Chieko Kimoto

No Ultimate Talent

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chi_8.png
Hiiiiii! I'm Chieko!!

She/her

Chieko is the sister to Chouya Kimoto and is a lot brighter and energetic than her brother. Due to her relation to him, she wound up as an agent for the unnamed organization the survivors for the previous game made.

  • Amateur Sleuth: She serves as this. Technically, she's "in training".

  • Anime Hair: Arguably more so than her brother's. She also has a swirl in the front as well as improbable curls and an ahoge.

  • Color Motif: Pink and red. Sounds familiar.

  • Expy: Of Chiaki Nanami. Both have names starting with Chi, have pinkish hair, and are Nice Girl characters.

  • Genki Girl: She's very loud and tends to draw out words.

  • Idiot Hair: Hers is very round-shaped.

  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red to Serina's blue.

  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: She comes across as very kind, and has a full head of seemingly natural pink hair.

  • Strong Family Resemblance: She and Chouya both have pink hair with curls and have red eyes.

  • V-Sign: Before being moved to Archive of Our Own, one of her sprites featured one.

    Serina Nakahara

We're going to be okay.

She/her

A timid girl who is a detective in training. She joined the agency as a way to jumpstart her career.

  • Amateur Sleuth: She's in training as well.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: It's heavily hinted at that something horrible happened in her past. It may have something to do with the scars on her hands. In the post-trial discussion of Chapter 4, she states that she killed 2 people, when we had only seen her kill Ricardo.
  • The Confidant: As the only person Chieko can trust with absolute certainty, this is a given.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Chieko's red.
  • Shrinking Violet: Comes off as this.

    Dolly

Dolly

Ultimate Comedian

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dolly.png
Hey! Hey! I'm Dolly!

They/toy

A very bright and over-the-top person whose talent matches their energy! Dolly is NA's best teenaged comedian, and they won't let you forget it!

  • Artificial Intelligence: They are revealed to be a copy of the original Dolly, and are instead an AI.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: They can be very absent-minded in serious discussions unless they're breaking the tension.
  • Genki Girl: Gender-flipped, as toy's non-binary, but toy is one of the most energetic students in the whole class!
  • Only One Name: They’ve cut ties with their biological family for unknown reasons, so they lack a last name.
  • V-Sign: Before being moved to Archive of Our Own, 2 of their sprites featured double peace signs.

    Mami Rodgers

Mami Rodgers

Ultimate Makeup Artist

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mami_5.png
You're in the same situation as all of us... except I don't know you.

Any pronouns

Mami seems to cut her sentences short and prefers not to be in the spotlight. They seem to try to be unbiased, but comes off as very biased in almost any argument.

  • Ambiguous Gender Identity: They’re fine with any pronouns.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Half of her hair is pink, like their eyes.
  • Killed Offscreen: The end of their execution, before being turned into lipstick.
  • Pinky Swear: During the conclusion of trial 3, they make AJ promise that no more murders will happen after their execution.
  • The Mole: It's revealed that she was the traitor in Chapter 3. How willing she was to do it is up in the air.

    Mari Gold

Mari Gold

Ultimate Baker

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/marigold.png
I live in the woods... and I bake. I don't know what you want to hear, sorry.

She/they

A sensible girl who lived in the forest all her life.

    Taylor Jones

Taylor Jones

Ultimate Lawyer

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/taylor_7.png
I don't care what a potential mass kidnapper thinks of me. Begone.

She/they

An uptight lawyer who presses a little too hard for answers.

  • Ambiguous Gender Identity: Uses she/they pronouns.

  • And Now for Someone Completely Different: She acts as the protagonist towards the end of Chapter 4's Daily Life and remains so until the post-trial.

  • Expy: Of Rei Mekaru from Danganronpa Another. Both are distrustful and downright rude people with talents usually held by adults. They both also wear suits with long skirts.

  • Idiot Hair: Has a piece of hair sticking up where her hair is tied up.

  • Prim and Proper Bun: It's a near-perfect bun if it weren't for the single piece sticking out.

  • The Stoic: Does not display any emotion, including fear. Even when the killing game was announced, they remained completely calm.

    Anne "AJ" Johnson

AJ

Ultimate Race Car Driver

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aj_57.png
Sometimes I feel like I'm more of a mechanic than a race car driver... jeez...

She/her

An adrenaline junkie who keeps a calm demeanor unless she's on the track.

  • Passionate Sports Girl: She loves race car driving, which is considered a sport.

  • Pinky Swear: Does this with Mami at the end of trial 3, promising her that no more murders will occur.

  • Thrill Seeker: She only really gets this from racing, but she searches for thrills all the time.

  • Wrench Wench: She likes working on her race car.

    Yumi Sakai

Yumi Sakai

Ultimate Basketball Player

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yumi_6.png
You better not mess up Yumi's title.

