Love It or Hate It? It received an "only in-universe only" disclaimer, but is the closer thing to their description.

Perhaps, but that seems too... polar. I myself would be in a third category I'd describe as "yeah, there are some major flaws that make it hard to rea- did they just fry him with radar!? Awesome!"

go look through the Bad Writing tropes. I'm sure you'll find some that fit.
ETA: Fighteer has stepped in and told people not to add the Your Milage May Vary entry back on Ask The Tropers.
Edited by TheOneWhoTropes Keeper of The Celestial Flame
After lots (and lots) of trial and error, the YMMV entry got pared down and cleaned up, and partly spun off to another trope but there's still no specific trope that fits "some people have issues with it, some of which are real, but other people ignore those issues and like it" better than the supertrope itself. I like rules. Rules are important. But one thing I've learned in life is that very few rules should be applied absolutely, and until someone enters with a more specific trope that covers this, it's still important and valid audience reaction info and shouldn't be deleted out of pedantry. There's only 44 changes recorded since the pages inception, so please check out the progress of this issue in the history.
