This was a Zero Context Example:
- The Land of Dolls in The Nutcracker.
It needs context and a description.
Edited by ArcadesSabboth Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere.I just had an epiphany about 'level ate'...
A worm LIVES in a level ate!
And, extrapolating from there, you can stretch the boundaries of what is edible. Like the saying that "All mushrooms are edibles. Some only once.", everything that can fit in your mouth is therefore edible, maybe just once. Therefore, if prepared correctly (i.e. made into small chunks) EVERYTHING is edible. Yeah, maybe I went too far...
Hide / Show RepliesJust wanted to add, Pac man was invented when a programmer was up late and ordered a pizza, he took one slice out, and that's where the idea came from. So Pacman technically represents pizza himself.
Also, under the movie section. In one of the spy kids movies (I think it's Spy kids 3D) they go to a land made entirely of sweets.
Just wanted to add a couple of examples to the Literature section: 1. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - the chocolate river etc 2. The Magic Faraway Tree series (Enid Blyton). One of the lands accessible from the top of the tree was made entirely of sweets/chocolate/cake etc.
I edited out the "Type B" part of this trope (settings not actually made out of food), since it overlapped so much with Edible Theme Naming. There weren't too many examples in that section, anyway.
I also removed this because I do not think it is an example. I don't have the original Hebrew in front of me nor could I read it, but I'd think they meant the land was full of good things, not literally made of milk an honey. If they were being literal, then they mistook grapes for milk and honey.
- Older Than Feudalism: In The Bible, Moses' spies returned from Canaan with a bunch of grapes that was so big it took two men to carry it, and described it as "a land flowing with milk and honey *." (Numbers 13: 23 and 27)
