Jujutsu Sorcerers

    Satoru Gojo

Satoru Gojo

"Hey, I don't mean to bug you guys. I'm sure you're busy with your own thing, but I'm new to this town, and out of curiosity, do you think you guys can tell me if there's been anything... strange going around here lately?"

Debut: Chapter 1/Episode 1: Who's That Weird Cursed Kid?

Cursed Technique: Limitless

"Still, The Elders will probably want to know of this. Maybe some of their Blood got mixed up within the populous? It's a possibility. They were high ranking in Jujutsu society, having one of the more sought-after Techniques" - In reference to The Wittebane Family, Chapter 1/Episode 1: Who's That Weird Cursed Kid?

Both the self-proclaimed and literal strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer in the current era, Satoru Gojo is one of the two main protagonists in Jujutsu Kaisen 0.5: Gojo's New Student(s).
  • Ability Mixing: His Hollow Technique: Purple, created by combining his Blue and Red. The fusion of convergence and divergence creates a mass of purple energy that destroys everything in its path.
  • Action Dad: On a technical level, Gojo is this, as he is the sole provider for Megumi Fushiguro and his sister Tsumiki Fushiguro. His other qualification is that he's Gojo Satoru, which is self-explanatory.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: In the main serie, next to nothing was known about Gojo preference in gender. Here, he mention to have had flings with both men and women, as well as having dated Getou for a brief period of time, making him at the very least bisexual.
  • Badass Teacher: Gojo is shown to be insanely powerful and wicked smart in tough situations in both canon and here. He's been a teacher in the past and plans to do so again in regard to Luz and the next class that he plans to teach at Tokyo Jujutsu High School.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Gojo is a jokester through and through. However, that does not mean it is a good idea to underestimate him. He is, quite literally, the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer born in his era, being born with The Six Eyes and Limitless two very broken abilities, effectively making him nigh-unstoppable.
  • Celibate Hero: Downplayed. Gojo remarks he does have an active sex life but isn't looking for a long-term relationship anytime soon, and limits himself to one-night stands. This is much to the chagrin to The Elders, who have been pressuring him to father a heir for his Clan.
  • Deflector Shields: Infinity, his most basic technique, is a barrier that prevents anyone or anything from touching him. That does not mean, however, that he cannot touch anyone. Infinity does not work both ways, meaning that, while you cannot touch him, he can most certainly touch you.
  • Even the Guys Want Him: Gojo has noticed from his travels that some men were attracted to him.
  • Everyone Has Standards: It is briefly mentioned that Gojo finds killing children above him, meaning he is against it entirely.
  • Eye Motifs: His famed "Six Eyes" are a pair of unnaturally glowing, eerie blue eyes which provide an incredible perception of vision and Cursed Energy. With his "Six Eyes", he can see 360 degrees around his entire person, and he can detect Cursed Energy from a way further distance than others. Not only that but thanks to his "Six Eyes" he can see Cursed Energy in a way that no other Sorcerer is capable of, with the only other Sorcerer in recorded history being able to do the same thing has been an ancestor of Satoru Gojo, who had both the "Six Eyes" and Limitless well over 600 years ago.
  • Fantastic Racism: Downplayed. Gojo is extremely iffy with the demon population in The Boiling Isles, specifically bipedal demons, mostly because they resemble Cursed Spirits. It is mentioned that Gojo has to restrain himself from time to time to stop himself from randomly killing civilians because of his experience with Curses and because Curses and Demons are extremely physically similar. However, that does not mean he isn't actively trying to curb the issue, as the longer he lives in the Demon Realm, the more comfortable he becomes with the demons.
  • Friend to All Children: Despite believing he's not great with kids, Gojo will do his best to help his students out the best he can.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Don't get it twisted, Gojo might be a nice person, but make him angry or be stupid enough of fight him, and you'll soon realize that Gojo is a two-sided coin. On one side, he's a charming, nice, caring if not goofy individual. On the other side of the coin... well, most people don't live long enough to tell what happens when you piss Gojo off. Not unless Gojo is in a particularly good mood.
  • Mystical White Hair: A trait within the Gojo Clan, Satoru Gojo inherits this from his family, and as such it makes him stand out. Given his powers some see him as a God in human form, despite him being every bit as mortal as those he surrounds himself with.
  • One-Man Army: He is the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer alive, after all.
  • Sink or Swim Mentor: At one point of Luz's training, Gojo gets her to fight a Curse Spirit for the first time and its on her own without his help.
  • Space Master: Gojo's Limitless Technique allows him to bring Infinity into reality by bending the finite space around him infinity and supercharging it with Cursed Energy, giving him access to his techniques like Reversal Red, Lapse Blue, and Hollow Purple.
  • Unrealistic Black Hole: Gojo's Lapse: Blue, because it has properties of a black hole due to it actively sucking up mass like a black hole, as seen with its Maximum variant.

     Luz Noceda

Luz Noceda

"That. Was. AWESOME!"

Debut: Chapter 1/Episode 1: Who's That Weird Cursed Kid?

