The Darewolf
One of wrestling's most renowned thrill-seekers and high-fliers, PJ Black made his debut in the Temple early in Season 2, though he was defeated by The Mack. He would later reappear to face Jack Evans, though ill-timed interference from Drago would cost him the match. Black later formed an alliance with Evans to take on the team of Drago and Aerostar. Eliminated Drago during Aztec Warfare II, but was eliminated near the end of the match. Teamed with Evans and Fenix for the Trios tournament and made it to the finals, but did not win the Trios titles. Would later team with Evans and Johnny Mundo (the latter having attacked Fenix backstage to take his place) in a successful effort to win the Trios titles. A rematch was successful as well, albeit by disqualification. Teamed with Evans in a losing effort against Drago and Aerostar in a Nunchuck match. Lost the Trios titles at Ultima Lucha Dos. Was present when Mundo demanded a title shot, and participated in the post-Dos attack on Angelico. Black teamed with Evans and Taya to challenge for the Trios titles, and was frustrated at Evans' antics. He participated in the post-match attack on the Trios champs, and was run off by Sexy Star. Was on the winning side of an Atomicos match along with the rest of Worldwide Underground. Interfered in Evans' match with Sexy Star and was run off by the Trios champs. However his interference in Mundo's match against Sexy paid off, despite him being run off again by The Mack, with Mundo lifting the belt from Sexy. Competed in Aztec Warfare III; though he was eliminated by The Mack, he returned to assist Mundo in attacking Sexy Star before being attacked in turn by Angelico. Joined the rest of the Worldwide Underground in celebrating Mundo's championship win. Black faced Sexy Star in an attempt to block her from receiving another title shot, but was unsuccessful following botched interference from Evans. Competed in the Battle of the Bulls; was seemingly persuaded to lay down for Evans, only to double-cross him and roll him up for the pin. Did not win round two of the Battle of the Bulls, as he was pinned by The Mack. Teamed with Evans in a successful outing against Havoc and Angelico. Alongside Evans, interfered in Mundo's match against Mack, helping their leader win the right to decide the stipulation for the later title match. Appeared with Mundo, but was run off by Mack. During the All Night Long match between Mundo and Mack he hid under the ring while dressed similarly to Mundo, and when Mundo crawled under there to escape Mack, PJ crawled out and took off out the back, tricking Mack into chasing him, leading him back into an ambush by Mundo. He and Mundo beat Mack down with kendo sticks, but Son of Havoc came out to even the score and Sexy Star would later crossbody him and Mundo from the bandstand, teaming with Havoc to drive him off and leave Mundo to Mack. Interfered again in Mundo's rematch with Mack, only to eat a Stunner and fall through a table that he himself had set up. In his first round match for the Cueto Cup he faced Sexy Star again, winning by DQ when his attempt to use brass knuckles against her was foiled, but Sexy was caught by the ref trying to use the knuckles against him instead. Black later took part in the Worldwide Underground ambush of Mysterio. Along with the rest of the Worldwide Underground, he was introduced to Mundo's agent/lawyer, Benjamin Cooke. Lost a hard-fought second round Cueto Cup match to Prince Puma, then was called in to Dario Cueto's office. Cooke had been calling Cueto even before the match was over regarding giving Black a second chance, to which Cueto responded by giving Black a match with Rey Mysterio. After interference by the Worldwide Underground was thwarted by DA Jr., he was defeated by Mysterio. Appeared with the rest of the Worldwide Underground in Dario Cueto's office as he instructed them not to interfere in Mundo's match with DA Jr., and was promised an opportunity at an Aztec Medallion in exchange. After the match, he helped hold back Mysterio as Mundo attacked his son Dominick. Teamed with Taya and Mandel for a chance at an Aztec Medallion, but lost to the Rabbit Tribe before being berated by Cooke backstage. Joined his brethren in attacking Mysterio during a face-to-face with Mysterio and Mundo, leading to a free-for-all eventually involving much of the roster. Black teamed with his Worldwide Underground partners and Marty "The Moth" Martinez to defeat Prince Puma, Sexy Star, Cage, and Fenix. Competed in a unique opportunity battle royal at Ultima Lucha Tres, making it to the final two before being defeated by The Mack.

Black joined his teammates in attacking Puma during Puma's match with Mundo, but was run off by Angelico.

Black was present at a meeting of the Worldwide Underground, where he learned that the Reptile Tribe had declared war on them. He was also introduced to Ricky's doll, Rosa. Black assisted Mundo and Taya in defeating Kobra Moon and Daga, but was attacked by Vibora post-match and tormented by the Reptiles. Alongside Taya, Black tried to assist Mundo against Vibora, but was run off by Drago and Daga. He attacked again after the match, but was run off again. Was defeated by Daga in a match, then tried to attack Daga with Mundo and Taya, but the appearance of Vibora and Drago evened the odds. During the attack, he introduced kendo sticks, attacking Vibora with them, to no avail.

