Several of the examples seem to exemplify the Gothic half of the equation but not the Punk half. I would argue that the latter requires nihilistic, enraged opposition to the hegemon(s). If so, should the examples that are clearly Gothic but probably not Punk be included here?

Is urban fantasy to this trope what high fantasy/heroic fantasy is to dungeon punk?
