Balance Between Good and Evil: Defied. She shoots down Abandon's speech on the subject.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: By Queen Chrysalis, who chose her due to her being the Reincarnation of G3 Sweetie Belle who in turn was the reincarnation of Bright Glow, Cadence's mortal incarnation, making her feel a connection to her.
- Close-Call Haircut:
- Receives one from Rarity, her big sister, in the form of a sharp thrown circlet that nearly cuts her eye out.
- Does the same to Rarity while suffering from Stockholm Syndrome, with the same result.
- Creepy Child: Normally subverted, but while brainwashed by Chrysalis, she comes off as this, due to still having her normal cheerful personality but in full support of her atrocities.
- Then the spell is broken...and she still feels that way. She gets better.
- Damsel out of Distress: Button's bubble tries to cast her as this in a video game situation, but she fights back. Button doesn't mind.
- Dark Is Not Evil: She can do dark magic now, but is one of the few ponies who can actually control it. She continues learning it after Chrysalis's defeat and it comes in quite handy during the Rumors Arc.
- Face–Heel Turn: While she was brainwashed, of all Chrysalis' slaves, Sweetie seems to be acting the most like a villain without prodding and is actively being taught by Chrysalis Evil Mentor style. Worse yet is she remains like this after the spell is broken due to Stockholm Syndrome. It isn't until Rarity talks her out of it that she fully makes a Heel–Face Turn again.
- Fluffy Tamer: Manages to basically tame the Blank Wolf. She names him Blanky.
- Fusion Dance: Fuses with the Shadow of Existence of Star Song, gaining her songs and dance skills.
- Heel Realization: While she has one when broken out of Chrysalis's brainwashing, she has another other after the encounter with corrupted Zecora where she realizes just how bad many of the things Chrysalis did truly were and how horrible what Chrysalis did directly to her was.
- Heroic RRoD: Her Wave-Motion Gun spell packs enough of a punch to kill Umbra Breeze's Black Storm avatars in one hit, but also left her horn black and smoking, burned through all her mana reserves, and if not for video game logic likely would've taken her out of commission for a very long time.
- Magic Music: Gets this after being trained by Chrysalis during the Wedding Arc, though likely retained it afterwards. Makes sense, considering singing is actually her special talent and she earns her Cutie Mark for it at the end of the arc. It's also revealed that she's the Reincarnation of the G3 version of Bright Glow, who was Cadence's mortal form, so that likely had something to do with it.
- Morality Pet:
- For Rarity. No matter how distressed she might get, Sweetie brings her back from the brink (this also works in reverse with Sweetie being her Berserk Button as well for others).
- Seems inverted with Queen Chrysalis. While Chrysalis is implied to be developing some form of compassion for her, the Queen opted to corrupt Sweetie rather than become better for her.
- More than Mind Control: Seems to potentially be this, as she seems to be acting in ways Chrysalis didn't intend for her to, including actually considering Chrysalis a friend. It arguably makes it creepier.
- She developed Stockholm Syndrome underneath Chrysalis' brainwashing.
- My God, What Have I Done?:
- Her reaction to almost hurting Rarity while suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.
- She also has this reaction after her encounter with corrupted Zecora in the Rumors world makes her realize just how horrid Chrysalis's actions she helped in really were.
- Official Couple: With Button Mash in the end, the two explicitly being married come the Distant Finale.
- Parental Abandonment: Feels the sting of her parents always leaving her at Rarity's. Since the Day of Discord, she even begins to question her very origins. She's overjoyed when they return, but hesitant to return home. It also made her easy prey for Chrysalis's manipulations.
- Protected by a Child: Does this for Rarity, intervening when Onyx Tiara finds out that she kept secrets about his daughter from him. She states that she knew them as well, so he should blame her too.
- Psychic Link: With Diamond Tiara. This comes in handy during the finale arc. However once Nhilis is beaten, Celestia reverses it because it will cause trouble in the future if not corrected.
- Reincarnation: Of G3 Sweetie Belle, who in turn was formally G2 Bright Glow (Cadence's mortal incarnation).
- Set Right What Once Went Wrong: Subverted. She's given a chance to restore the proper history with Button Mash but defies it to secure her friendship with him and changes it to how Button remembers it.
- Shut Up, Hannibal!: Gives a good one to Abandon in response to his speech about fear and love, pointing out fear is also fear of wrongdoing and love isn't domineering.
- Stockholm Syndrome: Developed a non-romantic version of this for Chrysalis while under her brainwashing. Word of God has even linked to the trope itself when describing her situation. Interestingly, Chrysalis seems to have some degree of care for her as well. Even after Rarity talks her out of her helping Chrysalis, she's still shown to care for her and want to see her redeemed. She later realizes just HOW MUCH she and her friends had been violated by her mind control after being subjected to it again by Corrupted!Zecora.