Black teamed with Mundo, Taya, and Aerostar (replacing Ricky Mundo, who'd been kicked out of the match) in a winning effort against the Reptile Tribe. After displaying outrage for Mundo using the wish they'd won on Aerostar, he revealed he'd been carrying Taya's engagement ring for Mundo, looking on as he proposed to her. He attended Mundo and Taya's wedding shower, giving them a gift certificate to the Slamtown Spa and Resort as a gift. Originally meant to be Mundo's best man, he was downgraded to 'best-ish' man after Joey Wrestling showed up, and he engaged in the verbal abuse of Ricky Mundo along with everyone else. As a result, while attending Mundo and Taya's wedding, he was destroyed by Matanza, who sent him crashing into one of the tables with the taco catering that Antonio Cueto had provided. Much later, he was handpicked by Antonio Cueto to compete for the Gift of the Gods and competed in a battle royal, where he helped to eliminate Hernandez but was eliminated by Dante Fox. Black competed for the Gift of the Gods and was eliminated by Jake Strong before having his ankle snapped.

    Kobra Moon

Kobra Moon (Current Lucha Underground Trios Champion)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kobramoon.png
A mysterious female competitor to the Temple, Kobra Moon is a master thief who seeks to make a name for herself using her wiles, skills and ruthlessness. Like the heavenly body from which she takes her name, she is beautiful and feminine, but like the serpent also from which she takes her name, she strikes fast and deadly and is cold-blooded to the core. She got wins over Bengala and Sexy Star before suffering her first loss at the hands of Ivelisse. She would later compete in a four-way against Daga, Mascarita Sagrada, and Argenis, during which she would become more than a little besotted with Daga to the point of yielding victory to him. Cheered her newfound crush on and even interfered on his behalf against Son of Havoc, then attempted to seduce him after the match, only to be repulsed once more. Looked on from the top of Dario Cueto's office as Daga won his way into the Gift of the Gods match, and as he was defeated during the match. Season 3 revealed that she and Drago have history, as they used to belong to the same tribe before Drago departed over a thousand years ago. Or rather, her people enslaved Drago. She spoke to Drago again later, revealing the fate of Daga, the existence of an entity named Pindar, and that the entity would make Drago kneel to her as his queen. Competed in Aztec Warfare III; she took a seat on the announce table before being attacked and shortly eliminated by Drago. Appeared after Fire Space and Fury's successful Trios titles defense to once again threaten Drago. From her throne, she dispatched Pindar and another of her generals, Vibora, to retrieve Drago (heavily implied to have been the third great general of the Serpent Tribe). Moon requested a match against Drago, but was disqualified when Pindar interfered. Aerostar and Fenix appeared to assist Drago against the interloper, causing Moon to summon Vibora, who made fairly quick work of Drago's partners. She then instructed her generals to carry Drago off. They later confronted - and destroyed - Aerostar and Fenix in the men's room, and she would later speak to a chained Drago within the Serpent Temple. Moon led her Generals into battle against the Rabbit Tribe, ordering a chained and collared Drago to take her place in the match. Upon their victory, she would chain Drago once more, only to be run off by Fenix and Aerostar. However, her brainwashing of Drago had taken hold, leading him to betray Fenix and Aerostar, returning to her side and bringing the Trios titles with him. Seconded her General Pindar to the ring for a first round Cueto Cup match and interfered on his behalf against Mascarita Sagrada, also doing so with Drago (against Aerostar) and Vibora (against Paul London). Was seen berating Vibora after his countout loss to London. Seconded Pindar to the ring for his second round Cueto Cup match with Cage, then celebrated the win after Cage was disqualified. After Drago was defeated by Pentagon Dark, she tried to prevent his arm from being broken, but was superkicked away by Pentagon. Moon accompanied Pindar to his quarterfinal match with Fenix, and was very displeased at his loss, as it ensured that none of the Reptile Tribe would attain the Cueto Cup. Accompanied Drago to his match with The Mack, and her interference was key in her General winning an Aztec Medallion. She was then almost Stunned by Mack, but saved by Pindar and Vibora. Accompanied Drago for the Gift of the Gods match, though her General did not win. She entered Ultima Lucha Tres with her Generals and was incensed after they lost the Trios titles.

After Ultima Lucha Tres, it was revealed that she had not been truthful regarding Daga's fate. He was very much alive, having sworn fealty to her before slaying Pindar at her behest.

Moon accompanied her king to Aztec Warfare IV, and was made very upset after Daga was eliminated by Johnny Mundo. She promptly sicced Vibora on Mundo, and the two destroyed him, leaving him to be pinned by Marty "The Moth" Martinez. Moon accompanied Drago to the ring for his match against Dragon Azteca Jr., only to watch as her general was defeated. After the match, she and Drago were antagonized and attacked by Mundo and Taya. In a meeting of the Worldwide Underground, it was revealed that she had declared war on them. She and Daga were defeated by Mundo and Taya with the assistance of PJ Black, though she would have the last laugh as Vibora attacked all three and she helped torment Taya and Black while proclaiming that Mundo would kneel to her and call her his queen. She accompanied Vibora to his match with Mundo, getting involved against Taya and at one point being laid out at ringside by a diving Mundo. She was attacked again after the match, but led the Reptiles in running off the Worldwide Underground. Accompanied Daga to his match with Black and cheered him on, then was attacked by the Worldwide Underground afterward. After Vibora set them to running, she addressed Mundo, saying that the Reptile Tribe was his future, and that he had to accept or perish. In return, Mundo made a deal with her: one match, where if she won, he would join her Tribe, and if she lost, she would grant him a single wish.