Cursed Technique: Unknown

"No! [...] Ah, well, I mean... I kinda don't want to, I mean, don't get me wrong, it's probably a good idea, but..." - Luz to Satoru Gojo and Eda Clawthorne about going home after just getting to The Boiling Isles

A teenage Afro-Latina girl with a boundless amount of Cursed Energy, as well as Satoru Gojo's newest student, Luz Noceda is one of the two main protagonists in Jujutsu Kaisen 0.5: Gojo's New Student(s).
  • Adaptational Badass: Luz has Cursed Energy, and because she has Cursed Energy, once she is trained of course, Luz will be able to contend with even some of the top tiers of the Jujutsu Kaisen universe as a Jujutsu Sorcerer. At least, Gojo thinks so, anyway.
  • Action Girl: as one of the main protagonists of Jujutsu Kaisen 0.5: Gojo's New Student(s), Luz is going to wind up being this. It is fate.
  • The Apprentice: In canon The Owl House Luz is the apprentice to Eda Clawthrone. Here, however, Luz is the apprentice of the one and only Satoru Gojo.
  • Empowered Badass Normal: In canon The Owl House, Luz was already this thanks to her lack of magic but use of Glyphs. Here, Luz has access to Cursed Energy, giving her a level of power she never had before.
  • The Everyman: Luz is very much this until going to The Boiling Isles. She's just a kid trying to get by in a world that would much rather see her conform to what they want her to be.
  • Heroic BSoD: When Luz finds out she cannot use a Light Glyph, something a baby witch can do just fine, Luz gets overwhelmed and upset to the point of crying upon learning this. It is only when Gojo cheers up her, telling her she is still special in another way that she gets out of the funk that she finds herself in.
  • Kid Hero: This is what Luz will end up becoming as the story progresses
  • Magical Girl: Due to her boundless Cursed Energy, Luz will end up becoming this, as the world at large knows nothing of Cursed Spirits.
  • Naive Every Girl: Luz is very naive to the world around her, and as such, can easily get distracted by random things she's never seen before, or things she's never experienced before, despite their proposed danger.
  • Teen Genius: In regards to Cursed Energy. She's able to grasp the very basics of Cursed Energy in one training session, whereas most people take several days to even get past the first hurdle.

Witches

     Eda Clawthorne

Edalyn "Eda" Clawthorne

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/download_655.jpg
"So, not only do you wander through someone else's door, but you also break into another person's shop and then ask to leave after being caught. What do you think I am, a saint?"

Debut: Chapter 1/Episode 1: Who's That Weird Cursed Kid?

"Gotta admit, Blindfold, I'm starting to like you." - Eda Clawthorne to Satoru Gojo after he used Reversal: Red to blast away a Coven Guard that had been harassing her.

Fugitive to the rest of The Boiling Isles, Edalyn "Eda" Clawthorne is a major supporting character in Jujutsu Kaisen 0.5: Gojo's New Student(s).
  • Accidental Kidnapping: The whole reason why the plot happens in the first place. Using the portal door to gather human garbage to sell to those in The Boiling Isles, Eda ends up accidentally whisking away Satoru Gojo and Luz Noceda into The Boiling Isles, though she promises to bring them home... eventually.
  • Cool Old Lady: Eda Clawthorne in a nutshell. She's a wanted fugitive, and she's a powerful witch. How much cooler can you get?!
  • Deadpan Snarker: Is quite sassy to anyone she talks to. Most find it annoying, but Gojo finds it humourous.
  • Mama Bear: Despite only knowing her for a little over a week, the mere idea of something bad happening to Luz triggers some sort of paternal instinct in Eda, making her get defensive when Gojo brings up the prospect of the latter part of his mission having been to potentially kill her per his bosses orders.
  • Older Than They Look: Inverted - Eda is much younger than she appears, being in her early 40s rather than what she is, appearing as if she's in her late 60s.
  • The Slacker: Whenever she isn't manning her shop, which she only does when she absolutely has due, though mostly because she's a fugitive, Eda lounges about the house reading the copious amounts of books on her bookshelf.

     Lilith Clawthorne

Lilith Clawthorne

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/3493ffae81eeee50a938a9581d98cf7c7b4e7d13.png
"The Emperor... he must know"

Debut: Chapter 2/Episode 2: Cursed With Cursed Energy

Eda Clawthorne's older sister and a member of The Emperor Coven, specifically its current leader, Lilith Clawthorne is a reoccurring minor antagonist in Jujutsu Kaisen 0.5: Gojo's New Student(s)
  • The Archmage: Seemingly this due to her position in The Emperor Coven, aside from The Emperor.
  • Dark Is Evil: Her outfit is mostly black, with dark blue hair and pale skin. If that doesn't scream evil, then what does?
  • The Dragon: She is this to The Emperor.
  • Not in My Contract: She might be really strong and she might be one of the strongest Witches in The Boiling Isles, but she's not stupid enough to go fight Satoru Gojo, especially after what she just witnessed.
  • Oh, Crap!: Lilith Clawthorne has this reaction when she watches the batch of Coven Guards she was asked to command to take down Satoru Gojo get turned into paste with a single attack, using foreign magic that she had never seen nor felt before, so much so she deems it a bastardization of what Magic should have been.
He was immensely powerful. At least, that was what she felt when that wretched form of Magic touched her senses. It was Cursed, completely and utterly. Dare she saw it was a bastardization of what Magic should've been?

