Could qualify for robot characters too? i.e. A robot has to plug themself in to charge or is shown replacing faulty components?

How can the audience forget what a character is? I have nothing against this, in fact don't let people forget what you are, but like, how can you forget you're looking at an animal? Do these writer just assume that Viewers Are Morons or something?

It's mostly just a weird animal behaviour-quirk rather than reminder.
Weird question, probably best answered by any anthropologists that are here, but are there any real-life examples of this trope that can remind us that we humans are apes?
