    Rocky
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rocky_1.png

Voiced by: Dylan Schombing
Species: Parasaurolophus

  • Big Brother Instinct: He becomes protective of an egg he and his friends find while playing. It’s implied that the egg may be related to him since it’s the same species as him.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: There are a few episodes where Rocky tries to help someone in need, but unfortunately, he just ends up making the problem worse.
  • Red Is Heroic: He has red scales and likes to see himself as a brave hero.
  • Running Gag: He has difficulty saying his species name.
  • Thrill Seeker: He absolutely loves going on adventures with his friends.

    Bill

Voiced by: Nicholas Holmes
Species: Brachiosaurus

  • Big Eater: He absolutely loves food. He has various hiding spots for any food he stored away, which he ate from while sleepwalking.
  • Blue Is Heroic: His scales are dark blue.
  • Informed Species: He doesn't look too much like a Brachiosaurus. The cube-shaped head makes him appear more like a Camarasaurus.
  • Loose Lips: In "Rockatastrophe", he accidentally reveals to T-Rex where he keeps his secret stash of moss.
  • Lovable Coward
  • Sleepwalking: One episode centers around him eating food in his sleep.

    Tiny

Voiced by: Áine Sunderland
Species: Triceratops

  • Cloudcuckoolander: In the episode "Because Triceratops", her brother Trey is trying to help her with her Triceratops Trial, but Tiny is more interested in dancing than training.
  • Genki Girl: She is one of the most exciteable girls in all of Cretacia.

    Mazu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mazu.png

Voiced by: Nahanni Mitchell
Species: Ankylosaurus

  • Informed Species: She is supposed to be an Ankylosaurus, but she looks more like a toad with a clubbed tail.
  • Smart Girl: She seems to be the most intelligent of the group.
  • Tough Armored Dinosaur: Downplayed. She prefers using her head, but can be tough when she needs to.

    Giganto
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/giganto.png

Voiced by: Vincent Tong
Species: Giganotosaurus

  • Anti-Hero: Everyone in Cretacia is scared of him, but he's mostly just doing his own thing.
  • Big Good: Well, sort of. Pretty much everyone in Cretacia is scared of him, but he doesn't harm any of them.
  • The Big Guy: As befitting a Giganotosaurus. He's one of the biggest and strongest dinosaurs in Cretacia.
  • The Dreaded: He is the most feared dinosaur in Cretacia.
  • Gentle Giant: He's eventually revealed to be this to the denizens of Cretacia, sans the villains. At one point the kids even spend a night inside his mouth for safety.
  • Large and in Charge: Though he normally seems to let things operate casually, he does seem to think this way. While not seen as a leader directly, he does take charge in protecting the valley such as averting a volcanic eruption.
  • Not Evil, Just Misunderstood: Since he’s the largest dinosaur in Cretacia, dinosaurs are afraid of him. The main kids realize through a series of interactions with him that he’s actually pretty nice. When he saw the lost egg, he gently picked up, placed it in a makeshift nest and laid down next to it.
  • Predators Are Mean: Averted. While scary, he never harms the kids or denizens of Cretacia.
  • The Quiet One: He talks very rarely, and when he does, it's usually very short sentences.
  • Secondary Character Title: The series is named after him, but it mainly focuses on the kids. Some episodes are about him while he just passes by in others.
  • Suddenly Voiced: Even though he usually communicates through grunts and roars, he surprises the 4 young dinos when in the Season 1 finale, he says "You're welcome!" to them when they thank him for bringing their stuff back to them.

Other Cretacian inhabitants

    Trey

Voiced by: Vincent Tong
Species: Triceratops
Tiny's older brother.
  • Big Brother Instinct: As Tiny's older brother, he cares deeply for her health and well-being.
  • Blue Is Heroic: His scales have more of a bluish tinge than his sister's.
  • Cool Big Bro: The four young dinos really look up to him, especially Tiny.

    Hegan
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hegan.png

Voiced by: Heather Doerksen
Species: Pteranodon
A Pteranodon who occasionally lets the 4 young dinosaurs ride on her back.
  • Animal Gender-Bender: She looks more like a male Pteranodon, being larger and having a long crest.
  • Captain Crash: She is quite clumsy when it comes to landing.
  • Childhood Friends: She was apparently Termy's childhood friend.
  • Flight: Since she's a Pteranodon, Hegan is quite good at flying. Landing, on the other hand, is a different story.
  • Giant Flyer: Being a Pteranodon, Hegan can give the 4 young dinosaurs a lift around Cretacia if they need it.
  • Shown Their Work: She has a covering of pycnofibres or fuzz like a real pterosaur.

    Archie

Voiced by: Adam Kirschner
Species: Compsognathus

  • Animals Not to Scale: While he is a lot smaller than most of the other characters, he is still a bit large for a Compsognathus.

