Action Tropes: played straight and for great fun

Mission Impossible has been a great series of films. There's no doubt that they pretty much lead the pack for high-budget action franchises. (I'm still holding out hope that more Mad Max sequels are coming though)

Fallout does not disappoint. You get everything Mission Impossible is known for: crazy stunts, amazing locales, well-choreographed action, stunning setpieces, deceit, deception, betrayal, and YOUR MISSION SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT is to crash some cars and run really fast while trying to save the world.

Ok, that may have sounded silly, but if you want to look at MI:Fallout logically and methodically, it is pretty silly. Characters make some silly decisions in service to more action. The villains do illogical things because It's Personalâ„¢. Yeah, these are somewhat cliche action tropes. But they're all done well. It's fun and enjoyable the whole time. Oh yeah, there's even a romance subplot thrown in, and it doesn't suck! It enhances the action instead of dragging it down!

This just goes to show that using "overused" or "cliche" tropes doesn't make a movie bad. You just need to know how to use them, and really understand the movie's purpose. MI:F is here to give us action and Tom Cruise doing crazy things in crazy places, and it delivers.