- Took a Level in Badass: As with most characters, she becomes quite a bit more capable over time. She can now do dark magic and is one of the few able to control it. Including a Wave-Motion Gun capable of blowing a hole in an Eldritch Abomination if she completes it, though it also takes a lot out of her.
- Wave-Motion Gun: Learned one from Chrysalis, but takes awhile to charge up and in her present state is Awesome, yet Impractical, as it burns through her small mana reserves quickly and the recoil knocks her back. She later notes that she'd likely have been bedridden for weeks had it not been for the video game logic at work and has her horn left black and smoking when she uses the full version of the spell to mortally wound Umbra Breeze's Black Storm avatar.
- Verbal Judo: Defuses a confrontation between the CMC and Silver Platter by doing something that the other two Crusaders didn't consider: politely apologizing.
- Villain Song: While Brainwashed and Crazy by Chrysalis, she sings a lyricless version of Sweet Music to keep the Changelings powered up. She later has a duet with Chrysalis when they're singing to frighten Cadence and Trixie, and encourage a Brainwashed and Crazy Twilight Sparkle.
- You Can't Go Home Again: Word of God says she's feeling this emotionally after her parents returned. This is shown when she admits feeling far more comfortable at Rarity's than at home anymore.
Scootaloo
- Voiced by: Ninja Tales
A pegasus and Rainbow Dash's No. 1 fan.
- Angst: Gets subjected to this a lot, with flying, Parental Abandonment and the like all weighing on her. Gets better when she learns to fly during the Wedding Arc and earns her Cutie Mark. Subverted when it comes to living on her own, since she was perfectly able to survive on her own. Also subverted when a trap in the World Tower tries to guilt trip her about killing the rumors parasites, which she'd already accepted by that point.
- Big Damn Heroes: Does this to bail Twilight out of Chrysalis' Sadistic Choice by saving Sweetie Belle.
- Broken Bird: Subverted. Despite all the misery she's been through, Rainbow Dash and her friends have made her fairly well adjusted and healthy in defiance of this trope.
- Die or Fly: Her first flight happens when she and Sweetie are falling out of a window with Chrysalis and company chasing them. She also earned her Cutie Mark in the process.
- Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: Uses the cape Entropy gave her to erase one of Discord's detachments Goatcord. This also does permanent damage to Discord by erasing his insanity.
- Earn Your Happy Ending: She specifically gets this in the finale. By story's end, she can fly, has her Cutie Mark, has a close relationship with Rainbow Dash, and is reunited with her parents who have been searching for her for years. And she certainly earned it. Especially since her parents could only find her with the defeat of Chrysalis, which she played a large role in making possible.
- Friendship Trinket: Her pinecone pendent, which she gives as one of these to Cheerilee while purifying her.
- Fusion Dance: Fuses with the Shadow of Existence of Baby Honolu-loo, gaining her swimming skills, knowledge of ice cream, and 'tropical island survival bonuses' (at least that's what Button's scan says). She also starts speaking Hawaiian from time to time.
- Future Badass: In the Epilogue timeline, she's the leader of the resistance and a complete badass able to keep up with the corrupted, and immortal Rainbow Dash. And then we get to see a Badass Army of her that Manacle rescued from various loops in action during the Finale Arc.
- Genre Savvy: She's pretty savvy to how horror films work. Which comes in handy when Discord's endgame twists the world into one.
- Happily Adopted: More or less by Rainbow Dash in all but name. Eventually in name as well. While she is reunited with her parents in the finale, it's indicated that she remains close to Rainbow in the Distant Fianle.
- Hot-Blooded: Sometimes. She does seem to have more moments of lashing out compared with all the other Crusaders.
- Important Haircut: Gets one at the beginning of the Rumors Arc changing her mane style to her G3 counter part who she now remembers.
- Minor Living Alone: Turns out she's been this until Rainbow Dash found her and took her in.
- Parental Abandonment: Was abandoned in Cloudsdale by her parents because one of them was a Changeling and the hive would've killed her if they didn't. She doesn't hold it against them though. After Chrysalis's defeat and Cadence taking over the Changeling throne, it's shown they've began trying to find her. Them finding her is the final scene set in the present in the story proper.
- Reincarnation: Of G3 Scootaloo. This turns out to be a plot point when she uses the fact she and Cheerilee were sisters in that life to free Cheerilee from Discord's Rewriting Reality plan.
- The Power of Love: Uses the sisterly love she and Cheerilee had in G3 to purify Cheerilee from Discord's end game.
- Suddenly Bilingual: Can speak the pony equal of Hawaiian. This is played literally, as she wasn't capable of this until her Fusion Dance with Baby Honolu-loo granted it to her.
- Tomato in the Mirror: Alula reveals to her that she's part Changeling. She's horrified at first before deciding it can wait until the battle is over.
- Took a Level in Badass: During the Wedding Arc. Particularly when she learns to fly.
- Undying Loyalty: To Rainbow Dash, naturally.
