I'm watching the launch trailer and one of the scenes involved shows that because of Richard Croft's claims being debunked, all of his books are taken out of circulation. What trope would that be?

- Shout-Out: After her previous adventure of surviving a hellish island Lara donning a bow and arrow as her Weapon Of Choice and green survival jacket makes her more like Oliver Queen than ever.
Don't quite get why. Fair call I would think, seems like it's a clear reference.
Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger than Yours Hide / Show RepliesThese are really weak hints, I would think. Sure it's a Shout-Out at all? It doesn't help that it's not clear which aspects are similar.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThink about it. A young playgirl shipwrecked on a hellish island, forced to survive against bloodthirsty mercenaries as she trains up to be a killer while still being idealistic, rocks a bow and arrow and in the new game wears a green survival jacket. At the very least the developers have to be fans of Arrow, some if not most of the plot elements can be coincidence but it seems like there's too much there for the ideas not to have been used.
Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger than YoursWell, the elements from the 2013 game can't count since Arrow came out after the game would already be well underway in production. The only new thing to the mix is "she wears a green jacket" which seems a bit flimsy since the one picture I've seen has her in a red jacket, and the page mentions her in a blue hoodie. It looks like she just... wears a few different jackets.

Hmmm, speaking with other fans about the similarities they were all, "oh yes, that is Arrow." If one was not influenced by the other they are both strikingly similar, no getting around that. We have a trope for that? Spiritual Licensee wouldn't work but it's similar, and I think well worth addressing.
Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger than YoursThe game started development in 2008, and was released in March 2013. The first episode of Arrow aired in October 2012. By the time anyone on the dev team could have been inspired by the show, the major work on Tomb Raider, and certainly the bits about her going through hell on an island and learning to use a bow and arrow, were most likely set in stone. It's just one of those odd little coincidences.
Besides, "they both went through hell on an island, they both use bows (though she uses guns too), and she sometimes wears green" seems like a bit of a stretch. She didn't return to her city and become a vigilante, he didn't uncover a possibly ancient conspiracy revolving around supernatural forces in the ancient world... it just doesn't track for me. Maybe there'll be Arrow shout outs in the game; for now, she wore a green jacket once in some promotional material.
Feel free. This isn't exactly a formal wiki, after all. :)

Sam isn't in this game at all, is she? I spotted her in a graduation photo early in the game, but this is a strange decision considering how important their relationship is. Also, Sam was a major camera person, who sounds like someone you might want to come along if you're trying to prove the existence of something to help document things. From what I've seen so far, Lara just runs around ancient ruins and never actually takes any evidence or photos ever.
Poor Sam.