    Marsh

Voiced by: Benjamin Jacobson
Species: Stegosaurus

    Ayati
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ayati_6.png

Voiced by: Joanne Willson
Species: Brachiosaurus

  • Adaptational Species Change: While she is officially a Brachiosaurus in the show, she is based on the Diplodocus from the original book.
  • Cool Old Lady: Ayati's one of the oldest and wisest dinosaurs in Cretacia.
  • Gentle Giant Sauropod: A giant brachiosaur who is a kindly old lady.
  • Informed Species: Zig-zagged. Official media says that Ayati is a Brachiosaurus, like Bill. But her different head shape compared to other adult Brachiosaurus seems to imply that she’s a Giraffatitan. To make it more confusing, she shares the same design as the original book's Diplodocus, which looked more like a brachiosaur.
  • Older and Wiser: She is one of the oldest inhabitants of Cretacia. In fact, the episode "Ayati's Big Birthday" reveals that she is about 200 years old.

A trio of friendly Icthyosaurus who live in the lake.

Antagonists

    Cror and Totor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cror_and_totor.png

Voiced by: Shannon Chan-Kent (Cror) & Samuel Vincent (Totor)
Species: Velociraptor
A pair of Velociraptor siblings who like to cause trouble around Cretacia.
  • Brother–Sister Team: A villainous example, as they both love to pick on the other dinosaurs in Cretacia.
  • Bumbling Henchmen Duo: They are a pair of goofy, simple-minded troublemakers.
  • Bumbling Sidekick: Totor, the more dimwitted of the duo, usually goes along with his sister's plans.
  • Co-Dragons: They both become Termy's most loyal servants in the Season 1 finale.
  • The Ditz: Totor is much more dim-witted than his older sister.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Even though they're both a pair of jerks, they do genuinely seem to care for each other, if the end of the episode "A Very Sticky Problem" is any indication.
Totor: (Hugging Cror) Sis! I was so worried!
Cror: Aw, what's the big deal? (beat) Actually, I was a little worried.
  • Fangs Are Evil: They both have some quite impressive fangs sticking out of their jaws.
  • Green and Mean: Cror has green scales and is the more cunning of the duo.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: They'll show their nicer sides every now and then, like the time they freaked out when they think they've hurt the kids with a boulder.
  • Raptor Attack: Well, obviously. They avert the usual stereotype of raptors being highly intelligent, however, with Totor being The Ditz.
  • Shown Their Work: While they are still too big and lack feathers, they at least have the long snouts and slender builds of the real Velociraptor.
  • Women Are Wiser: Cror, the female of the duo, is much smarter than her little brother.

    Termy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/termy.png

Voiced by: Jennifer Cameron
Species: Terminonatator
A villainous Terminonatator who resides in Cretacia's lake.

    T-Rex
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/t_rex.jpg

Species: Tyrannosaurus rex
A mean T. rex who likes to show off and prove that he's better than Giganto.

    Spino
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/spino.jpg

Species: Spinosaurus
A villainous Spinosaurus who terrorizes Cretacia.
  • Achilles' Heel: The Season 3 episode "Sleeping Spino" reveals that he can be easily blown over by strong winds due to the massive sail that he has on his back.
  • Behemoth Battle: He has many of those against Giganto, though they mostly consist of them roaring at each other.
  • Big Bad: Of the Season 2 finale. He shows up to cause havoc in Cretacia and traps Giganto in his own cave so that his reign of terror can continue unabated. He also tries to devour the kids at several points.
  • The Dreaded: Everyone in Cretacia is terrified of him, even Termy.
  • Evil Counterpart: Is this to Giganto. They are both massive dinosaurs who don't normally speak and they are both carnivores. The main difference between the 2 is that Giganto protects Cretacia whereas Spino wants to terrorize it.
  • Evil Is Bigger: He's even bigger than Giganto himself, and is the most dangerous villain of the show.
  • Evil Smells Bad: To the point that Rocky wonders in "Tiny Tells" what is worse between his scary teeth or his bad breath.
  • Giant Swimmer: He is revealed to be a pretty good swimmer in the Season 3 finale, much like the Spinosaurus must have been in real life.
  • Green and Mean: His scales are a very dark shade of green.
  • Knight of Cerebus: Unlike Termy in the Season 1 finale, Spino has absolutely no funny scenes.
  • Last Episode, New Character: He makes his debut in the Season 2 two-part finale.
  • Never Smile at a Crocodile: His snout heavily resembles one.
  • Savage Spinosaurs: He is a vicious Spinosaurus who loves to terrorize Cretacia, and he will let nothing stand in his way, not even Giganto.
  • Villain Decay: In his first few appearances, Spino was more than capable of challenging Giganto to a fight. In later episodes however, he tends to run away in fear as soon as Giganto shows up. That said, he does put up a good fight against Giganto in the Season 3 two-part finale, though.
  • Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: He's one of the greatest threats that Cretacia has ever seen.
  • The Voiceless: Unlike Giganto, who speaks very rarely, Spino never speaks at all. He only growls and roars.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He tries to devour the 4 young dinos at several points.
