CSI gave us the Miniature Killer, who was eventually revealed to be a janitor working for the crime lab.
Except that there are a few mitigating factors. She always was a Janitor. The reason she became one at the crime lab is to gain access to Grissom's office when it became personal (after she blamed him for her foster dad's death) to deliver the minitature of Sarah. It's never clear if she worked there during the other crimes, or if it was just for that particular plan. Eitherway, her job had nothing to do with covering up her tracks or anything, but rather simply for access to one office.
