The first one by your writeup is just a common name. Not a Shout-Out. The second is murkier but I'll say no regardless.

Two I always thought were Shout Outs, but wasn't sure about:
- Ringo the Raccoon, after Ringo Starr.
- Nanook the Husky, after Nanook of the North.
