Would Helena Taylor eventually find herself here? She was never technically fired for her role as Bayonetta, she chose not to come back as the VA for Bayonetta due to, at her words at the beginning of it all, was offered an insulting $4,000 for everything and then proceeds to burn all bridges by call for boycotting the next entry of the series, pleading for fans to donate to charity. This also broke NDA rules, which would make it difficult for her to get any work since it paints her unreliable, but makes it clear she couldn't care less.

Then it comes to light that, she was offered union payment at a minimum $15,000 to $20,000, which she intentionally left out, and that Platinum Games (Bayonetta Dev team) really did wanted her to stay, but Helena was adamant at feeling she was worth far more. She proceeds to call it all lies as the reports were coming in, only to proceed to prove that she did in fact lie by omission, and doubling down on her boycott of the series and claiming that the news reports were bought off. It doesn't help that she used the lack of respect Voice Actors get in the industry, where they couldn't make livable wages and simply seen as replaceable whenever companies feel like it. Not to mention she posted links to charities that happen to have one organizations that a very Anti-Abortion, which led to many to agree that she has completely destroyed her entire career and image in record time.

Again, I don't know if she fits the bill since she was never actually fired, merely replaced, and not even out of malice either, just that the game needed the Voice Acting and Platinum Game had a schedule to keep, it was merely business. Helena Taylor essentially ruined her own career based on the actions she took afterwards.

It would more fit under Overshadowed by Controversy, if that were the case.

I figured it wouldn't fit in this page, thanks.

So... a lot of these entries boil down to "banned from a game/submitting scores/having their records wiped because they were cheating."

That... doesn't seem to be in the spirit of this. It's not a role-ending misdemeanor so much as a reveal that they never really had the role to begin with and lied about it.

I very much disagree with the assertion that the Jessica Price issue is a Gamergate issue. That is straight up strawmanning and no where in the issue EXCEPT for Jessica herself is Gamergate mentioned. The issue was an employee acting like a jerk to people and getting rightly fired for it.

It was Gamergate, or the dredges of Gamergate, who went after her. Regardless, putting her on blast seems excessive considering that she isn't a famous personality, unlike everyone else on the list.

Famous personality? Since when has that been a requirement for Role-Ending Misdemeanor?

Aside from how petty it is, importing Internet drama is a no-no on this site. I would call this particular example an example of that.

Either way, I strongly disagree with the example's description of what occurred with regards to Jessica Price, and I can see no way to make the example more palatable without making it seem even more petty.

Nothing on this was about Gamergate at all, you are the one dragging that subject into this. Not once was it mentioned in the entry that it was Gamegate. It was specifically talking about how Jessica Price acted out of line and got fired. Now if the entry fits as in is it big enough? Thats up for debate, but the point you made about this being Gamer Gate is unfounded and you are strawmanning the argument. That is not enough nor do you have evidence to support that claim I imagine.

However your claims that this is internet drama means all these entries on this page save a select few, the ones on Web Original, and Animewould have to go then as well.

This is very much a Gamergate issue. Pretending it's not is disingenuous at best.

As for the other examples: yeah, I started cleaning up the other subpages already. There's a lot of "they stopped being friends" which is not, y'know, an example.

Where is your proof of this being a Gamergate issue? As it stands now, you are creating a boogeyman with no proof.

Aside from witnessing the usual suspects go after Jessica Price myself? Aside from the incident being pretty much identical to every other Gamergate-related one for the past five years? Ignoring that she's been a punching bag for Gamergate for ages, before this happened?

Does it matter? I think this is a pretty shitty thing to put on blast. "Employee snaps at someone, gets fired and harassed" is really petty. I'm nixing the example because it's at the very least adjacent to Gamergate, which is a banned topic here, and because of the Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment.

Does that settle the matter?

The entry being removed is fine but the reason you are doing so is very flimsy and you are relying on your eye witness and passing judgement on people without facts. I could argue the exact opposite and say "I saw the whole thing and saw no signs of Gamergate" and it would hold the same weight because I saw it too. I'm not using that argument though because thats assuming the intentions of the people involved without proof on my part. You have avoided any proof and just insisted Gamergate was the cause even though nothing of the sort is documented or proven. Where is your proof of her being a punching bag?

You seem to be projecting your views over what happened which is concerncing when you yourself admit Gamergate is a ROCEJ. Why even bring it up when you could have said anything else?

Anyway, I'm going to drop this since this is going nowhere. I'm fine with the removal but your reason is questionable and is injecting a Flame Bait subject where it wasn't present.

So much arguing over a single entry. Wow. You all must be so proud.

... I mean, they've civilly reached an agreement on a contested example on the internet. Frankly, that's borderline commendable. Not worth being an ass about, at least.

True on all counts. I'll even admit to being an ass about it.
