I meant the "sends the Queen of Dragons crashing down hard" as a figure of speech rather than a literal one, but I admit that it does lead to a misunderstanding. As for the reaction shot of Jon and others making the death of Viserion seem like it's meant for pittance... well, the same argument can be said for the rank and file soldiers that Dany and Drogo massacred a couple of episodes earlier, yet I don't see anyone complaining when that got added in the main Catharsis Factor page.

The point is that the Catharsis Factor expressed there is entirely about slamming and hating one character entirely out of personal dislike rather than any narrative reasons. There are narrative reasons to dislike the Lannisters and Tarlys especially after the Diabolus ex Machina type buildup in the first episodes. And in the case of the Spoils of War, the main page entry has stuff about Villainous Valour and Villainous Underdog, which proves that we need to have complicated emotions about that kind of thing.

IF you want to you can go Rooting for the Empire and say Team White Walker which many people do so, but to do that you have to root against not only Dany, but also Jon, the Hound, Beric and others...again people do that, so go ahead.

There's also a narrative reason to dislike Daenarys' worsening ego, which Tyrion and Varys discuss will eventually reach the Mad King's level if someone does not peg her down soon. Will it be okay to write the catharsis entry based on that reasoning, or do we still have a problem?

In this episode, she willingly goes against Tyrion's advice to save the heroes...what is Mad King-esque about that? She is doing something heroic in this episode, which is save the heroes. So it doesn't make sense narratively outside of some dislike for that character. Jon Snow is so moved by her rescue that he decides to submit and she tells him "I hope I deserve it"...

There would be Catharsis, if say, Daenerys antics accidentally kill her or something. And there is an entry already in Spoils of War about some fans liking it when Bronn hit Drogon with that ballista. So that group of Dany-haters have their fix already in their appropriate location.

And you know, Tyrion and Varys calling Dany another Mad King is already contentious as it is since there are Anvilicious, Broken Aesop and other Informed Wrongness points added there. And Tyrion himself explicitly told Varys that Dany is not her father and what she does is not different from the norms of war in Westeros. If Stannis going around insisting that everyone "bend the knee" makes him cool, then the only reason why it's an issue with Daenerys is, well I suppose it's because she's a woman...

Very well, I concede then. But don't go playing the implied sexism card here. Plenty of people dislike characters like Stannis and Daenerys on equal measure, and that's all I'm gonna say about that.
