They're more supernatural beings than ones from another planet, which is really core to the Absent Aliens trope. They're angels and demons in all but name, but they don't live on a separate planet.

Can we add "Rousseau Was Right" as a trope here? I mean at it's core, it feels to me like it's more or less the central message of the show.
