Colossals & Titans

Colossals and Titans are the foundation of the Monster World, no really, they are. Well, sort of, they're spirits that inhabit the foundations of every island in-game, giving each island a face. Currently, the majority of them are slumbering but some can be woken up with the use of the Coloss-Eye. As for Titans, though similar to Colossals, they aren't as powerful and are the islands themselves instead of simply inhabiting them as spirits. Titans are also all awake.

    In General
  • Big Good: The “guiding magic” of the Colossals is what saved the monsters when the continent broke apart. Originally the earth, water, cold, plant, and air element monsters thought that the fire elemental monsters had perished, but it turns out they survived thanks to Fire Haven.
  • Genius Loci: They are the islands.
  • Gentle Giant: They are the biggest creatures seen, with great power, but they are very calm despite monsters living on them.
  • Monster Progenitor: The Colossals created the first monsters (not counting the celestials who were already their own thing), which overtime eventually adapted & evolved into the monsters seen in the original game and Dawn of Fire.
  • Our Titans Are Different: Gigantic beings with immense magic power that monsters live on. There isn’t a lot currently that explains the big difference between Colossals and Titans, but Cruv'laapht‘s description implies that the two can be close enough in appearance and function to mistake one for another.
    • It’s possibly possible for Titans to transcend and become Colossals, as Enchantler had aspirations to become one, but, for whatever reason, found it to be impossible.
    • There is a great deal of variety among the titans themselves, from the aquatic, long lived glubbers, to the yeti-like Swetis, and many more.
  • Physical God: The Colossals created the first monsters after being inspired by the Celestials, saved monsters living on the continent when a multi-universe cataclysm tore the place apart, and currently serve as the main islands where the natural & fire monsters live.
  • Time Abyss: Titans are exceptionally long lived.
  • Word of God: Some of the info on them is revealed during the weekly livestream run by the games developers.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/earth_island.png
Sound: Mechanical Drone
Mirror Island
Level Available: 4
Cost to Buy: 250,000 coins
At first glance, Earth Island seems almost inhospitable. The air is humid and a bit stifling, and care must be taken not to step in a puddle of molten magma. Upon closer inspection, however, one can plainly see that it's the perfect venue for belting out monster tunes that really put the rock in rocking!
  • Meaningful Name: "Sollum" is from "solum" which is an altered layer of soil above the parent material that includes the A and B horizons.
  • Ominous Fog: Mirror Earth Island is filled with a strange green haze.

Fire Haven
Fire Oasis
Amber Island
  • Creating Life Is Unforeseen: What happens with the monster-made island Fire Oasis, as it was shaped in the image/based off of Fire Haven, but was just created so that fire element monsters could have a place to live on the surface, nothing more. The Fire Colossal’s spirit splitting in two and the second half inhabiting & giving life to Fire Oasis just kind of . . . happened.
  • Earth Day Episode: Amber Island gets decorated for the Echoes of Eco event, the Monster World equivalent to Earth Day and Arbor Day.
  • Genius Loci: Holds the distinction of being three islands at the same time.
  • Physical God: The Fire Colossal is notably different from its brethren in that with its spirit split in halves for Fire Haven and Fire Oasis, it has two physical bodies.

Lettuce bask in the bounty of the harvest with this lush Skin for Plant Island, featuring the Harvherd Titan! With so many succulent fruits and veggies growing free, we simply carrot believe any Monster wouldn't turnip to enjoy a healthy snack. It's so radishing, it makes our hearts skip a beet! ...Okay, we get it, puns are sort of corny.
  • Pun: The description for the Vegetable Medly skin is full of vegetable puns.

