Comments: This is so much an AU without ninjas and with a borderline misanthropic homeless Sakura that it might be original work instead of fanfiction. It's recommended simply because it's just that awesome. At it's a core this is a Rags To Riches and Coming Of Age story. A warning is in order as Tenten is killed of early on - however this is handled with great sincerity, that it's no where near a cheap plot point. The Naruto/Sasuke slash serves as backdrop/mirror to Sakura's developing feelings and isn't central, so readers weary of slash might don't need to worry. Also Zephyras takes great care to research the real world Japanese setting, which is interesting in it's own right.
