Six Devils

A group of six people widely known as experts of their respective fields. They were the closest to Fabian and the most powerful of his followers, and were key figures responsible for Emperor Altair II's death during the Day of the Eclipse. They became fugitives of the Karian Empire since then, wandering the land for their own goals.

In General

Bad Powers, Good People: Alec's monstrous strength, Angelica's dark mana-pouring sword, Celia's status as a cursed witch and Nartas's cursed arm sound like a setup for bad things to happen, but all of them ensure they're used for the good of the world.
Demonization: The Six Devils were already named so by people before the Day of the Eclipse. Now along with Fabian, they're reviled by the Karian Empire for causing the Emperor's death and later (as the Empire claims) assassinating Crown Prince Adel.
The Dreaded: No thanks to the Empire's propaganda, their hidden identities sparking public imagination, or that there's plenty of truth to be told about their abilities in battle.
The Exile: About half of them had secluded themselves from the world following the Day of the Eclipse, further adding intrigue into their profile. The other 3 are still active and doing their own thing, though they still avoid needless attention and conflict to themselves.
Godzilla Threshold: Every time the Captain or Adel wind up facing a calamity that can potentially destroy the world, the Six Devils will typically be there to give the support they both need to persevere. Sadly this doesn't translate well to gameplay.
Hero with Bad Publicity: Because of their part of helping Fabian kill Emperor Altair II and stopping him from sacrificing his son and the continent, the Six Devils aren't exactly popular with the majority of the populace despite all of them being heroic and good in nature. They even have bounties on their heads for any mercenary dumb enough to try.
The Most Wanted: Each Devil has a huge bounty, albeit lacking in description given that they're not as well-known as Fabian or lingered in the limelight during the assault on the Emperor's palace.

Alec

"The Destroyer"—a pirate who made a name for himself as an uncontested warrior of the seas until he met Aira and retired from the life.

Always Someone Better: Alec was a victim of this back when he didn't have full control over his powers of destruction, being unable to take down his then mentor Kayan in battle.
Attractive Bent-Gender: A result of the gods in the past having cursed him for his vicious pirate ways until he repented for it. Either way, his feminine version is scantily clad, busty and gorgeous.
Big Damn Heroes: Alec comes to Adel's aid twice during the Dawn of a new Day campaign, taking down the commander of the Black Lions during their rescue of the Dark Shamans and saving Adel's entourage from Valze though Refithea states that his power would've wasted everybody if she didn't protect them.
BFS: Wields a greatsword taller than he is and sports a blade that overtakes him in width.
The Dreaded: "The Destroyer", having made a name for himself as pirate without equal in fighting skill.
Walking Shirtless Scene: His default appearance has his shirt unbuttoned to show off his abs, while his ascension takes it all off. His swimsuit skin in particular lays his entire top bare in full muscle-over-muscle glory.
World's Strongest Man: Strongest human at least. No other human being can match the sheer destructive power that Alec possesses, making him invaluable to Fabian's cause.

Celia

"The Wicked"—a witch descended from the infamous witch Maedeah, who was believed to have been cursed and thus forcing Celia to lead a life being shunned by people until she met Fabian. After fighting for Fabian during the Day of the Eclipse, she roams the land in search of answers to the mysteries behind the Karian Empire.

Dark Is Not Evil: Celia is a human witch who can use the cursed Terra. She becomes a member of Fabian's forces to use that power for the sake of humanity.
Undying Loyalty: To Fabian de Valis. Out of the Six Devils, Celia one of the few who doesn't put herself into exile following the Day of the Eclipse in order to continue investigating the Empire's darkness after Fabian's death.

Granhildr

"The Void"—devoted one-winged Valkyrie and servant to Eda, she was commanded by her mistress to aid Fabian during the Day of the Eclipse, then returned to Eda's side afterwards.

Clipped-Wing Angel: Literally; she lost her wing in the battle against Iselok and was looked down on by other Valkyries for it since then. It doesn't stop her from being an effective fighter in battle though, let alone stymie her devotion to Eda.
Draw Aggro: Granhildr's skill draws all enemy attacks towards herself.
Not in This for Your Revolution: Granhildr is the only member of the Six Devils who isn't loyal to Fabian and fighting on his behalf, but is tasked into doing so by her true master Eda into doing so.
Out of Focus: Receives the least amount of backstory and spotlight out of the Six Devils, who have become a constant presence helping both the Captain and Adel's mercenary armies in resolving the aftermath of the Day of the Eclipse. This is justified due to Granhildr returning to her true duty as Eda's bodyguard. She finally returns in Part 3: Sky Island as Euridna's bodyguard, with her personality being more fleshed out in her interactions with Angelica and the Sky Island coalition.
The Sixth Ranger: Granhildr joins Fabian's rebellion under Eda's orders to prevent a wide-spread genocide of humanity by Altair II.
Undying Loyalty: To the demi-goddess that she serves, Eda. Granhildr's presence as Euridna's guard makes the Sky Island mercenaries doubt that Euridna and Eda are separate individuals.