    Sweti Settlement

The Swetis

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sweti.png
Titans that are tended to by monastic critters that live on their heads. The Sweti Settlement is a skin for Cold Island that can be bought in-game with either diamonds or real money.
Level Available: 12
Cost to Buy: 2,500 diamonds or $9.99 real-life money
The scalp of the towering Sweti is a daunting climb, but once you arrive, you'll find the comfortable setting of this Cold Island Skin! Swetis are unflappable Titans that are tended to by monastic critters and that don't bat a glowing eye when Monsters scale their flowing locks. Every Sweti settlement keeps the same unfortunate secret to preserve the beast's dignity: that "snow" is really dandruff.
  • Bigfoot, Sasquatch, and Yeti: Are based off of the Yeti.
  • Eyes Out of Sight: Their hair always covers their eyes, although the glow of their eyes shine through.
  • Glowing Eyes: Their eyes have a chilly blue glow.
  • Secret-Keeper: Every Sweti settlement keeps one fact about the Swetis secret from outsiders to preserve the dignity of their hosts: the “snow” is actually just dandruff.
  • Slippy-Slidey Ice World: Subverted. It appears to be covered in snow, but it’s just dandruff. Since Titans are quite large, it’s likely cold enough on top of their heads for visiting monsters to think it is though.

    Gigacheep Nest

Gigacheep Titans

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/air_island_gigacheep_nest_skin.png
Gigacheeps are bird-like titans that upon reaching maturity, leave their coops to make & fill their own nests atop their heads. Gigacheep Nest is a skin for Air island that can be bought in-game with either diamonds or real money.
Level Available: 12
Cost to Buy: 2,500 diamonds or $9.99 real-life money
What is a Gigacheep, you may ask? Look below the twiggy surface of this Air Island Skin and find out! The Gigacheep is an ancient airborne behemoth seen once in a Monster's lifetime - if it's lucky. Once a mature Gigacheep's fledglings fly the coop, it becomes an empty nester, and seeks to fill its Island-sized nests with new Monster friends.
  • Bird People: Adult Gigacheeps combine avian features with the vaguely humanoid appearance shared by other titans.
  • Genius Loci: Gigacheeps that reach maturity and leave their coops become “Empty Nesters”, that have island-sized nests atop their heads.
  • Gentle Giant: Adult Gigacheeps specifically look for monster friends to fill & live in their empty nests after leaving their coop.
  • Word of God: It was confirmed in the "Season of Love 2020 After-Party" livestream, that the small birds seen in the Gigacheep nests are baby Gigacheeps, and that Gigacheeps are indeed Titans.

    Glubber Lagoon/Party Island

The Gargantuan Glubber

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/water_island_glubber_lagoon_ski.png
A Glubber Titan that appears in My Singing Monsters as an adult, in the form of Glubber Lagoon, and in the prequel Dawn of Fire as Party Island, during an earlier stage of its life. The Glubber Lagoon is a skin for Water Island that can be bought in-game with either diamonds or real money.
Level Available: 12
Cost to Buy: 2,500 diamonds or $9.99 real-life money
Swim from the middle of the living ocean toward the shore, and you just might discover the fabled Glubber Lagoon! This Water Island Skin reveals the greatest sea creature known to Monsterkind: the gargantuan Glubber, a leviathan-like being that values nothing more than the revered treasures hidden within its bivalve shells. Legend says that, for the right Monster, these clams will open to reveal the most glorious treasure of all: the Gift of Glub.
  • Kraken and Leviathan: Glubbers can grow to be Leviathan-like creatures, big enough for monsters to live on them.
  • Language Barrier: Like the Titan with the Temple of Hahoo, monsters have no way to communicate with Glubbers.
  • Time Abyss: Was merely in its Glubpole stage during the Dawn of Fire, and is a full grown Glubber by the time it’s seen in My Singing Monsters, which takes place a long time after the world-shattering cataclysm that broke apart the continent.
  • Word of God: The developers confirmed in a livestream (episode #74 of My Singing Monsters Live), that it is Party Island from Dawn of Fire, and Glubber Lagoon in My Singing Monsters, just at different points in its life.

    Temple of Hahoo

???

