Main Cast
Anju Fujita
A 19 year old girl who’s interested in mechanics. Before death, she was the player character.
- Accidental Murder: How she dies. Sasahara mixes cyanide with water and tells her to drink it, saying its’ medicine.
- Affectionate Nickname: Iroha calls her “My Girl” and “Poodle babe”
- Ambiguously Gay: She “comments” more on the girls than the guys. Her sexuality is never confirmed or outright discussed, but some moments do point towards this.
Iroha Yoneno
An 18 year old girl who loves cats.
- All Women Are Lustful: She makes many comments about Hanbee, to the point of speculating about his kids.
- Dumb Blonde: She tells Anju she has no brain cells.Iroha: Well, you'll need a good laugh when you'll notice that I don't have any brain cell to help you with.
- Pirate Girl: A downplayed example, but she throws pirate speak into her lines occasionally.
Ibuki Hanbee
A 29 year old detective. After Anju’s death, he becomes the player character.
- And Now for Someone Completely Different: He takes over once Anju is killed.
- Child Hater: Downplayed. But he mentions multiple times early on that he hates the thought of having kids.
Doppo Kanokogi
A man in a bear mask.
- Flipping the Bird: One of his sprites has him doing giving the middle finger.
- We Hardly Knew Ye: He’s the first one to die and doesn’t get any Amity Events.
Yuuto Uraraka
A 26 year old vlogger.
- Bait-and-Switch: Anju overhears him and Chloe talking at one point and believes they’re having sex. When she peeks in, though, he’s just braiding her hair.
- Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: He’s a whole foot taller than Chloe. And the other girls, but it’s most prominent with her.
- Real Men Wear Pink: Quite literally, he has bits of pink in his hat and shirt. He also is a talented cook.
- Sir Swears Alot: To the point Chloe has to teach him how to tone it down a bit.
Miwa Amane
A 19 year old model.
- The Gadfly: She mentions a prank she commonly pulled in highschool, where she put a mannequin in front of a bathroom stall while someone was using it. She also finds joy in spooking Anju, and assures her she’s only trying to joke around.
- Locked Out of the Loop: Attempted by Hanbee, Yuzuki, and Joutarou during their plan to open the coldroom.
- Not Afraid to Die: She outright states this during one of her conversations with Anju, stating her fear is being separated from her mother and Churie.
- Soft-Spoken Sadist: A benevolent version, so this is downplayed. She’s very cute and soft-spoken, but she tends to say some very creepy things, including hoping a modeling agency goes bankrupt and hoping a boy’s head got shoved in a toilet. She also enjoys horror movies.
Joutarou Takatsugu
An 18 year old gamer.
- The Baby of the Bunch: He's the youngest.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: The VIP ends up being this. Dokuroku catches them using it on Iroha, and then demands they let him into Yuuto’s prism. This allows him to begin mindhacking Anju, leading to Sasahara murdering her (and subsequently getting executed himself), the mindhacking timeframe being MASSIVELY sped up, and Yuzuki ultimately killing herself to prevent it.
- Overly Long Name: Played for laughs, parodied. Jugemu Jugemu, gokō-no Surikire!
Mokichi Sasahara
A 23 year old botanist.
Yumiki Yuzuki
A 22 year old astrochemist
- Alliterative Name: Yumiki Yuzuki.
- Better to Die than Be Killed: She drinks cyanide (of her own free will) towards the end of the game, knowing she’s going to be mindhacked next.
Chloe Toinel
A 19 year old French girl.
- Bait-and-Switch: Anju overhears her and Yuuto talking at one point and believes they’re having sex. When she peeks in, though, he’s just braiding her hair.
- Bilingual Bonus: She can speak Japanese and French both just fine.
- Break the Cutie: Not only does she have a very sad backstory, the main story takes a massive toll on her already fragile mental state—especially Yuuto’s death.
- Driven to Suicide: Why she travels to Japan in the first place, so she could improve her mental health. She nearly kills herself after Yuuto’s death, as well.
- Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: She’s a whole foot shorter than Yuuto.
- Locked Out of the Loop: She was sleeping at the time of Anju’s death, and isn’t aware of Sasahara killing her. This happens again towards the end of the game where Hanbee and Yuzuki make a plan to open the coldroom, and let Joutarou in on it, but not her and Amane.