Though she had lost her enforcer to Mundo and Taya invading her Temple, Moon was not fazed in the slightest. She soon revealed that, through unknown means, she had secured the body of Jeremiah Crane, reviving him with her venom and making him into Jeremiah Snake. Even with the assistance of her newest subject, the Reptile Tribe lost the Atomicos match against the Worldwide Underground. She made ready to lead her Tribe out of the Temple, but was stopped by Mundo, who reminded her of the stipulation for the match. He then gave the wish to Aerostar and demanded that she free Drago, which she begrudgingly did. As the Reptiles had not received their owed rematch for the Trios titles from when they were defeated back at Ultima Lucha Tres, she went to Antonio Cueto and requested it, a request that was granted. She and her Tribe would take advantage of infighting between Killshot and Son of Havoc to win the titles back. The Tribe's first defense, against Aerostar, Fenix, and Drago, went the same way, as they took advantage of Fenix turning on his partners to retain, and Moon triumphantly announced her team as the winners. She led the Tribe into their second defense, defeating XO Lishus, Ivelisse, and Joey Ryan. Successfully defended the Trios titles in a three-way Trios match against the Rabbits and XO Lishus, Ivelisse, and Sammy Guevara at Ultima Lucha Cuatro, with her and her Tribe taking full advantage of the White Rabbit injuring Guevara and the ensuing handicap situation after the Rabbits were eliminated.
  • First Appearance: "The Dark and the Mysterious" (Season 2, episode 2)
  • Alignment: Rudo
  • Aztec Tribe Affiliation: Reptile (leader and queen)
  • Allies: Daga, Jeremiah Snake
  • Current Feud: None
  • Former Feuds: Drago, Fenix, Aerostar, Johnny Mundo, Taya, PJ Black, Jack Evans, Ricky Mundo
  • Aztec Warfare Entry Numbers: 19 (Aztec Warfare III)

  • Abhorrent Admirer: Was this for Daga, and he really didn't like it.
  • Animal Motif: The cobra, the classic evil snake.
  • Cool Chair: She sits on a huge golden throne shaped like a cobra's head.
  • Dark Action Girl: She outright says it in her own words in her introductory vignette.
Kobra Moon: "I've been called a lot of things in my life: cold-blooded, sinful, evil, sssssexy, venomous. The truth is I'm all of these things, and together they make me deadly."
  • Femme Fatale: She is much more seductive and teasing inside the ring than any other female competitor save for possibly Reklusa.
  • God Save Us from the Queen!: Queen of the Reptile Tribe, one which she rules over with an iron fist.
  • In Love with Your Carnage: Possibly the root of her infatuation with Daga, as she started crushing on him while competing against him in a match.
    • Human Sacrifice: Another interpretation of her infatuation with Daga is that she was marking him for this, as Season 3 revealed early on that she basically had him killed... or so she said, as he was later revealed to be still alive.
  • Leg Cling: To Daga, constantly. And he really didn't like it.
  • Make a Wish: In Season 4, she promised a wish to Johnny Mundo if the Worldwide Underground defeated her Reptile Tribe. Even though it cost her Drago, she made good on her promise.
  • Meaningful Name: She is both nocturnal and snake-like.
  • Reptiles Are Abhorrent: That association with the snake makes it very evident that she is NOT a nice girl.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Played with. She was more active in the ring during Season 2 when she was still getting the Reptile Tribe set up, and once they were there she transitioned into a managerial role. After not wrestling at all during Season 3, she unexpectedly returned to the ring in Season 4.
  • Snakes Are Sexy: She moves very seductively and licks her lips a lot to emphasize her sex appeal.
  • Snakes Are Sinister: Sensing a pattern?
  • Sssssnake Talk: Frequently extends her s's when she talks.
  • The Vamp: Oh hell yes. Described by everyone as pure evil right from her debut, and her transition from Femme Fatale master thief to queen of the Reptile Tribe only enhanced it.
  • Villain Respect: Respected Mundo's cold-blooded beheading of Vibora, stating that as a reason why he belonged in the Reptile Tribe.

    Joey Ryan

Joey Ryan (AKA Officer Meehan)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zrx4eubp_400x400.png
One of the most well-known California-based talents in professional wrestling... and, surprisingly, a police officer. With Cortez Castro having failed to bring down Dario Cueto from the inside and having lost track of him since he fled the Temple, their superiors on the force made the call to send Ryan in as backup to bring Cueto in upon his return to the Temple. Unfortunately, despite having bragged to his reluctant partner that he would make good on his Lucha Underground debut, he was defeated by Cage. Ryan would later win an internet exclusive fatal fourway match and earn himself a chance to compete in Aztec Warfare II, during which he would handcuff himself to the railing in an attempt to keep from being eliminated. Unfortunately, this made him an easy target. Later in the match, Matanza would rip him free of the railing before eliminating him. With Dario and his brother back in the Temple, Ryan was put in a team with Castro and Mr. Cisco, to compete in the Trios tournament while they continued their investigation. They won their first-round match against the makeshift team of Marty "The Moth" Martinez, Mariposa and The Mack, but failed to win the finals. Ryan would later defeat his allies in the Crew to claim the seventh Aztec Medallion. Unfortunately for him, Dario Cueto was tipped off that there may be police moles within the Temple. Failed to win the Gift of the Gods. Ryan, with Castro in tow, would soon enter Cueto's office to investigate, looking for evidence, only for Cisco to walk in on both. Before Ryan's rather foolish decision could blow their cover, Castro arrested Cisco. Teamed with Castro and Cisco once more, but thanks to his arguing with his teammates, he failed to earn an Aztec Medallion. Ryan was listening in along with Castro as Cisco's cover was blown. After Dario returned to the Temple, Ryan went to him, blew both his and Castro's cover, and offered to be a double agent in his employ. Ryan would also deliver a mysterious envelope to Killshot. Ryan was later seen shooting the breeze with Cueto in his office after Castro was destroyed by Matanza, but would leave before Son of Havoc and Mascarita Sagrada entered. Proving that he had not learned from the last time he tried it, Ryan handcuffed himself to the stair rail during Aztec Warfare III, but the handcuffs broke courtesy of Mil Muertes, who quickly eliminated him. Ryan competed in the Battle of the Bulls, but was pinned by Cage. Competed against Texano, but came off on the losing end courtesy of interference by Famous B and Brenda. Competed in the Cueto Cup, but was defeated in the first round by Taya. Having been asked to report on anything suspicious, Ryan went to Cueto and stated that he suspected that the masked wrestler Veneno was Castro, which caused Veneno to be put in a lucha de apuesta (mask vs. mask) against Sexy Star. Joined the free-for-all and was for some reason attacked by Vinnie Massaro. During the apuesta, Ryan ran down to ringside and yanked the mask off Veneno, confirming his suspicions that it was Castro under the mask and getting the match thrown out in the process. Faced and defeated Sexy Star after interference by Taya. Faced and was defeated by Castro in a 5-0 Street Fight for an Aztec Medallion. Competed in a unique opportunity battle royal at Ultima Lucha Tres, but did not win.

