Maybe we should reorganise the WMG pages, the set up we use now worked as folders but as pages they could be better, plus with events in series some changes might be a good idea

Why do the WM Gs of "Something is wrong with Korra's status as the avatar" and "Korra isn't the true Avatar, and there's a reason why" keep getting unofficially jossed by being added to the Jossed section of the WMG page every time it's not in there?

First off, you can't always follow Avatar world logic as a jossing tool, because later on the series may break some of that logic with a plot twist or event that may or may not give more evidence that supports the WM Gs (which is what the mentioned WM Gs are aiming for). Since only two episodes have aired in which they don't affect those WM Gs at all, I say just leave them alone since they're neither jossed nor confirmed.

btw, why do we have a Jossed section in the first place? It's more of a Hall of Shame if you ask me. I guess that's probably why I try to make such a big freakin' deal out of the WM Gs I support being jossed...

I don't really have a dog in your fight, but contrary to your argument the very definition of jossed invokes Word of God and canon. If Word of God were not a criteria for jossing, we'd never Joss any theories because of the hope of a retcon

This is not Word of God or anything to do with a retcon. But I guess it's easier to just explain what exactly the WMG is trying to shoot for. It's probably going to be a bit long and it's better off being on the main page, but clearly it's worthless to edit a WMG if it keeps getting jossed all the time (once a WMG is jossed, no one gives a crap about it anymore). So I'll explain myself here first.

I'll start off with the "Something is wrong with Korra's status as the Avatar" WMG. The whole theory is that there is something "off" about Korra being the Avatar. In fact, she may not be the Avatar at all. However, she still has the physical powers of the Avatar because she's able to bend Earth, Fire, and Water. So that obviously means she must be the Avatar and we should instantly joss this, right?... Well, some people think there's something fishy about all of this.

So it took the Lotus 5 years to hunt down the next Avatar and out of nowhere little Korra comes in with incredible bending powers for her age. But isn't it just a tad bit weird how Korra was able to bend the 3 elements professionally like it was nothing? She most likely didn't have any teachers either. And wouldn't her parents tell the Lotus as soon as possible instead of waiting until she turned 5? I'm pretty sure 5 year old Korra just came into the living room one day and starting bending the elements like a pro in front of her parents. And right then is where they called the Lotus.

That isn't of course the exact case, but be it as it may, there is still something "off" about Korra. So with this in mind, many other WM Gs will offspring from that. They range from the cause of it all the way to the outcome of it.

The theory I have (Korra is not the true Avatar, and there's a reason why) is that Korra is only "half" an Avatar. She has all the Physical powers and excels in them, but she doesn't have the spiritual side. Other tropers have expanded on it and think that there were two born Avatars. One with the physical powers who could bend all 4 elements (Korra), and one with the spiritual elements who can't bend at all (Possibly Amon). Now with something crazy as this, there must have been some tragic event that triggered it. Some people think something that we never saw happened during Aang's death that caused it, or possibly during the time when Azula struck lighting at Aang back in "The Crossroads of Destiny". Whatever the case may be, something happened that caused all of this, and it will most likely be revealed as the series progresses on (if all of this is ever true).

So yeah, that's what I'm trying to say in a nutshell. Again, this isn't a matter of Word of God or hoping for a retcon. It's just a pure and regular WMG that is not yet jossed or confirmed, and should stay as it is.

But Word of God, canon and All There in the Manual keeps stressing that only one person can be the Avatar at a given time, and as you pointed out above, your guesses hinge on "later on the series may break some of that logic" A work going back and breaking the rules of its established logic, is by definition, a retcon. I don't see what's so awful about having a Jossed section anyway, particularly since we can fish examples out and create an Alternate Theories entry if there's a potentially intriguing variation on a theme, or move them to I Knew It! in instances of Lying Creator.

Well I'll just dead-straight admit you're completely right then. But it's just I was never faced with so much Word of God on jossing WM Gs before. I mean, what's the problem with having Retcon WM Gs anyways? Is it a problem that someone is simply just making a Wild Mass Guess by guessing something as wild as a retcon?

Anyways I still believe that something is still unusual about Korra's status as the Avatar. And it doesn't have to necessarily be a retcon to show that. So yeah, for now my WMG of "Korra is not the true Avatar, and there's a reason why" is technically jossed by Word of God standards. But I want to leave the WMG of "There is something wrong about Korra's status as the Avatar" alone since it's not necessarily pointed towards a retcon. Still, you never know when a jossed retcon-based WMG actually becomes confirmed later on and gets moved to the I Knew It section.

I agree, WMG pages are for ANY sort of speculation. Whether you personally think something makes sense or not is unimportant, what matters is that anyone can share their opinion on the subject.

The Jossed page, meanwhile, is for WM Gs that are completely 100% disproved.

EX: If the WMG is that Bumi is Amon, it is extremely likely that this is Jossed, as Amon gave a very different backstory in the latest episode. However, it is not yet completely impossible, so it would remain in the normal WMG part.

Basically, even if something is unlikely, it deserves to stay on the unconfirmed folders. It can only be moved to the I Knew It! or Jossed folders if it is 100% proven or disproved.

WMG pages, generally, are used for FEASIBLE guessing.

I was just wondering if it might be a good idea to create separate pages for Korra WMG, just like with the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic WMG page(s). Right now, we don't have so many WM Gs that we really NEED separate pages, but it's possible that the page will get larger as time goes on. Opinions on this?
