Good Fun

Wander Over Yonder is a very fun series. It's very reminiscent of classic cartoon antics, the plucky hero getting into humorous misadventures but always getting out okay in the end.

The first season runs almost entirely on this formula. Bu cartoons have changed quite a bit since the era Wander Over Yonder takes its cues from. Unlike the olden days, lot of people these days start watching a cartoon expecting an intricate plot driven story filled with emotional character arcs and drama. If you come into Wander Over Yonder with that the only thing on your mind, you might not like season 1. But if you come in expecting a fun cartoon, you will.

Season 2 is where the Myth Arc picks up, if that's the kind of thing your looking for. The cartoony antics still continue, and while getting more serious the show doesn't lose its classic fun and charm.

All of the above is intentional on the part of the show's creator. And it's done very well.

All in all, if you don't come into this show with the Nirvana fallacy that you're going to encounter the most intricate, emotional plot driven cartoon you've ever seen, and instead expect a funny, entertaining cartoon, then you'll enjoy Wander Over Yonder. You'll be pleasantly surprised that a classic, fun cartoon can still stack up in today's age.
