     Squad Three in General

Squad Three in My Superhero Academy

Van: ...I promise it's going to be an interesting story once this vile creature is cast away, castigated and crushed for her cruel chicanery.
Mikael: Yeah, so don't be to jealous. Demon magic can be volatile. Like this one time, where I tried to fix a sex-changing raygun.
Finn: I see! I will defeat you! No one outclasses my cannonball!
Mikael (Narration): A regular Squad of killers, they were. But not evil. Never evil.

The Class's battering ram. They're the first to charge into a situation, a trend that stretches back to before there were squads.

    Mikael Freisch/Memento
Player: Kagescorpionakki

A German-American hunter, raised by his elderly (and somewhat paranoid) grandfather. His mother died not long after he was born, and his father ran out before Mikael ever met him. Mikael suspects his powers come from his deadbeat dad, as no one else in his family has powers. He's generally calm and outwardly polite - but he also can be blunt and brutally honest. He doesn't easily trust people. Has the power to empower objects over time, slowly improving them and eventually causing them to gain minor powers. It turns out that Mikael is actually half-demon. He at first rejects the notion, but soon has an ephihany and accepts his demonic heritage. And even becomes a demon himself. He also gets genderbended on the same day, becoming a sexy succubus. Whether or not all of this will stick, only time will tell.

  • Bottomless Magazines: Thanks to his power, his quiver never runs out of crossbow bolts.
  • Character Development: Starts out as a rough-edged, male demon hunter who would stop at nothing to eradicate demons and other such monsters from the face of the Earth. Ends up a sexy succubus who has accepted her demonic heritage and lives by her desires.
  • Clothes Make the Superman: Zig-zagged. He has a power, which he uses to make his clothes and weapons, but if separated from the things he's created his power works too slowly to be of use.
  • Covered with Scars: His arms have numerous scars from the animals he's hunted. His face is conspicuously free of them.
  • Disappeared Dad: He never knew his father, but theorizes that his powers come from the man. Though as it turns out, Zamael wasn't exactly a man...
  • Expy: He's Rip Van Winkle with the powers of Dauntless. And he looks like Link.
  • Gender Bender: Mikael ends up a victim of this. Though she doesn't seem to mind much.
  • The Magic Touch: His power.
  • No "Arc" in "Archery": Invoked. His crossbows are empowered to ignore gravity in order to better hit their targets.
  • Phenotype Stereotype: Invoked - Mikael worries that, being a blonde-haired and blue-eyed German, he'll catch the eye of the school's resident (former) Nazi doctor.
  • Shout-Out: In addition to the traits under Expy, Mikael's costume bears a striking resemblance to the garb of the Good Hunter. His last name is derived from Der Freischutz, which he can be heard singing in his introductory post.
  • The Straight and Arrow Path: In Mikael's case, he uses crossbows with blunted or tranquilizer bolts, specifically because they aren't lethal.

     Vandes "Van" Tepes
Player: Nick The Swing

  • Bloody Murder: A very, very well trained user of blood - he can ignite his blood, control it into various blades, use it as poison...
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Despite reminding many people of Alucard with his power set, and being somewhat overeager for a worthy foe, he's a surprisingly moral sort, and desires to become a full fledged hero.
  • Double Knockout: What his fight with Ash ended in - that, and a severely wrecked training area.
  • Familiar: He has more than 60 deadly animals he can call upon, and quite a few more exotic creatures besides.
  • Healing Factor: Together with shapeshifting - he is very difficult to kill with this in mind.
  • Hell Hound: His "Black Hound" and his various evil looking wolves.
  • Iaijutsu Practitioner: Uses his blade, the Chikage, in this fashion, drawing it from his arm mounted shield.
  • I Am Not Left-Handed: He has six layers of Not Lefthanded - Level 5 thru 0 Restraints, with Level 0 requiring multiple people to verify the need for it to happen, and it can only happen at night.
  • Our Vampires Are Different: Explicitly refers to being a part of the "Wallachian Court", descended from Dracula himself. He is a vampire much in the vein of a Hellsing-style "True Vampire", having a menagerie of powers, and locking them behind restraints. He does however abjectly refuse human familiars, citing the act as inhumane.
  • Warrior Prince: One of several in fact! He is said to be the middle child of the family, and the moral one out of his siblings, implying they are far less principled in as far as their powers.
  • White Sheep: In comparison with his brothers.

     Finn Acker (Other-Sider)

Player: Lovely Magician Savvy

The Hot-Headed Part-Time Energy Being
Hot-headed and brash, Finn used to live a normal life with little sister, Celia, and father on the beach after his mom's passing. However one day, his father's experiment to bring a creature from another world went wrong and instead brought in an aggressive and carnivorous beast. The beast saw Finn and Celia chased after them. In order to save Celia, Finn sacrificed himself to the beast. However due to its' strange biology, Finn did not die. After having a long conversation with the beast, he was given immense energy, turning him into a energy being. He was spat back out and returned home where his father made him a belt to keep him stabilized. Realizing what his power could do for the world, he enrolled in Saint's Academy in October.
  • Badass Cape: Gets one when he is in energy form.
  • Berserk Button: Do not hurt or insult his little sister and squad mates.
  • Big Brother Instinct: He cares very much for his little sister, Celia, to the point where he almost sacrificed his life for her.
  • Blood-Splattered Warrior: He has a lot of blood on him after fighting his way through two ships during the last battle. He can't even tell if it is his blood, the enemies' or a mix of both.