Ryan entered Aztec Warfare IV and once again tried the handcuff trick, this time handcuffing himself to the ring rope. However, he showed he'd learned from his past failures by uncuffing himself midway through, but made a different mistake: attacking Pentagon Dark. He was promptly eliminated by him. Ryan returned to face Ivelisse in a match for an Aztec Medallion, but was defeated. Ryan teamed with Jack Evans to face Ivelisse and XO Lishus in a winning effort, but was shocked at his partner's behavior towards Lishus at the end and even tried to get him to let go of a submission hold. He was then nearly attacked by Ivelisse before clarifying that he had tried to pull Evans off as well. He later intervened in Lishus and Evans' No Mas match, talking Evans out of attempted murder. After explaining again to Ivelisse that he was not there to hurt Lishus, he celebrated Lishus' win with the two of them. He and Lishus soon decided to team, and after Ivelisse's failed shot at the Gift of the Gods, they asked her to team with them as well. Challenged for the Trios titles alongside his partners, but failed to win, and was attacked afterward by Paul London and El Bunny on the orders of the White Rabbit. Teamed with XO and Ivelisse to face the Rabbits, but was defeated by them when he passed out convulsing to the White Rabbit's mandible claw submission. Unfortunately, this resulted in him having to sit out Ultima Lucha Cuatro, and he was replaced by Sammy Guevara.

For tropes related to Ryan, please see his page.
  • First Appearance: "The Hunt Is On..." (Season 2, episode 3)
  • Alignment: Tweener. Seems XO Lishus has had quite an effect on Ryan...
  • Allies: XO Lishus, Ivelisse
  • Current Feuds: The Rabbit Tribe, El Bunny, The White Rabbit
  • Former Feuds: Cortez Castro
  • Aztec Warfare Entry Numbers: 6 (Aztec Warfare II), 17 (Aztec Warfare III), 4 (Aztec Warfare IV)

