No, you're not - a friend of mine thought that. It does pose more questions though, like how she got to 1960s Earth (Jenny has no access to a TARDIS - so there'd have to be an as yet unknown plot-reason for it — the Silence's TARDIS, maybe?) and why she became a little girl (how many regenerations does it take to get THAT young?).
Well, the Doctor started out looking in his late 60's and 10 regenerations later he looks to be in his earliest 30's. Jenny started out in her late 20's and the girl is like..11. Wouldn't be too many regenerations.
Except the 'Regenerations x Age' graph isn't directly linear, it's more of a trend.
The first two Doctors decrease in age, but Three is then older than Two. The Fourth and Fifth get younger again, until the Sixth Doctor who is older than the Fifth, and the Seventh older than the Sixth (just). The Eight was younger again, but the Ninth is either older or the same age... then we start getting younger again.
So if the girl is Jenny, it could be *any* number of regenerations if there were 'blips'.
From an practical point of view, it doesn't make sense to revert back too young because you become more helpless (evidently not as helpless as a non-Timelord/lady child!) - you at least want to be able to reach your TARDIS controls! :-D
Edited by TranquilityAnyone else love to come back to old discussion with lots of hindsight?
It makes me feel feel more informed even though that's not the case.
It's sorta like going back in time and telling ignorant old Pasteys things they wanted to know that we do know.
Like telling Van Gogh how respected he is...
Why don't they just stop at Earth in 2011 and pick up a pregnancy test? If Amy's 3 months along, any drugstore test will be 99.9% accurate.
Hide / Show RepliesYeah, I think the issue is not that the TARDIS can't determine, but more that, as far as time is concerned, well...she is, but she isn't, but she is, but she isn't, but she is, but she isn't, but she is, but...
So, she's going to have Schrodinger's baby? Wait, that came out wrong. What I meant to say was.. ah, never mind.
Wait. Wasn't there an Expanded Universe story where one of the companions was "almost" erased from history, and for a while had the ability to turn invisible and walk through walls because of it? Maybe her child will be like that.
Erwin Schrödinger, you flirty dog!
If you want any of my avatars, just Pm me I'd truly appreciate any avatar of a reptile sleeping in a Nice Hat Read Elmer Kelton booksIt was about the, um, what was I saying?
I mean, who were the bad guys?
If you want any of my avatars, just Pm me I'd truly appreciate any avatar of a reptile sleeping in a Nice Hat Read Elmer Kelton booksThis is clearly a YMMV thing, so I'd like to discuss before adding to the Recap page...
Disproportionate Retribution - What did the Silence do to deserve being killed on sight? They're capable of controlling humans through post-hypnotic suggestion, and likely have been doing so for eons. But have they really harmed humanity by doing so? For all we know, they've helped us by sharing their discoveries. The only objectively-bad thing I can think of is that one guy who killed Joy, and nobody remembers that it happened.
Hide / Show RepliesWho actually voiced the Silent? If I'm to believe the Harry Potter Wiki, it was... Jason Isaacs? Even though it sounded like General Grievous...
Hide / Show RepliesI'm sorry, I have to mention: Harry Potter Wiki? That's just such a wonderfully mad place to get your casting details from. Love it.
Can someone explain what the Worldwide Punomenon-entry is about? I don't get what's ment to be funny, but I can't just delete it like that. (The whole discussion if it's supposed to be "Silents" or "Silence" feels pretty uneccessary when the BBC-homepage explicitly says "The singular form of Silence is Silent")
Hide / Show Replies"The Silents" are an Australian rock band. I'm not sure that really counts as a pun, honestly. Any name that goes "The <Noun>" is bound to be the name of a band somewhere.
You cannot negotiate with fire.Uh, the orphanage was in Georgia, and Renfrew's Georgian accent was perfect. He even looks like that frequent guest star on Good Eats.
Hide / Show RepliesLucky Yates, that was it. Uh sorry, it won't let me edit non-main pages, I'm not sure why. Endless password-asking loop.
General query - everyone seems to have come to the conclusion that the Ill Girl is Amy's daughter. Fair enough assumption really, but am I the only one, upon seeing her at the end, who instantly thought of Jenny, from The Doctor's Daughter? Especially considering Moffat apparently ensured that Jenny did not die at the end of TDD.
