     Alice Devonfort

Alice changed the player character into a werewolf. She is a young, black, demisexual, and bisexual woman, though her bisexuality is only revealed during certain choices. It is implied she is also British. Still in secondary school, Alice is desperate, with little loyalty to either the Masquerade or Rogue factions, and she turns to the player character for help. Alice’s past is very mysterious and a tertiary plot thread of the game.

  • Badass and Child Duo: The player can choose to embody this trope with Alice.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Her half-brother's best friend murdered her parents. She was put in foster care with Lady Cassandra, who treats her coldly. She was then forcibly turned into a werewolf. The player can further participate in Breaking The Cutie by rejecting Alice's pleas for safe harbor.
  • Family of Choice: Alice tries to create a found family with the player and Rosario, but it can devolve into a The Thing That Would Not Leave scenario.
  • Mysterious Waif: She shows up, she doesn't want to talk about her past, and she upends the player's life. See also Mystical Waif, as she is eventually convinced to provide exposition.
  • Meet Cute: More like meet ugly. The player first meets Alice when she infects them with lycanthropy. This is the Inciting Incident of the game.
  • Mind over Manners: It's up to player interpretation if Alice fulfills this trope.
  • Seers: Alice can predict the future, to some extent. She insists it's a Gut Feeling.
  • Spider-Sense: Alice can predict when she's going to be in danger, or her situation is going to become dangerous.
  • The Empath: Alice is supernaturally attuned to the emotions of others.
  • Wise Beyond Their Years: Though she is still prone to impulsive decisions, in general Alice is much more mature than the average high schooler.

     Lady Cassandra Mallory

Lady Cassandra is an elder vampire assigned to looking after the wayward supernatural youth of the city. Meeting her is the player's first potentially lethal encounter.

  • Aristocrats Are Evil: Cassandra epitomizes the aristocracy of old, and serves as the first outright antagonistic character.
  • Big Ego, Hidden Depths: Cassandra acts like a Fully-Embraced Fiend who thinks Warm Blood Bags Are Everywhere. If the player takes pains to get to know her, they will learn that she's actually a Jerk with a Heart of Gold. During the French Revolution, Cassandra smuggled innocent noble women and children out of the country.
  • Lesbian Vampire: An aromantic lesbian vampire, to be specific.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Cassandra looks like a middle-aged society matron.
  • Rich Bitch: She has oodles of money and doesn't care what the player thinks of her.
  • You Rebel Scum!: Though not to their faces, Cassandra makes disparaging remarks about the Rogues.
Cassandra: Let’s hope for your friend’s sake you haven’t been telling them the Rogues’ nonsense about breaking Masquerade. That group is full of dead fools walking.

     Chika Itou

Chika is a fellow werewolf. She is a romanceable cis lesbian character, and it is implied she is Japanese. As the top student in the player character’s medical internship, Chika has a lot on her plate. Other characters describe her as cold and beautiful, if a not a bit eerie. Yet there’s some hints at deep emotion under her icy mask.

     Ishara

Ishara is a werewolf with the seeming powers of a god. She is a romanceable butch trans lesbian character, and the game states she is black and Jewish. Other characters describe Ishara as the most beautiful person they’ve ever seen as well as the most powerful. Over different runs of the game, Ishara uses her powers differently, but in all scenarios it is noted that she puts the “super” in supernatural. It is almost impossible to comprehend her true might, and an attempt can have disastrous results. In contrast, Ishara’s personality is very human: she is kind, motherly, and emotive. Struck by wanderlust, she loves traveling, hearing stories, and laughing at jokes. Her werewolf form is even bipedal.

  • Beware the Nice Ones: Ishara is helpful and kind, but don't get on her bad side.
  • Butch Lesbian: She's described by as a "butch beauty."
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Ishara can't resist helping. Despite not meeting Alice yet, Ishara tries to find Alice's father because rumor has it Alice needs him. Similarly, Ishara volunteers to help rescue Sati's wives.
  • Combat Medic: Though her combat abilities are most talked about, Ishara is a healer and formerly was simply The Medic.
  • Handicapped Badass: Ishara is missing an arm.
  • Healer God: Other characters regard Ishara as this. She's not.
  • Healing Hands: Ishara's hand glows blue when she's healing.
  • Hidden Depths: Ishara is actually from a different world and lost her arm fighting a chimera.
  • Knight Errant: While Walking the Earth, Ishara will perform acts of service just because it's the right thing to do. She has shades of The Drifter.
  • Team Mom: Rosario refers to Ishara as "total Mom friend material." She also comes with a Mama Bear mode.

    Rosario de la Cruz

Rosario is the player character’s best friend. They are a romanceable nonbinary pansexual person, and the game implies they are Mexican-American. Flamboyant and cheerful, Rosario has known the player character since undergrad, and the pair share a deep bond of friendship. Rosario is a writer, heartbreaker, and partier, happy to experience everything life has to offer. It is implied they have a rich dating history of men, women, and those who are neither.

  • Best Friend: Rosario and the player character met and became best friends in college, where they were also roommates. See also Childhood Friends.
  • Chick Magnet: Other characters (no matter their gender) find Rosario charming and attractive, to the point it gets a little awkward and annoying. The player's own mentor, Dr. Cadwallader, asks the player to act as messenger between him and Rosario. During the Masquerade's party, Rosario receives multiple dating offers and is disgruntled about it.
  • Cooldown Hug: Rosario gives the player character one of these after the player makes it back to their apartment
  • Cuddle Bug: Rosario is very tactile with the player, and there's an air of easy intimacy in their relationship.
  • From Roommates to Romance: Rosario and the player live together. Depending on player choice, this can turn into a Romance Arc.
  • Hidden Depths: Rosario seems like the typical Life of the Party, but they're actually quite philosophical, socially savvy, and have a steady, well-paid position as a professional writer.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: For the player. Before and after they turn into a werewolf. It is implied that the player character went through a mental health crisis after they graduated medical school, and Rosario invited them to move in so they could watch over them.
  • Monster Roommate: The player is the monster in this scenario. In a game full of werewolves and vampires, Rosario is the Token Human.
  • Non-Human Non-Binary: Subverted with Rosario's humanity.
  • Supporting the Monster Loved One: Implied that Rosario tried locking the player character in a silver cage before the game started. They got out.
  • Tender Tears: Rosario is in touch with their emotions and will cry.
  • The Social Expert: Rosario is quite good at sizing up situations and reading the room.
  • Nice Guy: Or nonbinary person, as it were.
