A sequel to Danganronpa The Engine. Danganronpa Revengine is an Archive of Our Own Fanganronpa written and illustrated by salup_ once again. It can be read here.
Danganronpa: Revengine contains examples of:
- Back for the Finale: During the fifth trial, the survivors of the first in the series come back to help the other survivors.
- Breaking Old Trends:
- This time, the cast size is relatively normal (at 15) instead of 8.
- The cast does not include an Ultimate with a ??? talent or a student with a Non-Standard Character Design.
- The Chapter 3 murders have two separate killers. Only one gets executed.
- Deadly Game: It's another Danganronpa fan project.
- Deadly Graduation: Another given for a Fangan.
- Dying Clue: Mari left an intentionally vague clue pertaining to their killer before dying.
- Foregone Conclusion: The story of Danganronpa The Engine is frequently talked about within Revengine, due to the protagonist literally being one of the victim's sister. As such, every case and survivor from Engine is spoiled.
- Mythology Gag:
- In Chapter 2, Chieko makes a comment about how the library seems like a place a "blond, rich guy would hang out in in his free time."
- In Chapter 3, Dolly mentions that an Ultimate Chef, Confectioner, or Maid would be nice.
- Public Execution: A staple for the franchise.
- Recurring Element:
- Chieko is the sister of a past participant, and is the protagonist.
- Serina is the slow/lethargic support character, like Nanami.
- Chieko is the protagonist and she has Idiot Hair.
- Yumi is an Ambiguously Brown girl with a sports talent.
- Shout-Out:
- Taylor's "rebuttal" sprite is her pointing and shouting "Objection!". Additionally, she also says "Hold it!" in trial 3 for a mini-rebuttal.
- One of the options in trial 2 for an "answer" is "Noah Vented."
- You Wake Up in a Room: Chieko wakes up in a Hope's Peak NA classroom.