    Taya Mundo

Taya Mundo

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/taya.png
The Crazy White Girl
Johnny Mundo's main squeeze and a star in Mexico, she made her debut to assist her man in defeating Cage during Season 2. She soon took Mundo's place in facing Cage in a no-disqualification match, which she lost after an interfering Mundo fled to avoid Cage's wrath. Was able to eliminate Cage with help during Aztec Warfare II, but was immediately eliminated by Fenix. Was pinned again, this time in an intergender tag match against the Crew, when Cage appeared to scare Mundo. Was later forced to team with Cage along with Mundo for the Trios tournament, with disastrous results. During the "Cage in a cage" match against Mundo, Taya did everything she could on the outside, handing Mundo weapons and even fighting in the cage at one point. However, her dirty tricks finally backfired when Cage got her handcuffed to the ropes and Mundo accidentally nailed her with a chair, leading to his defeat. When Johnny Mundo was placed with Ivelisse and Son of Havoc to challenge for the Trios titles, she and Ivelisse could not get along, and she went on to attack her after the match. Supported Mundo in a backstage attack on Fenix and cheered the newly former Trio of Mundo, Jack Evans, and PJ Black on as they won the Trios titles. Her distractions soon became a key element in the team pulling off their trademark Groin Attacks. Competed in a 12-person match for a chance at #1 Contendership; as her team won, she was entered in a six-person match for the honor. With Johnny Mundo's help, Taya eliminated Ivelisse in the match before getting eliminated herself by Pentagon Jr. Teamed with rival Ivelisse for a chance at an Aztec Medallion; however, an accidental spear to her impromptu partner cost the makeshift team the match and the Medallions. Thanks to an assist from Catrina, she defeated Ivelisse at Ultima Lucha Dos. Received a shot at the Gift of the Gods during the first episode of Season 3 by virtue of being the only member of Worldwide Underground that did not lose at Dos, but was defeated by Sexy Star. Participated in the post-Ultima Lucha Dos attack on Angelico. Teamed with Black and Evans to challenge for the Trios titles, and was frustrated with Evans' antics to the point of dragging him back to the ring by his topknot. She participated in the attack on the Trios champs post-match, and was run off by Sexy Star. Was on the winning side of an Atomicos match along with the rest of Worldwide Underground, but had to be carried out by Johnny and PJ after apparently injuring her leg during the match, and was not present when Sexy Star defended against Evans, or lost to Mundo. Was later shown filming Mundo for a documentary, but did not compete in or even come to ringside for Aztec Warfare III. Her interference was instrumental in Mundo winning the championship from Sexy Star, as she had disguised herself before attacking Sexy outside the ring. Celebrated the win with the rest of the Worldwide Underground after the match. On crutches, she continued to film Mundo's documentary, interviewing Black and Evans for it. Her interference in Mundo's championship rematch with The Mack directly led to him retaining the title. Entered the Cueto Cup in her first match back from injury, defeating Joey Ryan in the first round. Taya interfered in Black's match against Sexy Star, getting Sexy disqualified in the process, then interfered in DA Jr.'s match with Dante Fox as a prelude to Mysterio getting attacked by Worldwide Underground, which she wholeheartedly took part in. Taya competed against Jeremiah Crane in the second round of the Cueto Cup, during which she was distracted by Sexy Star and ultimately lost. After the match, Sexy knocked her out with the same brass knuckles she'd thrown to Black. Along with the rest of the Worldwide Underground, was introduced to Mundo's agent/lawyer, Benjamin Cooke. Took part in the attack on Mysterio during his match with Black, but was run off by DA Jr. Appeared with the rest of the Worldwide Underground in Dario Cueto's office as he instructed them not to interfere in Mundo's match with DA Jr., promising her an opportunity at an Aztec Medallion in exchange. After the match, she helped hold Mysterio back as Mundo attacked his son Dominick. Teamed with Black and Mandel for a chance at an Aztec Medallion, but lost to the Rabbit Tribe before being berated by Cooke backstage. Joined her brethren in attacking Mysterio during a face-to-face with Mysterio and Mundo, eventually leading to a free-for-all involving much of the roster. Appeared during Sexy Star's match with Joey Ryan, distracting her enough for Ryan to win. Teamed with her Worldwide Underground partners and Marty "The Moth" Martinez to defeat Prince Puma, Sexy Star, Cage, and Fenix. Faced and was defeated by Sexy Star in a Last Luchadora Standing match at Ultima Lucha Tres.

Premiered her documentary about Mundo at Ultima Lucha Tres, then joined her teammates in attacking Puma during his match with him, only to be run off by Angelico.

Returned at Mundo's side in Season 4 to antagonize and attack Kobra Moon and Drago after Drago's loss to DA Jr. Was present at a meeting of the Worldwide Underground, where she learned that the Reptile Tribe had declared war on them and was introduced to Ricky's doll, Rosa. She and Mundo defeated Moon and Daga with the assistance of Black, but all three were attacked by Vibora and she and Black were tormented by the Reptiles. She accompanied Mundo for his match with Vibora and interfered heavily in the match, but was run off by Drago and Daga. She attacked again post-match, but was run off once more. Alongside Mundo and eventually Ricky, she attacked Daga after his match with Black, but was run off by Vibora after the WWU isolated him in the ring and he overpowered them. Later, she and Mundo infiltrated the Reptile Temple, where they were caught by Vibora. After defeating him in a rough battle, she decapitated him. Taya was shocked and angered when Mundo chose to use the wish that they and Aerostar had earned by defeating the Reptiles in an Atomicos match on Aerostar, confronting him afterward, then burst into tears when he clarified that his real wish could only be granted by her before asking her to marry him, to which she said yes. During their wedding shower, she first gave him a portrait of himself with the Lucha Underground championship, then revealed that she had gone to Antonio Cueto and requested a match on his behalf for the title. Her wedding to Mundo nearly went off without a hitch, but unfortunately for her, though she had no part in the WWU's verbal abuse of Ricky Mundo this time, the actions of her soon-to-be husband and the rest of the WWU against Ricky caused the complete destruction of the ceremony. Ricky, scorned by his supposed allies, released Matanza to crash the wedding. Bloodied from the Monster headbutting her, she fought back and was slammed into her wedding cake. With revenge on her mind, she returned to the Temple after a month and a half, seeking revenge against Matanza for crashing her wedding. She challenged him to a match, but Antonio Cueto intervened and tried to make her a sacrifice. Though she fought her hardest and took Matanza to the limit, she was about to be finished off by the Monster when her husband intervened and got her to safety. Later in the night, she was challenged by Ricky Mundo to a match for Ultima Lucha Cuatro. Upon seeing Matanza attack Mundo, she promptly attacked Matanza as well, but was destroyed by the Monster. Taya soundly defeated Ricky at Ultima Lucha Cuatro, and in a very foolish decision, chose to take Rosa with her instead of destroying the doll.

