- The Atoner: He wants to make up for the bad things he has done in his past, but Samuel keeps forcing him to commit more evil acts. Edgar eventually manages to atone by helping to rescue the other carnies from Samuel.
- Ax Crazy: He appears to be this at first, but it quickly becomes clear that Samuel is forcing him to act like one.
