I don't think it fits in the first place. The trope favors fictional characters, while Alois Hitler is a real person, plus it also favors situations where the whole name is the same over just a shared first name, and TH Alois has a different surname. The main reason Hilda and Claude get a pass is because a large portion of the fandom noticed the name similarities so that it counts in practice if not in the letter of the trope's law. Even if Alois Hitler was indeed a fictional character, the Alois connection on the other hand is not a widely recognized similarity.
I want to add an entry to the Names The Same tab of this page, but I'm worried that doing so could potentially break the Rule of Cautious Editing Judgement. Specifically, this is the segment I wanted to write:
- Alois had an arguably even more unfortunate case of Name's the Same than Hilda, sharing his name with Adolf Hitler's father, who often punished his son severely. note
Do you think this could start up an incident, or is it okay to put up as it is? Edited by Blazing_Larvesta Hide / Show Replies