Her decision to take Rosa from Ricky soon proved disastrous, as Rosa began to speak to her, soon proclaiming her the "perfect host" before possessing her. Under Rosa's influence, she attacked her husband after he returned from his match with Matanza, and was later confirmed to have aligned herself with the Order afterward.
  • First Appearance: "The Machine" (Season 2, episode 5)
  • Alignment: Rudo
  • Ally: Rosa, Agent Winter, Antonio Cueto, the Unknown Benefactor, Jake Strong, Vampiro's Master
  • Current Feuds: Johnny Mundo (husband, estranged thanks to Rosa)
  • Former Feuds: Cage, Ivelisse, Sexy Star, Rey Mysterio (by association with Johnny Mundo), Kobra Moon, Vibora, Drago, Daga, Matanza, Ricky Mundo, Rosa
  • Aztec Warfare Entry Numbers: 9 (Aztec Warfare II)

  • Alpha Bitch: Ooh yeah, she's a nasty girl to cross.
  • Amazonian Beauty: She's not massive, but she's definitely the biggest, most-ripped (though she lost some of this in Season 4 due to health issues) and physically strongest woman in the temple, hands-down, as well as being an absolute stunner.
  • Demonic Head Shake: When Rosa possessed her.
  • Demonic Possession: By Rosa.
  • Distaff Counterpart: To Johnny, prior to Rosa possessing her. She even comes out to his music and does her version of his entrance, even when he's not present.
  • Enforced Method Acting: Although they officially married in 2017note , Johnny legitimately surprised Taya with the mid ring proposal, and that was their actual ceremonial wedding.
  • A God Am I: While possessed by Rosa, she proclaimed herself to be a god while beating up Johnny Mundo.
  • Lady in Red: During her "Perfect Woman" promo she wore a slinky red dress, which she also wore in Dario's office when he was booking her match against Ivelisse.
  • Precision F-Strike: After defeating Ricky Mundo during Ultima Lucha Cuatro, she yelled at him that he "ruined her fucking wedding" before putting him through a table.
  • Red Baron: "The Perfect Woman", though the Believers also call her "Wera Loca" (Crazy White Girl).
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: As a result of Rosa's possession.
  • Rule of Symbolism: Her wrestling attire in "A Match Made in Heaven" has a heart in it, and Mundo steals it when he asks her to marry him.
  • Shout-Out: Many have compared her Season 4 arc to the plot of Kill Bill, with her as The Bride.
  • Team Mom: On the World Wide Underground- she keeps PJ and Jack in line, and the way she treats Mundo is reminiscent of a mother humouring a spoiled child.
  • Two Guys and a Girl: She teamed up with Mundo and Evans in Aztec Warfare II. This later became "three guys and a girl" when PJ Black joined Mundo and Evans to form a trios team.
  • The Vamp: She's a rudo to her toes as well as being a bombshell.
    • At one point while in Dario's office, she (apparently) pulled a Sharon Stone on him, flustering him a bit.
  • Villainous Valor: Ironically, Taya is the only member of the WWU who doesn't get constant run-ins from the other members for her matches, even though she still does them herself for Mundo, PJ and Jack. This has actually made her the only one of them still capable of getting cheered, as seen in her match against Jeremiah Crane.

    Mariposa

Mariposa

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mariposa.jpg
Somehow looks more creepy than her brother.
The mysterious half-sister of Marty "The Moth" Martinez, who had been tormenting Sexy Star between Seasons 1 and 2. She made her first appearance at the Temple during the March 9th episode, costing The Mack a match against Marty and continuing to stalk Sexy. Her brother would later reveal that she was the latest of a long line of Moth Tribe warriors and the latest - and most powerful - to bear the name Mariposa. Made her in-ring debut on the March 30th episode, crushing Sexy Star with little effort. Teamed with her brother and their enemy The Mack in the Trios tournament, but were eliminated in the first round. Mariposa was later put in a "No Mas" match against Sexy, and despite beating her bloody and throwing her around nearly the entire Temple, Sexy got the upper hand and forced Mariposa to say "no mas," a crushing loss despite Marty's help. Was forced to team with Sexy for an Aztec Medallion; though they still could not get along, they managed to win the match and claim their Medallions. Competed for but failed to win the Gift of the Gods. Mariposa interfered in the Weapons of Mass Destruction match on behalf of her brother, but ended up being put through a table for her troubles. Competed against and was defeated by Ivelisse, then attacked Ivelisse after the match alongside her brother. She accompanied her brother to Ivelisse's revenge match against him, biting her while the ref was distracted and celebrating with him after he won, but received a beatdown from Ivelisse and her new boyfriend Jeremiah when he ran in afterwards. Competed in Aztec Warfare III, as her team won the ten person tag match for the right. She attempted to flirt with Matanza, only to be eliminated by him. Competed in the Battle of the Bulls; though her efforts won her the support of the Believers for a while, she did not win the match. She was later confronted by a furious Sexy Star, and thoroughly denied being the one to place the tarantula in Sexy's locker. Faced Sexy in a match, as Sexy still believed she was behind the tarantulas. After her loss, she was comforted by her brother, only to be attacked by him. Abducted her brother and left him tied up backstage, much like he had left Sexy Star back in Season 1. Expressed her disapproval for her brother's obsession with Melissa Santos. Competed in the Cueto Cup, but was eliminated in the first round by Fenix. Seconded her brother to his match with Fenix and blatantly interfered in it. After the match, she forced Melissa to watch as Marty carved up Fenix with a fork. Seconded Marty for his match with Argenis, blatantly interfering in it as well. Teamed with Marty to face and defeat Fenix and Melissa Santos, with her tying Fenix to the ring to prevent him from saving Melissa before they brutalized and pinned her, then was chased off by Fenix before they could cut Melissa's hair. Mariposa finally had enough of her half-brother's treatment of her when he used her as a human shield during his match with Fenix at Ultima Lucha Tres, flipping him off before leaving the ringside area. She returned to block Marty's escape post-match, hitting him with a chair before handcuffing him to the stair rails and bringing out a tray of barber tools for Fenix and Melissa to use on his hair. It was later revealed that she had not actually turned on him, but was attempting to motivate him, believing that he was destined for greatness.

