I vote for their T. rex, personally. Fluffy-yet-terrifying rex is what sold me on this game initially.
The logo is up on wikipedia right now. Might make for a good stand-in.
Can anyone explain why the alvarezsaurid is lumped into the Ornithomimus genus?

It isn't. All we know of it is that it is "O." minutus. It doesn't even have a genera name, and it certainly is not Albertonykus. The Ornithomimid is "Ornithomimus" sedens. "Deinornithomimus" is a Fan Nickname and should not be used.

I did a bit of research, and according to a commenter on deviantART, when the alvie was first discovered, it was thought to be a species of Ornithomimus and was lumped into the genus before it turned out to be an alvarezsaurid.

Essentially, yes. I added a note to clarify this. Incidentally, the quotation marks signify that we quite don't know where to put those species exactly yet.
"O." minutus is short for "Ornithomimus" minutus because it was mistakenly assigned to Ornithomimus when initially discovered, as correctly noted. It has not yet been given its own genus name, thus this outdated binomial is the most convenient way of referring to it. The quotations indicate that it is now known to not really belong to Ornithomimus.
It's not essential to the article, but it's worth pointing out that, though not a formal scientific name, "Deinornithomimus" is a nickname coined by
the developers, not merely a Fan Nickname.
Thanks for the information- I hadn't gleaned that info from my conversations on the Discord. On "Deinornithomimus", I was distinctly told that the name was used as a joke within the community. Perhaps Fan Nickname is not really the right term here indeed.
Hey, I think we should make it clear that character customization, Post Impact Survival, etc. will not be in Early Access. Just to avoid confusion later on. Where would be a good spot to mention that in the article?
