In relation to Examples Are Not Recent eventually these are going to have to be put in an older category. I'm not complaining or saying that has to be done NOW, just opening up conversation.

Is the 419 Scam an example, or just a old scam updated? More generally is spam email an example or an update of junk mail? Come to think of it, is junk mail (receiving it, complaining about it, seeing that it's piled up because the recipient is missing or dead) a trope?

Well see if you can look up how old the scam is. If you don't find it before 1980, put it up.