Sporting shorter, dyed hair, she entered Aztec Warfare IV and attacked Tommy Dreamer with his own kendo stick, but was soon eliminated by Son of Havoc. She showed up at her half-brother's house, dragging his sleeping body across the floor before dumping a vase of water on him to wake him. As she berated him, she began to direct his plans for revenge against Pentagon Dark away from taking Pentagon's teeth and toward taking Pentagon's title instead. She went to Antonio Cueto's office, flirting with him before paying him to make a match against Dragon Azteca Jr. for the Gift of the Gods title, a match that she would unfortunately lose. With her half-sibling winning the championship thanks to her advice, she was the first to receive a title shot. Though she and Marty would beat the holy hell out of each other, she would ultimately lose and have her arm broken by him.

    The Beautiful Brenda

The Beautiful Brenda
Famous B's first 'discovery', Brenda first appeared in his commercials then began to accompany him on his search for a new client. Cheered on Mascarita Sagrada while B managed him, then was shocked and dismayed when B turned on his charge. Soon cozied up to B's next client, Dr. Wagner Jr. Brenda interfered in Famous B's match with Mascarita Sagrada, but was left a sobbing mess after she received a pie in the face. She cheered both Wagner Jr. and Famous B on in Aztec Warfare III. Was on hand to cheer on Wagner Jr. during the Battle of the Bulls, and was with Famous B when he spoke to Texano backstage. Brenda, appearing to be sweet on Texano, gave him a lucky horseshoe to defeat Joey Ryan with. Brenda was even more sweet on Texano during the Cueto Cup, slapping him on the behind after his match with Famous B. Brenda approached Texano in a bar, blatantly hitting on him as Famous B lurked in the background, obviously using her as bait. She told him she found him boring, then calmed him down by telling him that what he needed was "a woman's touch". Consoled Famous B after Pentagon Dark broke his arm, and was promptly targeted and had her arm broken as well. Brenda served as a guest timekeeper the same week Famous B was guest ring announcer. It was her well-timed liplock on Texano that allowed B to roll him up, bringing him into Infamous Incorporated by force.

Brenda returned alongside Famous B as B introduced his handpicked opponents for the Trios champions, and looked on as miscommunication cost Infamous Incorporated the match and as Jake Strong snapped B's ankle. Brenda was on hand to watch as Strong defeated and did the same to Big Bad Steve. She attended Johnny Mundo and Taya's wedding as Taya's maid of honor, and was only spared by Matanza because she fainted the very moment he looked at her. Brenda accompanied Big Bad Steve to his match with Killshot, and helped him backstage after his defeat. Brenda was at Famous B's side when he announced his return from retirement, and attempted to comfort him after his loss to Ricky Mundo. Unfortunately this left her vulnerable, and Ricky, in an attempt to show Taya what he had in store for her at Ultima Lucha Cuatro, choked her out atop B.

The doctor is in!
One of many legendary luchadors who have set foot in the Temple since its inception, Dr. Wagner Jr. made his Lucha Underground debut at Ultima Lucha Dos as the newest client of Famous B. He defeated Son of Havoc at the end of the first week of the event, netting himself and his management $250,000 in the process. In his first Season 3 appearance, he destroyed Mascarita Sagrada, and would later destroy him again in a tag match also involving Famous B. and Son of Havoc. Was defeated by Havoc in a match to decide the stipulation of Sagrada vs. Famous B. Interfered in Sagrada vs. Famous B, but was run off by Son of Havoc. Competed in Aztec Warfare III, but was eliminated by Matanza. Competed in the Battle of the Bulls, but did not win his match. From there, he was not seen or mentioned again until the first week of Ultima Lucha Tres, when he made his return as Famous B's tag team partner.

Mentioned in Season 4 as Famous B's tag partner, but did not appear as B stated that both him and Texano were elsewhere making money. He was later mentioned as part of Infamous Incorporated's wedding services, and again as a possible tag partner for Sammy Guevara. He physically did not appear during Season 4, despite being mentioned.
  • First Appearance: "Ultima Lucha Dos; Week One" (Season 2, episode 24)
  • Alignment: Rudo
  • Allies: Famous B, The Beautiful Brenda, Texano (forced), Big Bad Steve
  • Current Feuds: None
  • Former Feuds: Son of Havoc, Mascarita Sagrada
  • Aztec Warfare Entry Numbers: 9 (Aztec Warfare III)

  • Catchphrase: "Bien, bien, bien" ("Good, good, good"), although he doesn't get to say it on the show with Famous B doing all the talking for him.
  • Deadly Doctor: Not explicitly a medical professional, but this is part of his theme.
  • Legacy Character: As the "Jr." is his name obviously indicates.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: Doesn't really engage in heelish behavior himself as such, despite technically being a rudo. His villainy is mainly restricted to being managed by Famous B and beating up faces B gets him matches against (such as Son of Havoc).
  • Ring Oldies: A bona-fide lucha legend like Blue Demon Jr. He is in his 50s but still regularly competes.
  • Wrestling Family: Like most famous luchadores. Son of the original Dr. Wagner, brother of Silver King, father of El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., and ex-husband of luchadora Rossy Moreno.