Demons

     Warden Wrath

Warden Wrath

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wrath_render_2.png
"It shall be done, my liege. Anyone who harms those who serve you shall be punished by your command..."

Debut: Chapter 3/Episode 3: Control That Curse, Luz!

Warden Wrath is the Warden Of The Conformitorium and a minor antagonist in Jujutsu Kaisen 0.5: Gojo's New Student(s)

Titans

     King

King

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0e4avygdaok71.jpg
"I am not a pipsqueak! I am King! King Of Demons! How many times do I have to say that!"

Debut:Chapter 1/Episode 1: Who's That Weird Cursed Kid?

"It's cool. They seem like worthy servants." - King to Eda Clawthorne about Satoru Gojo and Luz Noceda upon their arrival at The Owl House

A pint-sized dog-monster that lives with Eda Clawthorne, that is, in reality, the only remaining member of a long critically endangered species known as Titans, King a minor supporting character in Jujutsu Kaisen 0.5: Gojo's New Student(s).
  • Bratty Half-Pint: In King's second-ever sentence spoken in this fanfic is, quite literally "And who are these peasants?" While King might not literally be a king, he seriously makes you think that he is one based on how he acts, when in reality King is merely just a child pretending to be something more than what he actually is.
  • Cartoon Creature: Gojo calls him a bipedal dog-like thing because that is the best way to describe King. He looks like a dog, has the skull of a dog but with horns, and has paws like a bear with the tail of a fox.
  • Constantly Curious: When it comes to Gojo and Luz, anyway. They're people who he's never even seen before, and they're living under his roof, so of course he's curious as to what they are, what they do, and why they do them. Coupled with the fact that he's a dumb little kid it makes sense for him to be as curious as he is.
  • Expy: Gojo comments that he looks like one of Megumi's Demon Dogs but only on a surface level.
    • Aside from the comparison to Megumi's Demon Dogs by Gojo in the story, outside of the story, his design is based on Cubone.
  • Like a Son to Me: It is heavily implied that Eda views King this way just as she does in Canon The Owl House.

Major Antagonists

     Emperor Belos| Philip Wittebane

Emperor Belos| Philip Wittebane

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/emperor_belos_1.png
"Fetch me Wrath, will you? I wish to speak to him."

Debut:Chapter 3/Episode 3: Control That Curse, Luz!

"Lilith... To what do I... Owe the pleasure...." - Emperor Belos| Philip Wittebane greeting Lilith Clawthorne at the beginning of their meeting.

The Emperor of the Boiling Ilses, Emperor Belos, aka Philip Wittebane, is the major Antagonist for Season 1 of Jujutsu Kaisen 0.5: Gojo's New Student(s)
  • Absolute Xenophobe: Belos/Philip utterly loathes the inhabitants of the Boiliing Isles. It hardly matters how loyal they are to him, he hates them all with equal measure. So much so, that he plans to Genocide them, and has been working on doing so for the last 400 years, just as he attempts to do in canon.
  • Bastard Bastard: It's clear as day that he's a step above your regular piece of shit villain, especially when his whole plan is to Genocide an entire group of people based solely on his religious beliefs. Though considering his upbringing in religious zealotry, it's not hard to see how he got to that point.
  • The Determinator: Despite his ailments, and despite his body failing him due to engraving his flesh with glyphs Belos is more than determined to make sure that his plan to wipe out all of Witch and Demonic-kind is seen through.
  • Glorious Leader: Everyone in the Emperor's Coven sees him as such, despite him only taking the position to further his goals. He takes advantage of everyone's preconceived idea of him and plays with it, which has earned him his continued stay as The Emperor of the Boiling Isles for as long as he's had.
  • King On His Death Bed: Belos/Philip is afflicted with a deadly illness, part of which has to do with engraving his body with glyphs as a means to increase his lifespan, which inadvertently made him sickly and ill fit to be a leader, while the other reason is currently unknown. He is dying, with only months left to live before his illness catches up to him and claims his life.
  • The Resenter: For as much as he hates Witches and Demons, he holds a special hatred for Jujutsu Sorcerers, namely those belonging to The Zen'in Clan, The Kamo Clan, and The Gojo Clan, as they were the ones who ended up causing himself and his brother to be turned into Orphans, killing his mother and father. Ever since then, he has grown to have a silent hatred for them. And now that a member of The Gojo Clan has appeared in The Boiling Isles, he is determined to have him either killed or locked away.
  • Soul Eating: It is heavily implied that the essence that Emperor Belos/Philip Wittebane absorbs are the souls of the Palismans he consumes.