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/earth_island_temple_of_hahoo_sk.png
A great stone scribe with the ability to engrave events from the monster world’s history into its own body. The Temple of Hahoo is a skin for Earth Island that can be bought in-game with either diamonds or real money.
Level Available: 12
Cost to Buy: 2,500 diamonds or $9.99 real-life money
Discover ancient artifacts harkening back to Monster antiquity in this Earth Island Skin! Hahoo is a great stone scribe who possesses the singular ability to engrave records of Monster history into the brickwork of its very body - though tragically, these engravings are in a language known only to Hahoo itself. Etched into the surface of this living library are retellings of every major event in the Monster World, stretching back to the Dawn of Fire and beyond.
  • Ancient Egypt: Its overall buildings aesthetic.
  • I Am Not Shazam: The Titan isn't actually named "Hahoo" according to Hyehehe's bio.
  • Language Barrier: Its extensive recordings of the history of the monster world all the way back to the Dawn of Fire, are unfortunately written in a language only known to Hahoo.
  • Rock Monster: The Titanis the temple.
  • Shifting Sand Land: Hahoo has quite the expanse of sand on the top of its head.

    Light Island

Phosphora

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/light_island.png
The titan on which the light elemental monsters live.
Level Available: 9
Cost to Buy: 1,000,000 coins
There's a special feeling one gets when beholding Light Island for the first time-some have described it as 'deLightful" or 'enLightening'-but we think that 'Light-headed' works best! Framed by the wondrous phenomenon of the Aurora Monstralis, the Magical Island's Titan, Phosphora does not reside in one place-instead it migrates around the Monster World! It is also suspected to hail from another dimension, one where the Magical Element of Light shares characteristics with other luminous residents. At rest, the Light Elementals are among the shyest and drabbest in the Monster World, but once they start singing, they and the visiting Natural and Fire Monsters harmonize to create an eye-popping, 'Light-hearted' chorale!
  • Dimensional Traveler: Is suspected in-universe to be from an alternate magical dimension where the other residents share characteristics with the magical light element.
  • Light 'em Up: Is the home of light element monsters.
  • Meaningful Name: Phosphors are a type of luminescent material, most commonly seen in glowsticks.

    Psychic Island (Fire Frontier)

Cruv'laapht

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/psychic_island.png
A Titan acting as the homeland of the Psychic element monsters, Psychic Island. Originally named the Fire Frontier when the other monsters explored it, and at first thought to be a Colossal, Cruv'laapht is heavily implied to have moved into the spot left behind by space island. Added during the game’s 7th anniversary.
Level Available: 9
Cost to Buy: 1,250,000 coins
While the Monsters were waiting for reinforcements to explore more of Fire Frontier, a previously unknown group of beings suddenly appeared on the island's surface. Introducing themselves as Psychic Elementals, they explained that the island itself was actually an enormous entity known as Cruv'laapht. Records indicated that the Titan had moved in to fill the void left by a cosmic island from ancient times that had one day simply blipped out of time and space. Content to harmonize with their new Psychic pals, word was relayed back to the other Monsters to divert their efforts to the continued exploration of the Monster World. Team Psychic for the win!Fire Frontier Bio.
  • Back to School: Psychic Island gets decorated for MindBoggle, roughly the Monster World equivalent to the beginning of the Western school year.
  • Extra Eyes: It has several eyes.
  • Lovecraft Lite: Its name & overall design bring to mind the Lovecraft mythos.
  • Psychic Powers: It is the homeland of the Psychic element monsters.
  • Punny Name: Cruv'laapht sounds a lot like “Lovecraft” but with the “L” and “Cr” switched around.

