I remember really, really liking this series as a kid, and I still do, but... Howard is easily the worst character in the show. His jerkassery is made even worse by the fact that whenever Randy tries anything, the universe conspires to screw him over while Howard repeatedly endangers the lives of citizens because Randy isn't hanging out with him enough or treating him nicely enough. Maybe it's a case of them being great buddies off screen, but that doesn't matter if he's completely insufferable most of the time. However, good animations, cool monster designs, nice simple plot that isn't idiotically simple, and the fight scenes are really great. Does suffer from some pretty crappy "Out of order" episodes in the first season, which is very egregious considering the arcs are only 1-2 episodes long usually. Unironically would have been improved if all the Howard stuff was majorly cut down in favor of adding more time and budget to the fight scenes, or even romance subplot stuff.
