Say his name aloud and remember him always.

My second grade teacher had all of Patricia Polacco's books. We loved them. Every Tuesday at reading time, the kid who's turn it was to choose would ask for one of her books, until she told us that there were none left. So when it was my turn to pick, I was surprised and delighted to find Pink and Say. I asked her to read it, but she said "No. If I read that I'll cry." I was persistent, and eventually she agreed to read it. By the time she finished the last page, she was so choked up she could barely go on, and all of our faces were wet with tears. That was over a decade ago, but I still remember it—and I think I always will.
