It seems like a lot if not most of these examples are a more specific situation: A character is introduced to someone who excels at everything they're supposed to be good at. The episode is spent in jealousy and/or with the character questioning their place in life; at the end, the replacement character is killed/removed or turns out to be evil after all.

Is that a trope already? It seems like it should be. I don't think that situation really fits the Temporary Scrappy, since it's not a parody of the Scrappy trope; it's more of a stock plot.

Way too many examples are of unintentional Temporary Scrappies. The article explicitly states that the Temporary Scrappy is an intentional creation. For example, look at the Price Is Right listing. These people were not intended to be Scrappies, and thus don't fit the description of the article.
