I honestly don't know why there's a rivalry here. Sure, they're both RPGs, but Human Revolution is more stealth-based than Mass Effect. The only other similarity that I can think of off the top of my head is that some of HR's music is reminiscent of ME's.

So I'm not the only one who doesn't know why there's even a rivalry. They deal with very different aspects of science fiction and like you say gameplay wise they're dissimilar too. Soundtracks in the same general vein isn't the worst reason I've heard for fan rivalry, sadly, but it's up there.

Apparently theres some Fandom Rivalry between Human Revolution and Mass Effect fans. As I'm a big fan of the latter and really enjoyed the former, I'm just interested why?
Is it because they're both sci-fi titles with some Blade Runner influences? I can't see it to be honest.
