General
- Battle Couple: Many of the new X-Men are already in relationships with one another prior to their empowerment.
- Mutants: All of the X-Men are these however Professor X and Logan are natural born mutants while the others were turned into ones by an outside force.
- Superhero Origin: The new X-Men gained their powers after being caught in a Mass Super-Empowering Event caused by Wanda Maximoff.
Senior Members
Professor X
- Big Good: He's the leading head of the X-Men and headmaster of the Xavier Institute.
- "Not So Different" Remark: Many people, including Logan bring this up, that Charles is no better than Magneto when it came to do whatever it takes to ensure Mutant survival.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Logan makes it clear he's not pleased that Charles has taken it the 16 teens. He also reveals many of the old X-Men are still bitter about his other actions, including how he handled Jean Grey.
Wolverine
- Drill Sergeant Nasty: Logan has the teens be put through intense training to get them able to master their powers.
- Papa Wolf: Despite his gruff attitude, Logan cares for his new charges and will protect them from any harm, including from Professor X.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Logan leaves the group for a bit after an intense argument with Charles. He calms down and returns to the manor to apologize.
- Unstoppable Rage: Wolverine undergoes this and nearly kills Sabretooth to protect Junichi and Yukana.
Recruits
Ryuji Takasu
- Berserk Button: Ryuji shows Wolverine that he can be quite vicious like his girlfriend after the man hurts her.
- Playing with Fire: Ryuji acquired Sunfire's powers, giving him the ability to shoot flames and absorbed them.
- Supreme Chef: Ryuji is an excellent cook back in Toradora! so it makes sense he becomes the school's main cook.
Taiga Aisaka
- Blood Knight: Taiga has a penchant for violence hence why she's happy to have Mutant powers. She later enjoys the sparring match she had with Logan.
- Laser Blade: Taiga acquired Psylocke's power, granting her the ability to conjure energy blades.
- Violently Protective Girlfriend: Harming Ryuji will be the last thing Taiga will let you ever make.
Naoto Hachiouji
- Cowardly Lion: Naoto is a jittery mess but when the time is right, he will jump head first into action. He not only willingly helps evacuating people out of the burning building but he also stays behind with Ryuji and Jiro to ensure he can help them escape.
- Intangibility: Naoto acquired Shadowcat's ability which he used to save himself and Nagatoro from falling to their deaths.
Hayase Nagatoro
- A-Cup Angst: Like in her series, Nagatoro hates being compared to more buxom women. She didn't like the comment Junichi makes about her figure and readies a fork right near his head.
- Teleportation: Nagatoro acquired Nightcrawler's ability to teleport.
Junichiro Kubota
- Bare-Fisted Monk: In his series, Jun became an expert in karate, having trained in Tomo's father's Dojo. Logan assigned him along with Tomo to be hand-to-hand combat instructors for the rest of their fellow students.
- Handy Feet: Jun's feet mutated to prehensile ones as a result of having Beast's powers.
- I Regret Nothing: Surprisingly, Jun of all people is the first to defend his and his friends' choice in helping in rescuing people from the burning building.
Tomo Aizawa
- Bare-Fisted Monk: In her series, Tomo was already a master in karate thanks to her father training her in the family Dojo. Logan assigned him alongside Jun to be hand-to-hand combat instructors for the rest of their fellow students.
- Extra-ore-dinary: Tomo acquired Colossus's ability to morph into a metal form.
Sakuta Azusagawa
- Seen It All: Sakuta is hardly fazed that he turned into a Mutant due to his experiences with the Adolescence Syndromes.
- Super-Speed: Sakuta acquired Quicksilver's ability.
Mai Sakurajima
- Mind over Matter: Mai acquired Emma Frost's telepathy.
- Seen It All: Sakuta is hardly fazed that he turned into a Mutant due to his experiences with the Adolescence Syndromes.
JirÅ Yakuin
- Human Snowman: Jiro starts in a snowy form which is stated to be the earlier form. Sakuta likens it to be Frosty the Snowman.
- An Ice Person: Jiro acquired Iceman's powers.
- Mundane Utility: Practically, everyone in the X-Men asks Jiro to use his powers to cool their drinks and ice cream.
Akari Watanabe
- Super Costume Clothier: Akari elects to be this and makes the costumes his fellow students can use in action.
- Weather Manipulation: Akari acquired Storm's ability to control the weather.
Takumi Usui
- Death Dealer: Logan taught Usui in using cards like his predecessor had done.
- Having a Blast: Usui acquired Gambit's ability to turn objects into explosives.
Misaki Ayuzawa
- Blessed with Suck: Misaki now deeply regrets of not appreciating all the times Usui touch her following the acquiring of Rogue's powers as she now is unable to touch anyone at all.
- Energy Absorption: Misaki acquired Rogue's ability to absorb the powers and memories of others.
Junichi Hashiba
- Skewed Priorities: Thinking he's dead, Junichi wondered if there are buxom angels in Heaven.
- Winged Humanoid: Junichi acquired Angel's wings.
Yukana Yame
- Hand Blast: Yukana acquired Jubilee's power to shoot pyrotechnic energy plasmoids.
Izumi Miyamura
- Eye Beams: Izumi has Cyclop's ability to shoot lasers from his eyes.
- The Leader: Miyamura has become this amongst the new Mutants as he perfectly coordinates with them and assigns them to the appropriate tasks.
- Superpower Disability: Izumi may have gained Cyclop's powers but he also gained his inability to control them which is first established when Izumi opened his eyes at the hospital and the beams cut parts of the building.
Kyouko Hori
- Foil: To Jean Grey as they both have psychic abilities. Charles point out however that Jean was already quite unstable by the time he found her while Hori had lived a happy life.
- Mind over Matter: Hori acquired Jean Grey's telepathy.