  • Didn't Think This Through: In "So Thank You For Taking A Chance On Me" after realizing he just bet away his whole squad's afterlives to Thor as pat of a duel as to see who could build a better house for the chance to summon Thor if they win. He only realizes it a few seconds afterwards.
  • The Determinator
  • Energy Weapons: Literally can make energy weapons out of his body.
  • Heroic BSoD: Has been in a negative and hazy state since "Waking Up To Ash And Dust." He had yet to resolve it or discuss it with the others, even by the end "I'm Just A Symbol To Remind You That There Is More To See". However, he is finally starting to get out of it past "Holding Too Tightly, Afraid To Lose Control" after talking to Martin.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: In his backstory, he let himself get caught and eaten by a beast from another dimension to save Celia. Subverted in that he survives said sacrifice.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Since the events of "Waking Up To Ash and Dust", he has become much more harsh on himself such as calling himself "useless", "a dumbass" and "an asshole". It's gotten to the point in My Superhero University where he ends up in a cycle of feeling he can't do anything and starts to break down further. However, he is starting to recover out of it slowly.
  • Hot-Blooded: Is a fiery young man
  • Idiot Hero: Is rather dense when it come to more logical minded things but, is still strives to be a hero. This trait ends up frustrating him down the road.
  • Like Father, Unlike Son: He is hot-blooded, impulsive and can be dense at times, compared to his more stern and worrisome scientist father.
  • The McCoy: Is very emotional and will protect people, even if he doesn't know them.
  • Messy Hair
  • The Nicknamer: Tends to call his squad mates by shorter versions of their names.
  • No Indoor Voice: He is prone to yelling.
  • Red Is Heroic: Wears red in both forms and aspires to be a hero.
  • Parting-Words Regret: During the memorial, he chides himself for his cussing out to The Saint as the last thing he said to him. He regrets that he avoided Saint before his death and never talked things through.
  • Power Crutch: He wears a belt made by his father to keep him stabilized in both forms, allowing his energy form to be usable.
  • Power Floats: In energy form
  • The Power of Creation: He can create weapons from his body in his energy form
  • Power Limiter: His belt is also this in that it prevents his energy from spiraling out of control.
  • Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: The Manly Man to his future grandson, Joe's sensitive guy. Finn is much more aggressive, crass and hot-blooded compared to his grandson who is much more delicate, cautious and nervous.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: While not near Ash's level, he has a habit of using swears.
  • Spontaneous Weapon Creation: His main power.
  • Swallowed Whole: By a extra-dimensional beast. Thankfully, the beast spared him, gave him his powers and was spat back out.
  • Tragic Keepsake: Has his mother's duffel bag.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: He can switch between his human and energy forms at will.

     Chibuzo Kariuki
Player: Theyja

A tranquil, polite yet sometimes eerie lich, who hailed, in his human life, from the sandy lands of the Sahara desert. He was a formidable warlock, who was trained by a trickster god in disguise, that, in the end, betrayed him and killed him in cold blood.

He is one the newcomers who joined Class One in the first day.

  • Back from the Dead: He got revived by a cult.
  • Badass Longcoat: He's got a patchworked one.
  • Big Entrance: Chibuzo aappears as a strange zombie rat who started to instill some wariness and fear into the minds of some of the students and trigger Wren's predatorial instincts. He then transforms into a swarm of insects, while recapping Class One's former adventures. He finally shifts into his humanoid form and introduces himself.
  • Came Back Wrong: Because of the resurrection ritual being incomplete, he got revived as an undead and was weakened.
  • Casting a Shadow: He can control the shadows and the darkness.
  • Creepy Good: While he's unmistakably a good guy, his mannerisms creep out some of the students.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Despite of his undead nature, powers that people wouldn't normally call heroic and his eerie behavior, he's on the left side of the morality spectrum.
  • Dissonant Serenity: He can mantain his politeness and tranquility even in the most grotesque and obscene circumstances.
  • Empty Eyes: Taken to the Logical Extremes. All what is left of his eyes are the empty and dark eye sockets.
  • Glasgow Grin: He almost always has one.
  • Lovecraftian Superpowers: Being an user of Black Magic, he naturally has an instance of those. From sprouting big, skeletal limbs from his body, to taking the form of decaying, revenant beasts.
  • Our Liches Are Different: Rotting/skeletal body? Check. Magic user? Check. Brought Back from the Dead? Check. He has most of the general attributes of a lich, except he's Creepy Good and can transform into a Dracolich.