    Daga

Daga (Current Lucha Underground Trios Champion)

The Serpent King
Former tag team partner of Texano, Daga competed against his former partner for an Aztec Medallion, but unfortunately came up short. Would later win a four-way against Mascarita Sagrada, Argenis, and Kobra Moon, though he would attract the unwanted attentions of Kobra Moon in the process. Repulsed Moon once more after coming out on the losing end against Son of Havoc. With Moon once again looking on, defeated Mascarita Sagada to win an Aztec Medallion, earning his way into a Gift of the Gods title match at Ultima Lucha Dos. Even though Moon cheered him on once more, he failed to win the Gift of the Gods. Disappeared immediately afterward; originally, his fate was revealed by Kobra Moon to Drago as having been torn apart by her general, Pindar. After Ultima Lucha Tres, however, Daga was revealed to be very much alive, having sworn fealty to Moon as her new king. He then dispatched Pindar with a sword.

Accompanied by his queen, he entered Aztec Warfare IV, but was eliminated by Johnny Mundo. Moon subsequently avenged his loss by siccing Vibora on Mundo. Though he and Moon were defeated by Taya and Mundo with the assistance of PJ Black, he helped torment Taya and Black after Vibora destroyed all three. Alongside Drago, he interfered in Vibora's match with Mundo to help run off Taya and PJ Black, then ran them off again after the match. Defeated Black in a match and was saved from a WWU beatdown by Drago and Vibora. Joined Moon, Drago, and new Reptile Tribe recruit Jeremiah Snake (replacing the decapitated Vibora) in an Atomicos match, which the Reptiles unfortunately lost. He then lost Drago as a partner, as he was released thanks to the wish Mundo had won from Moon. He would bounce back the next week, as, alongside Jeremiah and Moon, he became a Trios champion, as his team took advantage of infighting between Killshot and Son of Havoc to capture the titles. Their first defense went the same way, as they took advantage of Fenix turning on partners Aerostar and Drago to retain. Joined Moon and Jeremiah in a second successful defense against XO Lishus, Ivelisse, and Joey Ryan. Successfully defended the Trios titles in a three-way Trios match against the Rabbits and XO Lishus, Ivelisse, and Sammy Guevara at Ultima Lucha Cuatro, forcing Lishus to tap out after a handicap situation resulting from the White Rabbit injuring Guevara.
  • First Appearance: "Three's a Crowd" (Season 2, episode 12)
  • Alignment: Rudo
  • Aztec Tribe Affiliation: Reptile (king and consort to Kobra Moon)
  • Allies: Kobra Moon, Jeremiah Snake (doesn't seem to like him)
  • Current Feuds: None
  • Former Feuds: Johnny Mundo, Taya, PJ Black, Jack Evans, Ricky Mundo
  • Aztec Warfare Entry Numbers: 16 (Aztec Warfare IV)

  • Abhorrent Admirer: His reaction to Kobra Moon flirting with him was equal parts confusion and revulsion. Obviously dropped after the reveal that he had joined her as her king.
  • Brainwashed: Possibly, as he was revealed after Ultima Lucha Tres to have devoted himself to Kobra Moon as her king.
  • Establishing Character Moment: In his introductory vignette - an interview with Dario in his office - Daga remarked that nobody was as cold-blooded as him, foreshadowing his future involvement in the Reptile Tribe.
  • Human Sacrifice: A possible interpretation of Kobra Moon's infatuation with him is that she was marking him for this, as Season 3 revealed early on that she basically had him killed... or so she said, as he was later revealed to still be alive.
  • In Love with Your Carnage: Another possible interpretation of Kobra Moon's infatuation with him, as she started crushing on him while competing against him in a match.
  • Jerkass: In his second match in the temple against Mascarita Sagrada, he kept spinning the two of them on the mat so the referee couldn't see Sagrada's attempts to tap out.
  • Not Quite Dead: Near the beginning of Season 3, according to Kobra Moon, he was torn apart by her general, Pindar out of anger for him rejecting her advances. After not appearing all season long, he returned at Ultima Lucha Tres as Kobra Moon's new king.note .
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: According to Eric Van Wagenen, Daga needed to be written off of Season 3 due to not having his immigration papers in order.
  • Leg Cling: Was constantly on the receiving end of this from Kobra Moon. Really didn't like it at the time!

Important Non-Roster Characters Introduced During Season Two

    The Unknown Benefactor

"My Lord", AKA the Unknown Benefactor

The mysterious entity who Councilman Delgado answered to. The Temple was of great importance to him, because he's the one who helped Dario Cueto set it up. Helped get the charges against Dario dropped before Season 3 began, but threatened him with death should he "waste his time" again. As Delgado stated that "his ascension is complete" when giving the casket containing the Gauntlet of the Gods to Cueto, it was at the time heavily implied that he was the one who needed a new "host body", and he may have gotten one in Cage, who won the Best of Five Series to claim the Gauntlet. The Gauntlet, later revealed as a conduit for gods, quickly began to exert its influence on Cage, which would result in the death of Delgado, among other things. He later reappeared in physical form along with Agent Winter, proving that he was not the one in the Gauntlet.

Belongs to an organization called The Order, along with Dario and Agent Winter. After Ultima Lucha Cuatro, he met with Winter, Antonio Cueto, Jake Strong, and Vampiro's Master, and revealed his face for the first time.