    Faerie Island

Faesodd

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/faerie_island.png
A Titan standing in twinkling twilight and swirling mists, home to the Faerie element monsters. Added to the first game alongside the Dawn Of Fire 2.0 update.
Level Available: 9
Cost to Buy: 1,500,000 coins
If there's a place where wishes come true, Faerie Island is that place. In the twinkling twilight and swirling mists stands the Faesodd Titan, outlandish and unlovely, dissembled by a mask of exquisite flowers and gleaming stigmata. Here, shrouded by the unusually billowy clouds, Faesodd and the native Faerie Elementals have dwelled, unperturbed by the outside world... until a group of Monsters is invited to join in the Island's jubilant song!
  • St. Patrick's Day Episode: Faerie Island gets decorated for Cloverspell, the Monster World equivalent to Saint Patrick's Day.
  • Cool Mask - Wears a feathery blue mask large enough for its face.
  • Land of Faerie: A place decked with gigantic mushrooms, magical rocks, and the Faerie element monsters.
  • Our Fairies Are Different: It is the home of the Faerie element monsters.

    Bone Island

Necrull

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bone_island.png
The Titan whom the Bone elementals call home. Possibly what became of Cave Island when the continent broke apart.
Level Available: 9
Cost to Buy: 1,750,000 coins
Head deep - deeper beneath the surface of the Monster World than you ever thought possible - and then head even deeper. That's where you'll find the chthonic Bone Island, sitting atop the Necrull Titan's head. Lustrous geodes and bright, subterranean vegetation are juxtaposed with decrepit fossils and ornate skulls, suggesting that at one point this was the site of an ancient underground pool that supported life. Now, the visiting delegation of Fire and Natural Monsters are coaxing the native Bone Elementals out of hiding to breathe new life into this ghoulish locale and turn it into a favorite 'haunt!'
  • Dem Bones: is the home of the Bone elemental monsters.

    Magical Sanctum

Enchantler

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/magical_sanctum.png
A titan who had aspired to transcend and become a colossal, but found the goal impossible to achieve, and founded a home for purely magical monsters atop its head in a pocket dimension after fleeing there.
Level Available: 9
Cost to Buy: Free
Few are brave enough to explore the dark nooks and crannies of the pocket dimension... but if you are, there you'll find the majestic Magical Sanctum. Standing in the center of a grove of alien trees stretching into the sky is a mysterious Titan whose name was originally lost to history, but which was later revealed to be Enchantler. It aspired to transcend and become a Colossal, but when it proved impossible, it fled and found a way to the pocket dimension. There, atop its pate and formidable antlers coursing with Monstromantic energies, Enchantler founded a sacred place for Magical Monsters to truly feel at home and perform a solemn hymnody to a place all their own in the Monster World.Old Bio.
  • Glowing Eyes: Its eyes glow a magical, somewhat eerie shade of blue
  • New Year Has Come: Magical Sanctum gets decorated for the Crescendo Moon, the Monster World equivalent to Lunar New Year.
  • Pocket Dimension: Fled to the same one inhabited by the ethereals of Ethereal island after failing to become a colossal, and founded the Magical Sanctum.
  • Power Glows: Monstromantic energies course through Enchantlers antlers, in the same eerie yet enchanting shade of blue as its eyes.

    Celestial Island

???

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/celestial_island.png
The new home of the Celestials as of My Singing Monsters after Starhenge crashed - right into its head.
Level Available: 15
Cost to Buy: Free
Just when you thought you knew everything there was to know about the Monster World, something unexpected drops out of the sky... literally. Hurtling through the atmosphere and crash-landing atop the head of a heretofore unknown Colossal, features of this archaic setting seem to echo those of Starhenge, a mystical structure from ancient times. It was traditionally the lofty perch of the Celestials, luminous beings that shared a connection with the Monster World and the cosmic energies beyond; but...those were just stories...right?
  • Gentle Giant: Possibly more so than the other Colossals, as (presumably,) non of the others gained their inhabitants via a crash-landing into their noggin, yet it’s just as calm.
  • Heavy Sleeper: Another possibility, based on its earplugs, is that the Unknown Colossal is so deep in sleep that it didn’t even notice the Magitek platform crashing into it, or the celestials awakening & discovering each other (in Plixie’s case, with explosives).

    Ethereal Island and Ethereal Workshop

Zarroë

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/prismatic_maw_6.png