Yumi

Yumi is the most passionate basketball player, even willing to sacrifice Yumi's health to be the very best. Surprisingly, Yumi isn't any more energetic than some of the less active members of Yumi's class.

  • Ambiguous Gender Identity: Yumi’s only pronouns are Yumi.

  • Blood from the Mouth: Yumi's body features this, still dripping. It's later revealed to not even be Yumi's blood, rather blood from a pack.

  • Expy: Of Aoi Asahina. Both have similar "bangs" (complete with hair clips), are Ambiguously Brown sports girls, and are positive influences on the class.

  • Frame-Up: Yumi was framed as the mastermind to Anthony to push him to kill someone. It was revealed to be fake, as Yumi only speaks and writes in the third person, which the notes were not written in.

  • Passionate Sports Girl: Yumi has a passion for basketball and basketball only, to the point of nearly ruining Yumi's health because of it.

  • Third-Person Person: In both speaking and writing. It later comes to prove Yumi’s been framed as the mastermind, as the notes that supposedly proved this, and were supposedly written by Yumi, aren’t in third person.

    Ricardo Desoto

Ricardo Desoto

Ultimate Toymaker

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ricardodesoto.png
The only questions I ask are "Are you okay" so I don't pressure others too much.

He/they

A nice guy whose actions are nothing short of trying his best.

  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: It is revealed that they weren't the real Ricardo, but rather an AI of him, in Chapter 5. The AI had gone against its original purposes to attempt to free itself.

  • Ambiguous Gender Identity: Uses he/they pronouns.

  • Breaking Old Trends: So far, they are the first to get away with murder without getting executed. They remain in the game, however, as someone else killed first.

  • Dies Wide Open: He looked pissed, too.

  • Jerkass: Becomes this in Chapter 3. The cause seems to be grief.

  • Nice Guy: Is only looking out for others' wellbeing. Until Chapter 3.

    Jared Richardson

Jared Richardson

Ultimate Paleontologist

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jaredrichardson.png
I didn't expect to see Chi here...

He/him

An old friend of Chieko's... brother. He's a self-proclaimed "prettyboy".

    Noah Greene

Noah Greene

Ultimate Cartographer

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/noahgreene.png
I made more photocopies of the map... are you sure you do not want it?

Any pronouns (including neo)

    Braeden Mooney

Braeden Mooney

Ultimate Surfer

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ihatehim.png
He/him

It's, like, not creepy since she's the same age as me.
An oddly creepy surfer bro who's best friends with Shawn.

  • Dumb Blonde: A rarer male version. He mistook chocolate chips... for fish. And that's just one example.
  • Killed Offscreen: It's described that all that was seen after he was pulled underwater was his blood.
  • Like Is, Like, a Comma: He uses "like" a lot in his words, sometimes cluttering the phrases.
  • Surfer Dude: His talent and he falls directly into the stereotypes.

    Shawn Meyers

Shawn Meyers

Ultimate Fisherman

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shawn_88.png
Yeah, what he said.

He/him

He seems to just go along with whatever Braeden does, to be honest. Who knows if he has a personality not built off of Braeden.

  • Artificial Intelligence: In the final trial, it's revealed that he is a copy of the real Shawn as an AI.
  • Iconic Item: His fishing rod. He is the SHSL Fisherman, after all.
  • Tragic Bromance: Braeden was executed in Chapter 1, despite all Shawn did to impress him. It's also unknown if Braeden was lying at the end of the trial about their relationship, which adds to Shawn's pain.
  • Youthful Freckles: Features these across his nose.

    Anthony Rosales

Anthony Rosales

Ultimate Florist

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1ehbvokpqzgvyaegcdpus1u9yplvlvaepkzrnhycrnrpxon3vmpcyjymguum.png
Oh, the troubles a boywitch must face...

He/him

A witch, a florist... who knows. He has a very whimsical appearance, that's for sure!

  • Berserk Button: Implying magic isn't real and/or claiming witch and wizard are gendered terms for the same thing.
  • Callback: His execution is a callback to Trigger Happy Havoc's third, with a few additions.
  • Insistent Terminology: He likes to be called a "witch" rather than a "wizard".
  • Off with Her Head!: His execution ends with his head being cut off.

    Kain Menza

Kain Menza

Ultimate Mime

I don't think it's right to blindly trust anyone.

He/they/boo

A very dislikeable person. He's stubborn in a bad way, not changing his opinion even when presented with evidence.

  • Big Bad: They are revealed to be the mastermind in Chapter 5.
  • Everyone Hates Mimes: When they suggested putting on a routine, everyone did not agree and considered banning him from the party in case he performed anyway.
  • The Corrupter: He was always subtly pushing blame away from himself as the mastermind the whole time while maintaining the state of despair.
  • Your Makeup Is Running: He looks like he's wearing very, very runny eye makeup. It's never stated if he cries often or if it's for aesthetics.