Nartas

"The Misfortunate"—this former young genius magician was cursed due to a failed experiment that took the lives of his family and froze his body's passage of time. After secluding himself for centuries, then resurfacing to help Fabian, he now watches the land for more threats with his cursed, but destructive right arm.

Chuunibyou: He's got elements of this despite being an actually deadly magician, most damning of all being his demonically cursed arm and warnings to everyone about how he might lose control over it.
Dark and Troubled Past: Nartas was experimenting on Ancient Magic alongside a demon from Ghenar called Rachel. Rachel implanted a forbidden technique into his arm which Nartas promptly lost control over and annihilated his family in the process. Feeling betrayed and disgusted at himself, Nartas disappeared from the human eye with the power he foolishly received from Rachel. Rachel on the other hand didn't know that the human Nartas couldn't withstand the power she gave him and is hoping to meet the Misfortunate once more to free him from her curse.
Dark Is Not Evil: Nartas' powers are demonic in nature yet Nartas is a noble soul who would unleash that power on anything threatening the peace of the land.
Older Than They Look: Despite looking like a teenage boy, Nartas' age is frozen in time, making it so that despite being human he will always look younger than he actually is because of his mishandling of Ancient Magic.

Refithea

"The Gluttonous"—the princess of a Fairy kingdom, who fled it for the human realm ever since a monster destroyed it. She had spent most of her immortal life in loneliness (besides Glutti) and pranking people until she met Fabian, who promised her his son's hand in marriage to exchange for her help. Resolving herself to become queen, she still waits for the Captain to this day.

Arranged Marriage: It turns out that when Fabian talked to the fairy, he promised to have his son marry her once he's older. The Captain, who is that son, is not at all pleased to find this out from her and makes up excuses to give his answer later.
Immortal Immaturity: For someone who's lived over two centuries, her appearance and mannerisms are hardly anything mature.
Last of Her Kind: After some monster went and layed waste to the Fairy Kingdom she resides in, Refithea becomes the only known fairy who had survived the purge and is hoping to rebuild the Fairy Kingdom and become the new queen.
Support Party Member: The sole supporter of the Six Devils, Refithea specializes in applying powerful buffs to her comrades to turn them from strong to straight up cracked in an instant.

Dominus Octo

Eight demons of the Night World who received the power of the night. Led by Velfern, they plot in secret to take the surface world.

In General

Boss Battle: The Captain and Adel are required to deal with half of the Dominus Octo during their adventures, with the Captain taking on Seto, Lucius, Levia and Beliath during their invasion of Night World to save Elin while Adel fights Asmode, Mamonir, Valze and Velfern to prevent the invasion of the demons onto the surface world.
The Dreaded: During the Demon War centuries ago, though not impossible to defeat, each Octo was a living force of nature that humanity's forces barely won against at the time, even without terra (dark mana) strengthening them on the surface. This still holds true for the current generation.
Group-Identifying Feature: A demon who becomes a Dominus Octo receives the "power of the night", granting them immense power, but each Octo has an eyepatch over one of their eyes acting as their seal.
Evil Counterpart:
- To the Six Devils in a way, which is ironic since Dominus Octo are all made up of actual demons as opposed to the non-demonic Devils.
- They also wind up being this to the Templars, 7 swordsmen lead by the Hero King Iselok who opposed their predecessors in the second war of magic.
Legacy Character: The current iteration of the Dominus Octo are taking the place of their predecessors, most who perished during the second war of magic. Not that it makes them any less dangerous.
Meaningful Name: "Dominus" is Latin for "master", "lord", or literally "dominant", while "Octo" is a prefix for "eight". So, their group name can be read as "Eight Dominants", which is fitting given that each member is a ruler (or the most influential) of their home world.
Unwitting Pawn: The Dominus Octo are being manipulated by Frellea into escaping the Night World and cause another global conflict that will ensure that both humans and demons wind up killing one another.

The leader of the Dominus Octo. Formerly the vampire king of Toire, and even formerly human. He wishes to free the Octos from the Night World. Despite his powerful magic, he prefers to appear as a little boy to conserve energy.

Bishōnen: Velfern is a total stud in his fully evolved form, being completely handsome and elegant.
Older Than They Look: Is over 600 years old, looks about 12. Even when he releases the seal over his powers and resumes his true form, Velfern looks no older than 20.
Pragmatic Villainy: Velfern assists the Captain in finding and freeing Elin, not out of the kindness of his heart mind, but because he needs Angelica and her Evil Sword Jormunn outside of the Night World so that she has another chance at creating a resonance and opening the ancient seal again. Her and the Captain's presence in the Night World is complicating his plans.
The Leader: Velfern is the head of the Dominus Octo and the king of Toire.

Personaz

The Personaz are nameless individuals who lack an emotion and were granted mystical powers from the remains of the Liberators to be free from the chains of emptiness that bind them. Each member has an ambition they want to fulfill to fill the void in their hearts and their actions are bound to bring back the Liberator who granted them their power in the first place. They are the primary antagonists of the Sky Island campaign.

In General

Arc Villain: Of the Sky Island Campaign, collaborating with Grand Duke Richard to locate the God's Cradle in the lost southern continent and obstructing the Captain, Adel and Spatti to get both the Cradlefinder and Cecilia.
