I didn't manage to finish the story because it is just so full of fanfic clichés, character inconsistencies and thing that just make no sense.
Despite taking place after Go F, Harry is initially not concerned with Voldemort or Cedric's death, not thinking about them at all during the holidays, Harry's relationship with Sirius is virtually non-existent, Remus is suddenly able to be a professor again, and Snape gets some Draco in Leather Pants treatment.
The Dursley's abuse is taken Up to Eleven, especially Vernon's, who's not happy to get rid of Harry, but is instead suddenly a psychopath obsessed with tormenting Harry. There is an OC muggle family Harry is around for a few weeks and inexplicably feels so close to them that he prefers to spend his christmas holiday with them instead of the Weasleys, as usual. Harry's connection to the family would maybe make some sense if any members of the family had a distinct character, but they're just blank slates whose only character traits seems to be that they're willing to help Harry and take care of him. People also keep making decisions that make no sense (like Dumbledore sending Harry to the Durselys because Voldemort attacks Hogwarts).Then there's the fact that, inexplicably, cancer boosts Harry's magic, the statute of secrecy is much more lax, and that child services apparently wait for weeks to come around after they are called.
Would not recommend to anyone who wants to read a well-crafted, coherent fic.
