I originally put it in YMMV because it was mentioned that it fit better in that section than in her character folder.
That said, I concur with 742mph. It's an interpretation that has a fair amount of fans agreeing with it even if its not a fandom wide consensus.
They can leave it, but they should change it so that it's not an "ambiguously bi" entry in disguise.
Edited by LuisdalasI saw the edit you made about half an hour ago, Luisdalas, and I don't think it was warranted. If we're not allowed to discuss the issue of interpreting Ruby's sexual orientation in general on the non-YMMV trope pages, and we're not allowed to discuss it on the YMMV page, where are we allowed to discuss it?
Just make it different than an ambiguously bi/gay entry.
Edited by LuisdalasIt already was different from an Ambiguously Bi entry before you edited it, because it explicitly contextualized the issue in terms of fan interpretation, befitting a YMMV entry.
Since no one else has posted in this thread in a bit, I've gone ahead and made an edit that will hopefully be acceptable to everyone.
I saw some people on Twitter compare Oshi no Ko to Penguindrum and Kana from the former to Ringo from the latter, and I was stewing in my thoughts in thinking that Oshi no Ko is more of a Spiritual Antithesis than a Spiritual Successor. I need to gather my thoughts on why but I'm curious if anyone thinks that.
Edited by kirakirasunshine Hide / Show RepliesThe similarities don't feel intentional enough to warrant mention IMO. Have Aka or Mengo ever made public comments about Penguindrum?
~Tropers/{{742mph}} ~Luisdalas ~AK47Productions for the sake of Edit War prevention, it's preferable if the dispute with this example is handled here and escalated to Ask The Tropers if there's no agreement.
