I have an idea for an example from Primeval (TV series):
- The Big Bad of the Second Season had a bomb placed in the main building, should his plans be foiled. The bomb is discovered, followed by a stereotypical 'cut the red wire' suggestion. Except that ALL of the bomb wires are red. Luckily the heroes manage to not be killed by the fact somebody has read the Evil Overlord List.
- Does this fit?
- Also note, the Big Bad is not revealed until the finale two-parter, hence no need to name names.

Moving the discussion on the rarity of the cure for Scraplets to the discussion page:
lonewolf23k:
- Ultra-Rare? Seriously? Something you can find in any comet was unknown to Transformers?

Excise:
- The dialog can be interpreted as either the cure is incredibly rare, or knowledge of what the cure was is incredibly rare.

Also, there is hardly any water on Cybertron itself, and in the G1 comics, Cybertron was a rogue planet: it did not orbit any star, but rather was flying through the void. As a result, there would have been no comets near Cybertron on any kind or regular basis. I think that any substance that one would have to travel into deep space to find qualifies as being very rare.
What is the distinction between Mundane Solution and Stating the Simple Solution? The latter trope page says it's when someone brings up an easier solution, but it also seems to cover cases where they try it and it works. As far as I can tell, the Mundane Solution is a subtrope of a Simple One.
For example, if a giant robot was attacking the city, performing an action to stop the robot instead of fighting it would be a Simple Solution. If the action was to give a phone call to the robot's pilot, that would be a Mundane Solution. If the action was to use a previously-established magical MacGuffin to turn off the robot, that would be a Simple Solution but not an Mundane one. Can there be a Mundane Solution that is not Simple?
Did you know that if you square any integer and divide the result by either 3 or 4, the remainder is always either zero or one?
