MLLSD Chapter 4: From Saunders With Love

Yukari recaps the situation; she says that the tankery team (represented by two anglerfish mascots in swimsuits), but the job was finished by the morals committee (an anglerfish with Sodoko's haircut looking over a throng of anglerfish), and "a suspicious American arrived."

Leopon Team joins the others, and Nakajima tells Yukari that they found Alisa suspicious, so they decided to take her along (one has to wonder why they didn't lure her into a place in which she couldn't escape, and force her to tell them who she is or why she's there, unless they hoped to observe her and report back).

Some panels without dialogue follow.

  • Yukari, with scuba gear, plays in the pool with Anglerfish Team, sans...
  • ...Mako, who is sleeping with (and on top of) Anteater Team
  • Oryou runs across the water while Saemonza swims
  • Rabbit and Duck Team play.
  • Caesar relaxes on a towel, while Erwin has changed to her Afrika Korps swimsuit.

Alisa, disappointed that they're just playing, decides to continue her investigation as all of the student council realizes she is a spy. But Anzu decides to move on to the "game," a cavalry battle. The first match pits Duck Team against Rabbit Team, with the latter understandably intimidated by the former's guts and athletic ability. Miho is told to sing something fitting, but Saori tells her not to worry about it.

Duck Team tosses Noriko in the air, who steals Azusa's bra instead of her headband, resulting in Duck Team being disqualified for foul play, and Rabbit Team being "beyond recovery."

As Duck Team laments being labeled "muscleheads," Alisa notes how they pushed the Type 89 beyond its specifications, and how the M3 also "has leeway." Alisa then writes off the Anteater Team as out of the game, and believes Hippo Team is the greatest threat. Contrary to her expectations, Saemonza, clad in Samurai armor, is too heavy for her colleagues to support, and they collapse, resulting in victory for Leopon Team.

Alisa turns their attention to Anglerfish team, which has made the mistake of Mako, whose agoraphobia causes her trouble, even when she's half asleep. Their opponents, Mallard Team plus one unnamed disciplinary committee member, try to take advantage of this, but Miho's orders enable Mako to snatch the headband off Sodoko, resulting in their victory.

With Hippo, Mallard and Rabbit eliminated, Duck disqualified, and Anteater not paticipating, the final match comes down to a three-way match between Anglerfish, Leopon and Turtle teams (it does seem overly convenient that the student council gets a bye). Since Turtle doesn't have enough members, Yuzu and Momo strip off Alisa's clothing except for her glasses and nose disguise.

Anzu turns Alisa by kicking her shoulder, like tank crews do, not realizing that Alisa knows the method. Leopon Team proposes that they and Anglerfish Team take down the student council first, and Miho accepts; one has to wonder what sort of approval ratings the student council has. Anglerfish and Leopon splash Turtle in the face, removing their visibility, while Mako tries to strike up a conversation with Sodoko, who's in no mood for it.

The attack removes Alisa's disguise, and she becomes terrified as she imagines the others descending on her to attack. In reality, she is bopped on the head and tied up, as she grouses about PO Ws. Kay and Naomi, who seem to have showed up by now, deny knowing Alisa, even though Naomi claims to have a lot of girlfriends.

This time, the 4komas are after the manga segment.

As someone (Yukari?) prods a tied up Alisa with a stick in the background, Azusa points out that the water is salty, and Yuzu says they mixed it with seawater to save on the budget, with Anzu saying it's like a coastal hotel.

Sodoko performs an "underwater clone technique" on Mako by submerging and having one of her colleagues surface with her head, causing Mako to freak out.

Karina tries out Oryou's water walking shoes, but ends up upside-down, submerged below the pool and prompting a rescue.

Nekota, having evidently gotten acclimatized to the sun, surfaces from the pool, and is glad that Rabbit Team got her reference to a monster movie.

Karina, Yuuki and Aya get on a floatable, and Nakajima and Tsuchiya install a propeller on it. But when it rockets forward and crashes into the fence, Hoshino tells them to check the output.

Akebi gets out of the pool, and Kay asks if she's from Saunders. Kay, noticing Akebi's height, breasts and hair color, couldn't tell the difference, and Anzu points out that Kay is Japanese, even if she doesn't look it.

Naomi challenges Hana to a squirt gun duel, and while she is hesitant, Naomi squirts her until she returns fire.

Kay thanks Miho for her invitation, saying that it's a change of pace from Saunders, in which every house has a pool or jacuzzi, outraging Momo with her boasting. Kay says there's a garden where they can barbecue, which Momo says they can do, even if Sodoko insists otherwise. Kay finishes by saying that there's paranormal activities, causing the Oarai listeners to react in shock.

Kay leaves Miho with a kiss on the cheek, inciting Yukari's jealousy and causing Anzu to say it's like 90210.

Next Installment: The action shifts to St. Gloriana
